Has been for a long time the parking is always horrible and we had to park a block away, but after walking in, we were quickly seated and brought salsa and chips. From there on everything kind of went downhill with service. We ordered our food after about 10 minutes of people walking by us and then we ordered a cheese crisp that we're supposed to come before the meal that took 20 more minutes to come. And then our food took another 25 min after that. After being there almost an hour we finally got all of our food. The food was not bad it just felt as though it was under seasoned and nothing to write home about. Definitely would not tell people you to not try it it's just something I will never try again. Really too bad because being that it's local I was really hoping it was gonna be better. read more

It's been a while since my last review. We only get over here a few times a year and it's still my favorite. We stopped in for Taco Tuesday - they are currently offering $3 tacos. I had ground beef, and the Hubbs opted for the shredded beef. They also offer individual squares of the Pollo Fundido aka carte, so I opted for one. Paired with margaritas (house for me, chamoy mango for the Hubbs), it was just right. Shout out to Manny who always takes good care of us! Another delightful meal! read more

First time at LB Cantina. Cozy house converted into a restaurant about 40 years ago. They have a covered patio and street parking. Thursday evening and place is crowded with lots of local folks. Place is clearly a local favorite. Server was helpful and decided to order the pollo fundido. It is like a chimichanga, except the pieces are cut and topped a spicy jalapeno cream cheese sauce. I opted for two pieces with rice and beans. Salsa and complimentary chips were tasty. Went through those in about 20 minutes. Hmm, where is the food? Thinking, hey they are busy and maybe they are cooking this from scratch. Food shows up. The pollo fundido was just as described. The spicy cream cheese sauce was great. Only finished one, the other hopefully for lunch. Left most of the rice and beans. Overall a good choice for dinner. Will skip the rice and beans. Front end service for me was good. They add a 3.5 percent surcharge if using a credit card. Couple of other restaurants still on my list when visiting Florence. read more

We've been going here since we were kids, and for the last 4 years, with our 6 lb service animal pup. The last time we were here, a woman we've never seen before was working and threw us out after we were already seated by the hostess and served our chips & dip. Now there are many ways to throw regular customers out of a restaurant. None of them are appropriate, but the manner in which this rabid Wolverine of a woman spoke to us was INSANE, rude and disrespectful. We were sitting alone outside, no other customers in the restaurant and she had the nerve to say the other customers are allergic to our hypoallergenic pup. Again, INSANE. I think the fact that we tolerated their mediocre food all these years and were regular customers should have bought us some respect, but apparently not at L&B. Very disappointing. read more

Met with some old friends for lunch. They came up from Tucson, I came down from Queen Creek. Parking on the street, not the greatest. This place has been around a long time, and I like the comfortable, vintage aura. Ordered the chili relleno and enchilada combo. Decent cheese enchilada, very good relleno. Beans mediocre at best, didn't have a freshly made flavor, rather dry. Rice not good at all. Dry, crusty. I prefer fluffy! Service was okay. They were kind enough to allow us to sit and talk for hours, and I appreciate that. Food was okay, average. Still a good meeting spot. read more

I've eaten at LB's probably 10 times over the past decade, and they are consistently busy, locally-oriented, and the service is usually pretty good. However, the food is oriented toward the snowbird crowd, and the spice and flavor level is pretty low compared to many places. Why do we go back? There's few options in Florence. read more

We came here on a whim and were a bit disappointed. The atmosphere on the patio is great and the service is excellent and that's about where the awesomeness ends. The food is substandard, tacos are certainly not authentic or traditional and the beans and rice taste like they are just warmed up. Rice flavor was like it came straight out of a premixed bag and the beans were like Rosarita. While Taco Tuesday offers a pitcher of margaritas and two tacos with rice and beans for two, it isn't great. read more

Looooove LB Cantina. I must admit, things were looking a little bleak late Saturday afternoon on the food front. Had a long drive across southern AZ and pulled-up in Florence expecting some sort of pulse. Found it at the LB Cantina. Lovely service from start to finish. Everybody on the back patio having a great time, sharing a happy, colorful hour with birds in the trees and tasty food in our bellies. I had the starter platter and some delicious dessert I can't even remember the name of. What I can tell you is that I couldn't finish everything and virtually rolled ourselves back to the car for the journey back to the big smoke. If I'm ever in Florence again, I'm stopping in. Drove 90 miles to eat in Globe but found Guayo's El Rey closed for vacation. Went on to Florence and tried LB Cantina. Prices were almost double what you'd pay for much better food in Globe. Two item combinations were in the $16-$23 range. Plus drink. Steep for a lunch. They did offer two lunch specials. Pork chops (?) or a bean burro. I had the $8 burro special, enchilada style, which came with rice. I added a ground beef taco ($5.50). So $13.50 plus $3.50 for drink. A $17 lunch. Taco was decent. Rice just so-so and bean burro was just OK. My wife got a plain bean and cheese burro without sauce and said the flour tortilla was dry. Place was not busy, but servers were yakking, so service was a bit slow. Overall it was disappointing. Especially when compared to Guayo's. LB's suffers by comparison to almost all Globe Mexican restaurants. read more

