The food is amazing and the margaritas are the best! Lots of other Mexican restaurants in the area but this one is the best!

LB Cantina has recipes that are over 40 years old! Their entrees are delicious, and the servers and staff love what they do. It is a fun and friendly atmosphere, that is most definitely family-oriented. It also has a saloon that is great for drinks, or a quick get together with friends. The recent renovations, remodels and changes have really brought out the strengths in this restaurant. The cheese enchiladas are my favorite! First off, the salsa was terrible. I ordered a chicken enchilada with rice and beans. There appeared to be no chicken in the enchilada and very little sauce. I also ordered a tamale with the above dish. Strangest tamale ever and again no sauce. My wife had the chile relleno and it was so, so. On a better note the margarita was very good, a bit expensive. Chips are too thick. Salsa has no flavor just kick. They need to add some garlic to it. Pollo fundito was all tortilla and barely any chicken. Spanish rice was just plain colored rice, flavorless. The lime in the water was nice. The staff were friendly. We didn't get sick. That was the good part. The food was boring. Everything tasted like it was out of a can or frozen. Amid the bustle of Main Street in Florence, across the street from the Agricultural Museum, lies LB's Mexican Cantina, where prison guards mingle with retirees and a few exhausted hikers (we count among the latter). As my partner dug into his egg-wrapped chile relleno and I realized that my patty melt was much more than an American afterthought, I became mesmerized by the tremendous kitsch mural of the Superstition Mountains boldly painted along the patio wall. LB's is probably the best Mexican in the vast, sparsely populated (not counting the incarcerated) desert no-man's-land between Tucson and Phoenix, and while they might not have fierce competition, their salsa is slow-burning, fresh and goodly enough to bring me back should I ever have a hankering to climb the Flat Iron again. read more

I've been here a couple times, the food is best described as Tex-Mex. It's not great, but the main reason to go here is limited alternatives in Florence. I have enjoyed the machacas plate, but the other food I've had here is mediocre. That said, the atmosphere is usually pleasant if you're looking to go somewhere with a group of people. read more

This place is pretty mediocre all the way from the chips and salsa to the meal itself. I've been a couple times now and my most recent meal was over cooked, both our appetizer cheese crisp and both of our orders of fundido. I had ordered shredded beef and got chicken instead, surprise! Your options in Florence are limited and this is one of the better options. I'm hoping at some point we start seeing some hidden gem type restaurants pop up in the area because this isn't really cutting it. read more

The chips were decent, but the salsa tasted like spicy marinara sauce. The employees were nice and the server was quick about getting us more chips and water. I definitely recommend the chorizo burrito. The three star is for the salad. read more

Decent food at pretty good prices. I would return. Had their chicken taco salad which comes in a tortilla bowl. Salad did not come with any dressing, but the hot sauce was good enough. Didn't like their salsa since it tasted more like Italian marinara. Lot of people were ordering a chicken dish, think it was Pollo Fundido (?) which the waiter said was their most popular dish. Service was poor. Ordered fajitas and they came out hot and sizzling. Unfortunately Blythe time we were given tortillas, a plate and the sides they were cold. Our server forgot us and when asked about it there was not a rush or apology, she seemed upset at us . The other dishes ordered were bland. Went to LB Cantina for the first time yesterday. The food was really great and the service was even better. Definitely will go back.

Food is really good. However new owner has the staff scared and running around and distracted. Uncomfortable atmosphere. Asked for a Cadillac margarita and charged 17.50!!! Previously 8.00. No warning. The owner needs to relax and give the very experienced staff a break. And get back the way it used to be. read more

This is a wonderful little find recommended to us from a business just up the road, again its not perfect, small but friendly, staff are attentive and the food is good, have to say I enjoy the tacos because the meat has flavor, most places you go and the meat in taco's is bland, not here its great. This has to be the worst Mexican food that we have ever eaten! Cold, tasteless, watered down Patron SilverMargaritas and stale Tortilla chips.. The Guacamole was tasteless, the appetizers tasted like,they were weeks old And heated up in a microwave, but served cold...we drove all the way from queen Creek..I,would rather have eaten at Taco Bell....This place has some serious problems with morale and attitude too! my taco,salad was "gross, soggy and tasteless, and the chicken tasted like shoe leather and cheap, Cheap, cheap meat....the quality of the food is a 1 star.....you should be Ashamed of yourselves.....the waitress was actually pleasant....I feel bad for her to serve this lousy of food!!!!' read more

Got takeout here one day for lunch while visiting my folks down at Desert Gardens. Helpful staff, good service, great value for the dollar, incredible food. The stuffed chile relleno plate is simply not to be missed, especially if you're a vegetarian. Amazing! Portions for all of our orders were huge --- we packed the hotel fridge with afternoon snacks. We ate here over the summer for a wedding party. The food was good and the atmosphere of the patio was very fun and welcoming. The staff was on top of making sure everyone had what they needed. I didn't get a chance to taste any alcohol because I was the DD. The food was good especially the chimichangas. There was a DJ and plenty of room for dancing on the patio! We called ahead an order for 9 people, 10 mins prior to arriving. After serving drinks, our food arrived sooner than expected. It tasted wonderful, portion sizes were larger than expected and the wait staff were amazing. This restaurant has improved immensely since the last time I went. read more

So finally ate here last night since the switch of owners. I found it to be a much smaller menu, simple to read, and seemingly more American food offered now. I don't know why exactly, but eh (kinda similar to OP). Got chips and salsa, still taste the same and are amazing. They still leave you with garlic breath the next morning, regardless of how many times you brush. Yum! I got the two cheese enchiladas because that's what I have grown up on (I used to get other menu items, but this seemed like the safest bet considering it's a different place). They were good. A lot more cheese than they used to. The sauce was way more mild than before which I wasn't really crazy about, but just glad it wasn't the same nasty red sauce a lot of places use. The beans were super yummy and the rice was just okay. I honestly prefer the rice that L&B used. My friend got the beef mini chimis and seemed to enjoy them. My sister got a carne asada burrito and said it was kinda basic. She was upset that the t-bone steak was no longer a menu item :P My father got a patty melt and fries and seemed to like his food. Everything was pretty good. The interior was all freshly painted and looked nice and service was pretty on point. Not terrible and not stellar. Overall good experience. read more

I love LB Cantina! My husband and I ate there when we were in Florence for the Historic Home Tour. The food was great and the service excellent! I bought salsa to take home it was so good. Very good Mexican food! Stopped by here on our way back to Phoenix from Biosphere. My boyfriend commented that this is some of the best Mexican food he has ever had. Our waiter was great. Very attentive despite being the only server/busser. read more
