A Clean Upscale Convenience Stop in Vintage Oaks…read more Denovo Market is one of the nicest gas‑station stores around. It's modern, spotless, and has a little bit of everything -- milk, vegetables, wine, snacks, and all the quick essentials you might need. The bathrooms are incredibly clean, the gas stalls are spacious, and parking is easy, which makes stopping here feel way more elevated than your typical convenience store. It's also super convenient if you live in Vintage Oaks. You can grab what you need without driving into town, which is a huge plus. Just know it's not your bargain gas station. There's a markup, but honestly, most places charge a premium for convenience -- at least here, you're getting a clean, upscale experience.

So we decided "eh let's give this place a shot instead" on our drive down to San Antonio. And to our surprise, this place was actually really solid. No, it doesn't have the SHEER square footage of the NB Buc-ee's, but it has nice clean plentiful bathrooms, a good assortment of snacks, drinks, useful trinkets, and toys, as well as a buy-at-the-counter deli with fresh hot food and many tables to sit and eat inside. Honestly, all our needs were more than met stopping here and it took probably less than half the time fighting the onslaught of cars/people always swarming like ants at Buc-ee's across the freeway on the weekends. If you find yourself in a similar conundrum (and don't have any beaver-related business needs), just come here instead! Also the Exxon pumps have tap to pay. Yay!

My visit to Tex Best was extremely disappointing. After a long drive, I stopped in hoping to grab a…read morerefreshment and cool down, but instead I walked into what felt like a sauna. The air conditioning either wasn't working or was completely ineffective. The store was uncomfortably hot, and several employees appeared to be sweating heavily while working. The prices were another shock. I ended up spending far more than expected for just two drinks, which made the experience even more frustrating. I was also concerned by what I observed in the food service area. Employees were using their phones while working around food, and I did not see gloves being worn during food preparation. One food service employee, Abigail, seemed annoyed that I wanted to place an order. After seeing the condition of the food area and the lack of professionalism, I decided it wasn't worth purchasing food. Overall, the combination of excessive heat, high prices, questionable food handling practices, and poor customer service left a very negative impression. Management needs to address the air conditioning issue immediately and take a closer look at food safety standards and employee professionalism. I will not be returning and would encourage others to be aware of these issues before visiting.

Wow, The Market at Lookout sure has it all! I stopped by this gas station on my way out of San…read moreAntonio and was pleasantly surprised by their wide selection of items. This store is your perfect one-stop-shop for anything you need. They have a wide selection of snacks and beverages, including a very large walk-in fridge with beer. They also have two Blue Bell ice cream freezers, which I thought was pretty cool and perfect for our very hot Texas summers. They also have a nice selection of toiletries and other home items. Their bathroom are not the cleanest, but they are decent and have a baby changing station. The person working the cash register was super nice and very friendly. In the few minutes I was there I noticed he recognized a bunch of the people coming in and knew them by name, which I think is a sign of great customer service and probably a reason why all those folks keep coming back to this one gas station.

Went to buy some Bittermelon as my friend told me they carry them here. I hadn't been here in years…read morebecause I remembered they had old, moldy Bittermelon. Well, they had some older Indian Bittermelon that was in the bin so I only took one piece. I found regular Bittermelon that wasn't old so I picked up a couple. I wanted to see what other veggies they had & saw round eggplant, fresh okra, fresh basil, onions, ginger, cauliflower that had some moldy pieces, Moringa bunches that were dry in some pieces & moldy in other parts & Kabocha type of cut squash in the cooler that also had random mold in some pieces. There were other fruits & veggies available in the cooler section & in boxes on the ground. Seemed like a lot of people came to shop when I came in on a Friday. I walked down the spice & tea aisle real quick just to see what they had, saw sacks of rice in another aisle & also saw freezer items in a cooler. I checked out & saw hot Samosas that a woman bought before me. The clerk rang me up & even though I picked out 1 piece of Indian Bittermelon & 2 pieces of regular Bittermelon, he charged me under "Indian Bittermelon".‍ If I'm in a pinch, I'll check the store out again once I find out when their produce delivery days are.
