Nice place to eat. Small town feel in a small town. Supporting local business. I like to eat local when I go out of town. Modest selection on the menu. Not too much but enough. Only hitch was it seemed the wait staff was a little overwhelmed and it took about 10 minutes to be greeted by our server. Very kind and apologetic, though. Food was pretty good, but some of the dishes were a little more pricy than that compared to what I am used for the same dish at home. Overall: good visit. Good food. read more

Recently visited on a busy Thursday night. Past visits have been good. Service was friendly but our waiter had issues getting drinks right. We were given as many servings of salsa and chips as we could eat. Not the normal chunky salsa, but very good all the same. Chips were great. Water tasted like it came out of an aquarium, but the draft Dos Equis was excellent. My wife's chicken tacos were nearly inedible - dripping with grease, the shell and the chicken meat were fried to the point of being brittle. I had chicken fajitas that were pretty good, however was served with only 1 very large tortilla. Veggies were a bit overdone but otherwise was good. Had dinner here for the first time with my wife recently. Found the food just not good. When we try a new Mexican restaurant, we usually order a good mix of items off the menu. We found the chicken enchiladas stuffed with a tasteless mush of chicken buried in a strong unappetizing red sauce. Our shredded beef tacos were ok except the beef was mushy and had no flavor. My tamale was dry and again buried in that red sauce. And lastly, what they call a chile relleno isn't even close. It's more like a breakfast omelet with some strips of chile inside the scrambled eggs with a little cheese on top. This was not edible and doesn't even resemble a chile relleno. They did not charge us for the relleno's after we didn't eat them and complained. Thank you. One thing they got right, the service was excellent. read more

I've been twice and really enjoyed the food. The burrito I had last time was the best since moving to Arizona 11 months ago. The chicken inside was moist and tender. The service was excellent and on both visits, the waiter and waitress always checked on us to see if we needed anything else. We went there on a friend's recommendation on a Tuesday evening. Restaurant was moderately busy, but service was prompt and attentive. Chips and salsa were fresh and tasty. I've been coming here since 2008 and I would have to say that tonight's food was the worst ever. I never had a taco salad were there meat was colder than the salad. Ate about 1/8 and had to stop. I was going to give them the benefit of the doubt but when I asked for a box they bring me something that will fit something flat so I asked for something else and they brought me one of those aluminum bowl that you would see for pasta and aluminum foil to cover it. Are you kidding me! Are you telling me that nobody has ever order a taco salad to go? They have to have something else but the phrase goes 1st time shame on you 2nd time shame on me. One of the worst take out experiences I've ever had, and I wish I was saying that lightly. My boyfriend and I had eaten here before and when we dined in the food was decent and so I decided to come back to get us some food to go. I called ahead and ordered 8 tacos and a side of rice and beans, and I was not told the total over the phone. I got to the restaurant just to discover that they were charging me about $50 for only 8 tacos with rice and beans!! I couldn't believe how ridiculously expensive the food was, but was even more disappointed in the quality. I got back to my boyfriend's place to surprise him with food and the tacos were less than subpar. They were all on hard shells (when they are traditionally supposed to be corn tortillas?) and they were dry. And of course to top it all off, they forgot to give me the side of rice and beans they CHARGED me for. I will not be going back here for takeout again, it was severely disappointing. read more

I have been here a few times when visiting from Calgary, AB Canada. My Canadian friend brought me to this bit of culinary heaven Southwest Mexican style. It is a short drive from San Tan Valley to Florence. Travel past the prisons where the most ironic scenario exists that I have ever seen: prison yard backing onto a parking lot and Sonic. Also, there is a shop with prisoner-made goods. Never checked it out, but could be interesting!. Old Main St.of Florence looks like it could be intriguing! Damn!! OK, now the food. The fundido is to die for - enough on a plate for 4. See pic. The rich cream cheese and seasoning is "unpossible," but there it is! The machaca is epic as well. Chimichanga, beef, which I had today was very nice but not exciting. Again it was good and made better thanks to my dining-man's (aka wingman) order of grilled jalapeños! Fajita platter is so hot that there is no chance the meal will cool! Still sizzles as juices drip from the fresh tortilla.Damn!! The complimentary chips and delicious salsa are refilled until you say STOP! Damn!! The unsweetened tea, which does not exist in Canada, that I have ever tried. A can of Brisk or Nestea is not even close. Plus it is unlimited refills! Damn!! Get out to the LB Cantina ( as it now named) and fill your middle with the aforementioned goodness! I have a hard time giving 2 stars to a place with great food. I am really at the point of no return here even if food is great. When we first walked in the hostess in red shirt did not great us or smile. She grabbed the menus and tossed them down and walked away. Not even a word yet. She came back asked what we wanted to drink hand on her hip again no smile or greeting. Waitress comes by in green shirt again no greeting just " are you ready" and we were not she literaly sighed and walked away. Two other people came in and same scenario and they looked at us and we all just laughed. There is girl here maroon shirt she smiled while washing windows. The taco's are okay, they sort of remind me of Carolines as you can get them deep fried, but the service is poor and the rest of the food is just so so. They are sort of a one trick pony, so after moving out to Florence and going a few times after a while you'll realize it's not even on your list of places you think of anymore when trying to decide where to get a bite. Called out to LB to see if they would be open since the state restaurants are on lock down because of the Corona virus. Joe said they are open for take out only. He said it would be great to have us come out for a meal. We decided to pack our folding chairs and folding table and took a late morning drive to be there for lunch. Met Olivia and Justine and Joe was cooking. We placed our orders with drinks and when the food was ready we went to the park across the street and had a fantastic picnic. They furnished plates, utensils and all the trimmings, even a table cloth. Their food is outstanding, seasoned perfectly, fresh, hot and done to perfection. If you are looking for a great close get away for a fantastic meal head out to LB Cantina and have a meal in the park right across the street. This place is great and of the best around this area. Been coming here for 10 plus years and never had a bad meal. The margaritas pitchers are the good to for drinks and the last time here had the chili rellenos which are really great. Also the tamales are one of the best in AZ. read more

Shoes has been here twice. I can't seem to find a dish that suits me. The service is great, atmosphere great (except the bathroom, it stinks!). I like the wide open seating spacing. The salsa, so so. Excellent! We make the drive out to Florence just to come to LB Cantina. A good measure of any Sonoran style Mexican restaurant is the chimichanga and they get this better than right! If you like that, try the fundido and thank me later. Great chips & salsa and wonderful service. There are nights when they are not busy at all in the non-snowbird season and there are nights where they are swamped (because they're the best in town) and we receive the same level of service and quality of food. In particular, their server Justene is amazing and goes above and beyond for her tables! This is well worth a try.
