Big's Convenience Store - Absolutely no prices on any of the drinks or food. So you select an item and walk to the front to get rung up and that's where you find out the price. Nothing is posted. Absolutely strange and unethical. Then a male worker meowed (like a cat) at my 5 year old daughter as we walked into the women's restroom. It was very uncomfortable and strange. read more

One of the most unpleasant gas station experiences I've had in years. The current staff on duty, particularly the older woman behind the counter, was dismissive and unwelcoming. She didn't greet customers, showed no interest in assisting with requests, and tossed my change on the counter while I was still considering additional items. Gas pump ten discharged the previous receipt with an extra 11 dollars for a merchandise fee (which is unusual), so I went inside to get my refund. The long haired guy confirmed it overcharged me and gave me cash as a refund. When I got to my car he came running with the proper receipt and cussed me out. He then stated that I was stupid for not checking the receipt properly. When the fact is that the machine didn't function properly. I returned the cash immediately and checked my bank account. The proper transaction is pending. This occurred on 4:03 pm on 12/26/2023. Please retrain your staff. This behavior is unacceptable. read more

I purchased a Texas Lottery Daily-4 ticket from this Valero retailer #182957-00 on Highway 281 in San Antonio and today my numbers won $400. I went to that same retailer and they refused to pay my ticket - they said they will only pay tickets $100 or less. I told them that was illegal per the Texas Lottery rules. They still refused to pay at 2PM and said they don't have that much money in the busy store. Sad. They should not be allowed to sell lottery tickets. read more

Not only are the pumps slow, but they are stealing money from customers. My 21 gallon tank somehow took 22.67 gallons of diesel, and it wasn't even empty when I came in! Clearly they are scamming customers of their money! I showed them the receipt and the specs of my vehicle and they refused to take responsibility for their machines. At minimum, I was robbed of $4.92. How many people a day are they stealing from? How long have they been robbing people without them even knowing? Don't let it happen to you. I spoke to the manager, Debra, with not so much as an apology, and her corporate office hasn't returned a call. Shame on these crooks! read more

I was running out of gas after getting my wallet stolen and had to use any and all loose change I had to get home. after handing a gentleman what I thought was $5 ($2 in ones and $3 in quarters). He counted the coins and I must have dropped or miss counted by 1 quarte (25 cents) I then apologized and said if he could put the amount, I handed him not the amount that was stated because I must've missed counted. he then proceeded to say, and I quote. "I don't know why you people lie". There was a woman behind me who asked me if I needed that quarter I told her no after I was just shocked at what he said. I asked him if it was OK if I could go walk to my car and get that quarter I may have dropped and he waved anyway and said "it doesn't matter just don't lie I don't know why you people lie" he was an older gentleman with glasses and short dark hair. We were the same complexion, which is why it boggles me not that it should matter, but I will never be going to the gas station again. I'd rather run out of gas on the side of the road and deal with that blatant racism. if I could give negative stars, I would. read more

The staff that has been there for a few years are extremely nice and friendly. Part of the reason I stop there is because of them. There is a newer guy working and isn't as friendly. He claimed if coins are not rolled he will not take them. Seem stupid because I bought a pack of cigarettes at 7.40$ in quarters because I ran out the house without grabbing my wallet. Thankfully one of the staff members who knows I've been stopping there for years took my 8$ in quarters without an issue. Seems the newer/younger employee has a bit to learn from the seasoned vets there. read more

I've been to Big's twice in the last two weeks and was ripped off with their gas pumps twice! The first time, I was in a rush and stopped for some gas. I paid at the pump and started pumping gas into my truck but the pump was running very slow. I was in a rush, so I only put five gallons of gas in which was enough for me to make it home and fill up at my normal gas station later. Putting in 5 gallons should have given me enough gas to make it home but as I drove a couple of miles north up 281 I noticed my gas gauge did not move at all. I had to stop at Luke's on 281 and 1863 to put more gas in my truck since I obviously did not get the gas I paid for from Big's. A week later I was in my wife's Explorer when I stopped at Big's again. I figured lighting would not strike twice and it was the only gas station in the area. I went inside and prepaid and then went to the pump to fill up. I immediately, started pumping gas and noticed the gas pumped stopped sooner than I expected. For whatever reason, the clerk charged me for Premium!!! I've heard others mention that Big's is always having issues with their gas pumps. I would advise anyone to avoid this gas station. read more
