Run as fast as you can from Taco Bell to this true authentic mom and pop. Food is prepared as it would be for their own family. Place had a continuous train of locals and takeaway: after being attentively served and rapidly provided amazing Mexican food ZI had no doubts as to why. Now that I know about this gem of a Mexican restaurant in Comstock the highway chain restaurants will never see my business again when I am within 20 miles!

Two tacos w beans and rice...mmm good

Great place for authentic and very tasty mexican food. I had the tacos with beans and rice as a side. Looked like too much to eat but it was so good there was nothing but some some hot sauce on the plate I will come back. I am flying out of Kazoo and this relatively close to my hotel so it worked out great No booze, beer or wine but worth the stop for some great vittles :)

The review from Tristan is so out of touch. Tristan sounds like they wished Cracker Barrel served Mexican good. Flavorless! Valentina"s is Amazing. This is truly Authentic Mexican food at its best. Everything is freshly cooked and the service is fantastic! They have a great variety to choose from. This is a must try great family owned restaurant.

Steak burrito, refried beans, and rice

Having recently retrieved a birthday cake from the bakery next door, we saw that the long abandoned building had been painted orange and an unfamiliar restaurant was now there. We were intrigued and determined to return to check it out. The restaurant has tables, booths, and a handful of stools at the counter. As you enter, the kitchen is left and at the rear of the building. The bathroom is to the right, past the furnace and booths. The interior is appropriately decorated. And yes, there is a furnace situated in the eating area. Chips and salsa, complimentary at every other Tex Mex restaurant in the area, cost $1 here. The chips were okay, the salsa was substantial and had some heat. My girl ordered the wet burrito with steak; I had the fish tacos. We were the only customers present mid afternoon besides a woman who came in later for take out. Unless we are eating in a restaurant with an open kitchen, we are generally fairly oblivious to the process of food prep in a kitchen before we get our food. This time, however, it was unavoidable: we counted six sequences of microwaving (from the initial "beep beep beep" as the cycle is being programmed to the end of the cycle "bbbeeeppp"). These were not sounds to inspire us. And everything arrived at our table at different temperatures. Some things (rice, burrito) were too hot to immediately eat; other things (refried beans, my tacos) were lukewarm. Eating from our own plates and sampling our companion's meal, we agreed that the food was altogether too salty. I was disappointed in the fish tacos. The menu described them as containing "grilled chili lime tilapia...and chipotle mayo." I was expecting a touch of heat; there was none. What it looked like was the "FPI Pan Seared Chili Lime Tilapia" that Gordon Food Service sells. What I tasted - and it may have been the fish or the mayo sauce or both - was salt. For us, La Finca is the benchmark for Tex Mex restaurants locally. Valentina's did not convince us to switch loyalties from La Finca to them.

Great food....Tex Mex at it's best! Fresh tortillas and great sauce, both red and verde (Green). The people are friendly and the food makes the trip worthwhile.

Salsa is fresh and has a nice heat to it. Chips fresh

Great food, we've only done carry out but have had great service and food each time. The prices are reasonable and the Portions are larg.

(Review was written pre-COVID)…read more My boyfriend's family always has a Christmas party at this location of Main Street Pub each year. We take over their private room in the back and usually have quite a large group. Last year we had a smaller (but still rowdy) group! We had a few designated servers and they were all great, keeping track of multiple open tabs for different family members and making sure glasses were refilled, everyone had their food, etc. The menu at Main Street Pub is pretty large and varied with lots of sandwiches, wraps, flatbreads, salads, entrees, and appetizers. We usually do a pick three appetizer platter. This time we got it with cheese curds, mushrooms, and pretzel bites. They were all good and basic bar fare - deep fried and hot. I ordered the wet burrito for my dinner and my boyfriend got one of the wraps. The burrito was not quite what I was hoping for - the tortilla was a little dry inside but there was plenty of sauce and cheese on the outside. I was hoping for one of the thinner stretchier tortillas like you find at typical tex-mex places. I wouldn't get the burrito again but I've had other menu items that are good like the ranch fritter wrap. I just wanted to give a huge shout out to the staff working that night because they were on top of things even with our big group!

It took us for what seemed like forever to get to Wax Wings during the many visits over the years…read moreback home to Kalamazoo as I normally have a jammed packed schedule and then their hours don't line up when I am available. Finally we made it there and loved it. Ben and I both asked each other how it took us that long to make it happen. During this visit to Michigan, I was with just my Dad and he wanted to visit his bestie that lived close by so I drove him over there and I left to go get some sours while they talked and caught up on their own. I felt it was gonna be way more fun drinking alone than sitting around listening to two old grumps talk about the same stories of their younger days that I have heard over and over as a child. LOL. I was 100% correct. When I was talking in, I normally there was a food truck outside and behind that they were setting up for a wrestling match. I kinda thought it was funny because that is just something Ben would have loved to stay for if he had been with me. Inside was fairly business with everyone there getting ready for the matches but that didn't disrupt the friendly service that I had the first time I was there. Even though I haven't been to Wax Wings many times, each of the sours that I have tried have been delicious, I even brought some canned home with me to Florida!!! I look forward to the next visit!
