He suggested I shower twice a day and use jergens lotion frequently to help the healing process. Thankfully I decided to get a second opinion. I stopped in at battleground because it's in my neighborhood and was blown away by the customer service and friendly staff. The owner Will went out of his way to take the time and explain to me the importance of aftercare to ward off infections and also prolong the longevity of you're tattoo. Free of charge he took me into his booth and showed me how to properly apply aqua for too it and have me a handout he gives all his clients easily explaining how to take care of it over the next four weeks. I had a suspicion my original artist had neglected to explain to me that importance and I am so glad I stopped in to meet Will because he most likely saved me a ton of trouble - remember this will be on my body for life and I want to take the best possible care available and me having not had a huge piece done before was ignorant to the fact. I will 100% be coming back to this parkour for my next tattoo and am so thankful for Will and his staff. A woman had originally answered the phone e and offered me some of her personally Tagaderm because I thought that is what I needed to help protect it. All around above a 5star experience and I'm stoked to add their ink eventually to my body. Thanks Will and staff y'all are awesome.

Still love our tattoos a year later!! Good work! However, tried to take a few friends here recently…read moreand didn't rlly have the best experience honestly. There was 4 of us wanting to get stuff so we called an hour ahead of time to make sure there'd be time for multiple tatts and custom work and was told yes. So we drove over there, called again from the parking lot to make sure, were told yes there's absolutely still time, paid for parking, got in the building and talked to the guy up front who basically said that there was *not* time for us to all get stuff. We had actually made sure there'd be time to do custom and that's where he said that basically they would only do flash for the rest of the day (which is not even close to what we were told on the phone). Lowkey felt embarrassed bc I had bragged on this place so much going into it but we ended up leaving and having a *fantastic* experience at a different shop that we've now made our go-to. Might've just been an off day or a new guy up front, but that was lowkey cringe.

I had a really disappointing experience with Alchemy Tattoo, specifically with an artist named…read moreJulian. I originally reached out after finding Julian's work on Instagram and scheduled a free consultation. During that consult, I clearly explained the tattoo concept I wanted. He told me it was doable, so based on that assurance, I paid a $100 non-refundable deposit to move forward. From there, communication was rough. Scheduling the actual session took a long time and required multiple follow-ups. There was also no design review, mockup, or finalized concept shared beforehand--I was told the design would be done once I arrived at the studio. When I showed up for my appointment (about two months later), things immediately went sideways. The sketch he showed me was completely different from what we had discussed. When I expressed concern (because this is something going permanently on my body), he started scrambling to redesign it on the spot. After over an hour of sketching, he then told me that my original idea wasn't really possible and would "look bad"--which directly contradicted what he told me during the initial consult, before taking my deposit. At that point, I felt uncomfortable moving forward and decided to leave to think it over. A few days later, I reached out explaining that since the tattoo concept I was promised wasn't actually feasible, I'd like my deposit refunded. Since then, Julian has gone completely silent. No response. No explanation. Nothing--despite multiple follow-ups. This feels incredibly unprofessional and, frankly, shady. Clear communication upfront would have avoided all of this. I would not recommend Julian or Alchemy Tattoo in Nashville based on my experience.

He didn't rush, was light-handed, and our conversation lasted the length of the tattoo--funny, interesting artist, easy to talk to, laid back and super proud of his work. It was a great experience and I couldn't have chosen a more talented artist and all around great dude to get a tattoo from.

I want to start by saying the shop itself is great. It's clean, welcoming, and the staff working…read morethe front desk were friendly and professional. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about my experience with the tattoo itself. I do not recommend Tim Peterson. A friend and I came in for matching tattoos. Her design ended up being slightly larger than mine, but they were otherwise very similar. The quality of our tattoos, however, looks like they were done by two completely different artists--even though Tim did both. Within 3-4 days, I noticed part of my tattoo already looked faded and unfinished. I waited nearly a month before reaching out because I wanted to give it time to heal. When I contacted Tim, I told him I loved the design but felt part of it looked incomplete. He did not dispute my concerns when I showed him a photo of how the tattoo looked after nearly a month of healing and simply told me to come back so he could fix it. The problem is that I live over 4.5 hours from Nashville. Coming back isn't as simple as making a quick trip--I have to take time off work, drive several hours, and pay for a hotel. Despite staying in contact and trying to plan multiple trips, Tim never once mentioned there was a six-month deadline for complimentary touch-ups. It wasn't until I reached out recently about pricing for a friend who wanted a tattoo during an upcoming girls' trip that he mentioned his hourly rate is now $200. I then asked whether I'd have to pay to have my original tattoo fixed. That's when he informed me that because it had been over six months, a small touch-up would cost $100. Had I been told from the beginning that there was a six-month limit, I would have done everything possible to make it back sooner. But that was never communicated. This wasn't a tattoo that faded from age or sun exposure--it looked unfinished from the start. I assumed an artist would stand behind work that needed correction due to the original application, regardless of when I was able to return. His response was: "I'm not sure if you were under the impression you had unlimited time for a touch up. But unfortunately we can't offer that. If you were unhappy with the tattoo from the beginning I'd hate to solidify the unliked design further for you, and you may want to seek out another artist that works for you." Instead of standing behind his work, he suggested I find another artist to fix a tattoo he acknowledged needed to be touched up. That response was incredibly disappointing. I have several tattoos, and this is the first time I've encountered an artist who wasn't willing to stand behind the quality of their work. My issue isn't simply the touch-up fee--it's the lack of communication about the policy and the unwillingness to take responsibility for a tattoo that appeared incomplete from the beginning. If you're looking for an artist who stands behind their work and clearly communicates expectations, then do not book an appointment with Tim. I'm sharing this so future clients can make an informed decision before trusting someone to permanently tattoo their body. In my experience, I was left with work that appeared incomplete from the beginning and was then expected to either accept it if I couldn't return within six months (and was never originally told this time frame) or pay an additional $100 to have the original work corrected.
