Hubby and I are still only dining at establishments that have outdoor seating. As we are traveling this week, I found this spot on Yelp and we decided to give their patio a try. The tables were spread out, and the server and staff were wearing masks, but quite a few customers walked into the restaurant with no masks in and nothing was said. The toasted raviolis were fantastic, the bread and tomato dip was also fantastic. I ordered chicken piccata and received chicken Cacciatore - bummer, but was too hungry to have it switched. Hubby had chicken Marsala. They were 'ok' but needed a lot of seasoning. The best part of my dish was the mushrooms. Portions are huge, next time, we will just split an entree. Service was good but the poor lady was taking care of just about all tables inside and out. They finally assigned a couple helpers to fill water and clear tables. They were doing a pretty brisk business during the pandemic. Good for them and the community that is supporting them. read more

This is my second time there it was me and my wife's wedding and my girls birthday. The first time we went everything was great. We go today and it just seemed like the waitress didn't want to help us. All we did is ask for some more dinner bread and if it could be warm up and she said that that's just the way it comes out they're busy, so it gets sometimes like that. I just thought that there could've been a different approach to it. Then we asked for more dinner rolls and she said there's a charge. I get it, but I think she could've had a different way to approach it. I just felt like she was dry and it seemed like she didn't even want to be there. Even my daughters that just turned 18 felt the same way, so what I did was I call for the manager over. I spoke to him and he was fine. I told him I don't like doing bad reviews, but I appreciate him coming over. He talked to us, but I feel like nothing was going to get done. I would never sit with Dawn If I decide to go back, I don't mind spending the money, but I want to have a good experience when I go out to dinner. That's why I was there especially on a special night like tonight. It was a very nice place. Also just to add the restaurant was very clean and the food was delicious and I did tell the manager that I didn't want to put a negative review on his restaurant, but I feel like people should know the experience that I had. Again the food is delicious, but the service that I had tonight was not good, so I'm putting a good and bad review in. I have eaten here twice and this is some of the best Italian food in Arizona! The chicken/veal Parmesan is outstanding and the chicken marsala was very flavorful. The mud cake is my favorite dessert, but the tiramisu was also a hit. The staff was very friendly and helpful when ordering and the service was very attentive. Nope - never again! Feb 2025 * couples Nope - not again!!! First time was a little disappointing as halfway through dinner the wait staff started cleaning up all of the tables around us. It was so loud and distracting we couldn't enjoy our evening out with friends. The pasta was NOT al dente, and the calamari was served without lemon wedges. Still the chicken parm was good. Just a few weeks ago, my husband and I returned and thought let's give it another chance. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer and again no lemon wedges which is traditional in Italian restaurants. We asked for them and by the time they arrived, the calamari were ice cold. The frying oil also probably needs to be changed also as the smell overwhelmed the food. The waitress told us that French onion soup was an option as a side in lieu of salad before our entre. When the bill came, we were charged $4 for a cup of soup. She should have mentioned that there was an up charge. I ordered the shrimp scampi which was served with raw/jarred garlic and diced tomatoes. The shrimp were overcooked and tough and the pasta was overcooked. I couldn't eat it at all. The waitress noticed I didn't eat it and offered to take it off the bill and bring me something else. At that point, I had lost my appetite. My husband's marsala sauce was gelatinous. Chicken was decent. The red dipping sauce for the bread has a Mexican spice flavor and strange but the bread is very good. I filled up on that as I didn't eat my entree. Finally, we ordered a slice of the NY style cheesecake with berries. It arrived with a huge dollop of whipped cream and some berry juice. The fresh whipped cream had gone flat and melted all over the plate and slice and looked so unappetizing. Didn't the waitress notice this? I asked where the berries were, and she took the slice and returned a few minutes later with slices of a fresh strawberry thrown on top. The cheesecake had a refrigerator taste as well. Average entree is $25 - $35 too! This area needs more restaurants!!! read more

