Beautiful restaurant. Flavors were pretty good overall. I had the small bowl of noodles with buffalo chicken, broccoli, parmesan, and avocado ceasar. Portion was smaller than a normal child's portion but prices like a pricier adult portion anywhere else. Don't bother with the small bowl unless yiu really just aren't hungry at all or are feeding a very small child. The rice in my husband's bowl was pretty dry so I recommendthe noodles. The chocolate chip cookie was pretty good with a lot of chocolate and good consistency. No drinks other than bottled were available. We came in over an hour before closing and they'd already cleaned out all the other drinks and weren't making some of their food like the coconut chicken anymore. Looks like they were basically ready to close over an hour early. The girl who helped us was friendly and helpful otherwise. Overall, over 30 dollars for 2 very small bowls of food, a cookie, and a bottle of water with a lot of options unavailable - honestly not worth the money in our opinion. read more

Spent $58 on two items at this place and will never order from here again . My açaí bowl was $19 and missing the majority of the toppings- it was partial frozen and the rest was like soup. No pb, no strawberries, no bananas. It did have the coconut and some Nutella. The buffalo wrap was beyond bland and of course they didn't include the ranch , which would have potentially made it edible. Overall, awful and I hate thinking of the $58 i spent to only be hungry afterward. read more

This place is a disaster. My order wasn't finished when I arrived because they were out of Brussels, brisket, sweet potatoes, buffalo chicken. So each bowl was missing an ingredient. The workers were painfully quiet and slow. The bathrooms were in horrible shape. One was out of order with toilet paper all over the floor and toilet. We like to try local restaurants whenever out of town. Instead of Chipotle, we opted for Vale. It's a combination of Fresh Kitchen and Chipotle but without the steak. There were a few things I felt could be better. The store made lemonades had no real taste. I got the braised beef and although it was submerged in sauce, it was still a bit on the dry side. The atmosphere is great. There is music playing but not very loud so that you can hear your conversation. The service was awesome and I even got 10percent off for checking in. If you go online and give them a 5 star review l they will give you a free Açaí bowl. read more

This is one of those places that tries to emphasize healthy food alternatives, but I can't say they nailed it on the head. The service was great and it's a beautiful establishment, the food was just lackluster. The acai bowl had too many ingredients that overpowered one another. The plan was to go to another restaurant nearby. Upon arrival, we found it closed the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Given that there were other restaurants in the area, we walked around and settled on this place. If I'm honest, I wasn't expecting much. It seemed to me to be a healthy version of Chipotle. Not exactly what I wanted to eat when I wanted to have something more filling, more fattening, but eh, we were on a time constraint, so we tried this place. Have to say whoa baby, it was a mélange of flavors that impressed me. I got a sweet earth bowl, which is one of their signature dishes. It had sweet potato noodles, roasted broccoli, teriyaki chicken, and curry honey mustard on the side. He built his own bowl with I forget what. The food was ultimately pretty satisfying and I'm happy to say this is a chain and there's one in South Florida. Definitely will try this chain again. read more

Meh. Not very happy with my experience. Not sure if I'll be a returning customer or recommend this place. We're in Tally for less than 12 hours since we're on tour. Got to our hotel and ordered through DoorDash since the delivery time said 18 min from the restaurant. Ended up waiting a whole hour and some minutes. It wasn't the dashers fault, she was very communicative with us and kept us updated the whole 45 min she waited for our food. Shout out to Khloe, you rock. Usually when restaurants are out of something, they'll call or message you asking if you want a replacement or refund instead. The food was good but the matcha was gross and watered down :( sadnesss We ordered a large lemonade, a matcha latte, a cookie, and two BYO bowls. They included utensils but only one straw. Vale Food offers something really different to the Tallahassee area. They are a health food restaurant that serves mostly fast food. They have one side of the restaurant dedicated to hot food and the other side of the restaurant. I like their inside setup. It's really good spacing, especially during this pandemic. Today I tried a açaí berry smoothie and it was really good. I added protein and honey for a little sweetness. I've recently switched to more of a liquid diet so this place it perfect for me. Food was meh; however, the customer service was awful. I ordered, at $23+, a bowl. The protein was unavailable, which was told to me after I paid my money, and traveled 30 minutes to get the food. I'm told that the protein I ordered was unavailable. I didn't want 2x the same breaded vegan tenders, and nothing other than the shrimp appealed to me. I asked for the shrimp, and was then harassed for the $2 difference. Who: 1 doesn't tell a customer ahead of time that they were out of something; 2 insist that a customer bears the burden when the company, not the customer, was out of a product; and 3, has an attitude when a customer refuses to allow the rude employee to force them into accepting less. Staff was welcoming and efficient, 2 people working and cooking. That is the only reason for even 1 star. I blame the owner/management for the rest, someone needs to go in there and make sure it's cleaned pr show them how it's supposed to be cleaned. The place is filthy, equipment, floors, bathrooms, and the drink station is disgusting and there is mold in the iced tea drinks to see and taste. I can add on the way to Tallahassee we stopped in Gainesville and attempted another location there, to which we walked out of for the same reason and went to Bento instead. Food is good but this location is a mess. Today they were out of: carrots, chickpeas, quinoa, beef, avocado, parmesan, and I forget what else. The ice machine was broken (no ice in the entire restaurant). Holes in the ceiling. The outdoor patio was a mess, including several broken tables with razor sharp edges. The whole place felt dirty. I'd give them five stars, but our protein choices were limited when we arrived for lunch at 11:45. They just weren't ready for us. In fact, we had to wait about 15 minutes before any of the proteins were ready. A large bowl gives you 2 of everything. The base, veggies, protein. A small bowl gives you one of each. The food was excellent. The large bowl was ample without being obscene. The flavors were delicious. I especially enjoyed the Vale Rice and the bbq chicken. The environment is noisy and I found it difficult to hear the serving tossing my options at me. And for such a health conscious restaurant, I was a tad disappointed Vale doesn't have a recycle plan in place. Still, the food is a winner. The price is reasonable. So as far as healthy food, this definitely one of the places in town to visit. FOOD: I was kind of reminded of Chipotle in the since that you walk down a line and tell the staff what you want in your bowl. You have the option to pick a certain number of items more or less like a protein, starch and veggie; or two veggies. I liked that there were protein options for vegetarians. This is my go to when I'm near campus and want something healthy yet satisfying! It's always quick and fresh. They have two sizes, regular ($8, one protein, one base (rice, carb etc), and one veggie) and large ($11, comes with two of each). The large is definitely worth the value since you get twice as much food and it's easy to take leftovers. You can take it to go or eat there (inside or out). They have different stuff from day to day, but some of my favorites are the cauliflower, sriracha chicken meatballs, and their buffalo oomph or tofu (they always have vegan options!). Their rice and quinoa is always solid, and they have other options like sweet potato noodles etc. If you're gluten free or vegan, they definitely have plenty of options for you. I always enjoy whatever I get and feel full but not sick after. The main perk here is that they serve lots of healthy options that are still seasoned well, so you don't feel like you have to choose between healthy and yummy. It's also pretty affordable relative to other things in the area. Lastly, I LOVE that all of their packaging is compostable - I always feel guilty getting take out from places that are still using styrofoam containers (since it's not recyclable). He brought cushions out when we were chilling outside the shop past close, and when we came back for an açaí bowl the next day he was there running the store with just one other employee. One of the worst dining experiences I've had here in Tallahassee. They were out of every single protein, base, and dressing that I had wanted, the sweet potatoes were completely raw, and the brown rice had the consistency of a warm yogurt.