Food - Good Service- we made reservations for, and had a party of 10, for prime rib night out on the patio. We arrived early to arrange all of the seating for a group of 10. After about 10 minutes, we were seated with only nine chairs at the table. We told the hostess we needed another chair. After repeated request she told us an extra chair was not available, and the person would have to stand for his dinner. Looking around us, there was a table of eight people with 2 extra chairs that were not being used. We told her there was 2 extra chairs there, and the hostess suggested that they reserve 10 chairs, and that belong to their table. Of course, I am thinking, "are you serious?" Additionally, looking around the patio there were numerous tables with an extra chair or 2 at their tables. The hostess continually said, no, there are no extra chairs, your 10th person will have to stand for dinner. The lead singer of the band right next to our table seen the commotion, came over and gave his personal chair to our 10th person. Ambiance - inside the restaurant, they ambience is pathetic at best. Out on the patio, the ambience is good with older chairs and tables for the clients. A bit rustic on the patio, but pleasant. When we receive the bill, they put an automatic 20% gratuity on because of the party size, at 20%, and they added a liquor tax on top of all taxes in addition. We have supported the L B Cantina, and the owner Joe for years. I think we're finished with him though. read more

First off, let me say the food was very good. We came here at the recommendation of a friend. We got seated quickly, and our drink order was taken. Several other parties came in after us and had their food orders taken while we still sat. Finally, we called one of the wait staff over and asked if we could order. He went and got our waitress, who came over with an attitude as if we were bothering her. No apology for making us wait either. But as I said at the beginning, the food was quite good, just the poor service being the reason for 3 stars. Will we be back? Maybe, but who knows. read more

The food here is amazing, but don't be in a hurry! It was a fun outdoor dining experience, but it took forever to place order, then they brought out 2 at a time for our large table. One order was forgotten completely. They quickly made it though. The food is 4-5 stars yummy and descent price. The reviews from coworkers were good, so I thought I'd give this place a try. Waiting 10 minutes without any type of greeting, was strike #1! I figured when a take out order was brought out for pick up that I would at the very least be greeted. Nope! Maybe they're just too busy to realize that an elite Yelper was in their presence??? Strike #2! Last chance was given to the 5 or so employees running around, but no greeting at ALL! Strike #3! The place looked like a nice place to hang out, eat, and break bread or gas, but I'll never know. Bad service supersedes everything else. read more

After finding our regular Florence eatery was closed we decided to try out LB Cantina. As soon as we entered it smelled like grease! That should have been our cue to turn around and hightail it out of there. But we decided to give the place a fair chance. Our poor waiter was harried, working the floor alone and literally running from table to table and to the kitchen. Very nice young guy, trying his best. My friend ordered a quesadilla special they were offering and it was so saturated with grease it was inedible. Another ordered a burrito with chicken. She was also unable to eat her meal. The chicken was like rubber and it was filled with basically raw peppers and onions. Not like any burrito I've ever seen. I tried the chicken fundido, the outside was very over cooked, crispy and dark brown. The chicken inside was not bad. As Mexican restaurants go, this was about the worst I've ever been to. Nothing would make me give them a second chance. Also, I found out the grumpy old man at the door is the owner. No wonder he can't find more help or someone in the kitchen who actually knows how to cook! Do yourself a favor and don't bother spending your hard earned money at this place! read more

We passed through Florence and stopped here because of the reviews. I don't know what all of the hype was about. The salsa was not great. I prefer a chunky salsa and this was more like el pato. We ordered a cheese crisp for the table that was very hard and not very good. The hubby and I shared a beef chimi. It was ok but the fried part tasted kind of wired. Like the frying oil was old or something. The beans were pretty good. My kids enjoyed their burritos. read more

Where do I begin? I eat here multiple times per week! I believe I've tried most everything on the menu but my favorites are the Friday special of calabicitas. All if the standard items are great, tacos, fajitas, enchiladas and tamales. The pork green chili burrito should not be missed! They have wonderful patio seating when the weather is good with a delightful fountain and a small stage for live music (also in the good weather season) The service is fantastic!! read more

The food in this little place was a four point five on my vast Mexican restaurant knowledge. My burrito was giant and complete with a homemade tortilla. Seems like this place accommodates bigger groups 5 people or more) pretty well, and nice outdoor seating options. Food wise i was hoping for more flavor. Shredded beef chimi w enchilada sauce had more taste of tortilla than flavored meat. Beans were ok...kids food prices and options are good.