I was visiting Florence, AZ and my friend took me to Valentino's Eatery. The inside portion was very busy so I decided to eat outside. The attitude of the staff was really outstanding! Anything we wanted they were very accommodating! Our server set up an outside table with tablecloth, silverware and fresh bread with butter/dipping sauce. The hostess and our server was excellent. The menu is incredible. You can have fish, meat, pizza-just about anything you want. I started with one of the best Shrimp Cocktails I have ever had. Huge (Tiger Prawn Size) Shrimp with a house made cocktail sauce-yum. A great little salad with greens (no iceberg lettuce), followed by Stuffed Shells with a house made sauce. Let's not forget the house made Mud Pie. Best I ever had! My friend had the Chocolate Pie-WOW! My friend had these huge boneless Pork Chops that looked outstanding but were dry and overcooked. Another table had an issue with their Chicken Parmesan, also dry and overcooked. The server apologized and made it right! That is why I am keeping this at 5 stars! It is such a pleasure to eat at a restaurant where everyone working there cares about their customers. Valentino's Eatery is a great family run restaurant. Very clean with professional staff. We are new to the area and gave Valentinos a try tonight. Reading the reviews I decided to call ahead for a reservation since it was a Saturday. Good thing I did because it was busy. The staff was very friendly. Clean pleasant environment with slightly dim lighting good for a date night. There was outdoor dinning available which we will try in cooler weather. Really nice specialty drink selection . I had a chocolate martini, some garlic bread and chicken piccata. Everything was very good. Come hungry because the portions are large. I really liked this place. Located on Hunt highway in Florence, AZ. We drove less than 10 minutes to get there. Plenty of parking, and easy to find. Greeted at the door by friendly staff and seated immediately. Ordered a bottle of wine, came to the table right away. Server was very friendly and attentive. Our appitizer came quickly (My only complaint, the Calamari was a little chewy and could have been cooked maybe 1-2 minutes longer. Main course came quickly, food was hot and tasty. Good quantity of food served on the plate. *Side note, When one of the staff seen my wine glass was empty, she offered to refill my glass. Nice touch. Great decor, ambient lighting, good lively crowd. Pricing wasn't too bad, considering this Biden trainwreck economy. Don't waste your money or time here. They are understaffed and the pizza had no flavor. The waitress brought us a used pizza box for our leftover pizza! I told her about it and she didn't even apologize. It was full of grease, cheese and sauce when I opened the pizza box! That is disgusting! I've never experienced anything like that in my life. The waitress never offered to bring us another drink and never refilled our water. I had to ask three times for lemons before I received them. The bathroom had no toilet paper and no extra stock anywhere in the bathroom. It was filthy dirty so I can't imagine how dirty the kitchen is. Have you ever had a bad ribeye steak? I personally have never until last night...ordered the ribeye steak it said it came with mushrooms on top which I thought I would like...when placed in front of me I saw nothing that resembled grilling of any kind and it sat in some kind of sauce...it turned out to be the most disgusting steak I have ever had, so much fat it was ridiculous! I also ordered the garlic potatoes that were over salted and tasted like they were old. My husband ordered the lasagna he says had to be 2 days old, the noodles were super tough. Ordered my 3 yr old granddaughter the kids spaghetti, this kid loves spaghetti! She took a couple of bites and wouldn't eat anymore. At the end of dinner I promised her a fudge sundae...I don't know about you but once you promise a child something they really want you make sure they get it to avoid a meltdown or tantrum....so when ordering the sundae, we asked for extra cherries upon getting the sundae there were raspberries on it instead of cherries! Did the serve think this child wouldn't notice or it wouldn't matter! Guess again!! Ordered bread with oil and balsamic halfway through the meal I had to remind the server about it. We haven't been to Valentino's Eatery in several years so we took some friends here for a monthly outing. I love the store. Its medium size with lots of windows. Tables are covered in black cloth with paper top. Tonight they had a sax player that provided awesome soft background music. We were next to him and could easily have a conversation. We arrived at 5:00 and we didn't have a reservation strongly suggest getting a reservation as they filled quickly by 6:00. We ordered a Drambui as listed on the drink menu only to find they don't carry it (anymore?) I drink Dr Pepper and the machine broke after I ordered it. Positive experience: food was good and lots of it. The calamari was undercooked and we returned it. Negative experience: had to ask 3x for bread refills and drinks. Our server was busy but we had problems getting her attention. Dinner lasted 2 1/4 hours which was way too long. Many groups of the same size were in and out way before us. Valentio's Eatery is out of our way from the East valley so I'm not sure if/when we'll get back. read more

It has been several years since we last dined at Valentino's and we won't be going back again. We made a last minute decision to have a "date night" and showed up without a reservation (Saturday). Although busy, they gave us a table for two and service was good. The restaurant was very busy so we didn't have a server pestering us as one sometimes gets at restaurants. Unfortunately, the food was less than satisfactory. I ordered the prime rib not knowing it was $42.00 and it was the worst I've ever been served - tough, grizzly hard to cut and bordering on rare when I ordered medium. Wife had a pasta dish with clams and the supposed white sauce was broth like, not her description of a sauce. The calamari appetizer and salad that accompanied the dinner was good. We shared a piece of coconut cream pie which did not taste home made as per the menu. We were truly disappointed with the food's quality which is unfortunate as we like to support local businesses. read more

I've lived in this neighborhood for four years and this is the first time I went to Valentino's. It is great, I am kicking myself for not going sooner. The food that we had was excellent. My kids (and wife) are fussy eaters but they are without any complaints. I will remind of that when they eat my cooking. The salads were nice, but simple. The lasagna was good. Perfect size for lunch. My husband was not impressed with the fried fish. He's not a fan of thin filets - he prefers the thicker pieces.
