Armando & his team were incredibly professional - always on-time, communicative and flexible. I'd hire Val-Arm for future work in a heartbeat! read more

About 4 years ago, our general contractor hired Val-Arm to put the walkable roof material on our 4 unit building in Noe Valley in San Francsico. We fired the general contractor and took over communicating with this company. After many promises, he stopped responding. He got paid and didn't finish the job. I don't know why it took me 4 years to find the time to write this review, but I hope it's helpful to others. I agree with all the one star reviews I read here about Val-Arm. Stay away if you want a reliable, honorable company to do business with. They will take your money and not do the contract work. read more

The worst communication. Rarely picks up his phone his voicemail is full and won't allow you to leave messages. Then starts the task of tracking him down to see why he hasn't shown up and figure out when he will say he will be there. Then comes his typical response "yeah I should have probably called you to let you know we weren't coming" Avoid this company as it will cause you nothing but issues. read more

My house had been on the market for just under a year. The problem, limited curb appeal despite recent exterior paint and seasonal flower beds. Val Arm cleaned, cut, and stained my driveway and wrap-around patio. We received three offers within two weeks. I can't prove that their work made the difference, but the coincidence is hard to discount. The driveway and patio look great. The outside used to say, "I'm average." Now, the outside screams "Look at me!" read more

Val-Arm Concrete rescued what could have been a disaster project that started out simple but became very complicated when a room full of unexpected ceramic tile turned up. The two gentlemen who completed my project were skillful and professional. They completed the work ahead of schedule and at a reasonable cost in spite of what turned out to be a major obstacle. I enthusiastically recommend Val-Arm Concretre with a huge "thumbs up." V. Evans read more

So far so good with this company. Thing started a bit rocky but are improving after a few false starts. Just finished my project and I'm satisfied with the end product read more

We had to replace some worn out overlay concrete work that was done about eight years ago. It was cracking in many places and had exposed concrete underneath the overlay in other places. It was beginning to be a hazard as it was easy to get your feet caught in the places where the overlay had cracked. We received two quotes. The quote from Val-Arm was about half of the other quote, so we went with them. We were not disappointed! After setting a date they would begin work, they showed up and ground down the original overlay. Then they noticed that some of the concrete under the overlay was very thin and also very porous. It had to be replaced, which they did for us. After letting it cure for a week they finished up with a new "slurry" type of overlay. This they colored for us and sealed. It looks beautiful and should last a long time. Even with the additional concrete work and expense, they were still quite a bit cheaper than the other price quote and my wife and I are very happy with the results. read more

Armando and Evaristo have done an excellent job with my epoxy flooring. You guys rock ! I would recommend them to anyone who wants to make their garage look the best. read more

Val-Arm removed cracked overlay and then stained and resealed stamped concrete for us. We were very happy with the quality of the work as well and the customer service. The price was right on for us. We would definitely use them again. read more

My husband and I found Val Arm through Home Advisor. Armando came to do the estimate. Armando was so pleasant and stayed on top of his crew the whole process of our job. His crew lead by Serio were so pleasant. They were thorough and did everything quickly, precisely and we would use this team again in a minute. They stripped our pressed stone patio down to the bare bones, acid bathed the stones, restained and put a sealer on with a 5 year warranty. We will call upon Val Arm again. Thanks guys. Horrible experience! Has to be one of the most poorly ran company. Always days or hours late. Then they rush to catch up sacrificing quality. I had paint all down the front of my house and driveway, followed by the product cracking 2 months after and it took months to track the owner down and weeks of failed promises before it was remotely complete. read more

After 2 house floods & ruined wood laminate flooring, I was looking for a cost effective way to make my home look nice with something durable to handle kids & animals along with versatility to make future changes. I decided to have my whole downstairs concrete stained. We were very happy with the entire process. They were honest & fair. Everyone who worked with us at Val-Arm were very professional & thorough. I would definitely recommend & use them again. Thanks so much! read more

I have used Val-Arm twice now to cover my garage floor with epoxy at 2 different homes. Both times the work was outstanding, clean, sleek and professionally done. They were very flexible accommodating my schedule and their prices were the best out there. I would highly recommend using them. I would use them again. read more

Stay away from Val-Arm. Armando is a liar and does not honor his commitments. I have been trying for a year to have him fix his job. He does not answer emails or phone calls timely. I have paid him $12,000 for staining and resealing. Look at the review that Sandra M wrote on 7/8/19. This is a pattern of poor workmanship and lack of follow-up. Again do not use Val-Arm for anything. I also will be contacting the Better Business Bureau and the state licensing authority to report Val-Arm. read more

Love this co. Price is right...the work was amazing. So clean and professional . Sergio went out of his way to please me. Explained everything before he sprayed my patio. The stain looks beautiful. I would give 10 stars. read more

Val-Arm - Drab grey to this... - Masonry/Concrete Near Me

Val-Arm did epoxy for our garage. Had a couple scheduling hiccups due to rain, but overall we're very happy with the service and results--price was fair and it looks amazing. read more

I wrote a previous review on Val-Arm, Inc. Just a heads up for anyone that would be considering this company, THE LICENSE HAS BEEN SUSPENDED, you can verify this at, CSLB.CA.GOV. read more

I hired Val-Arm to do the inside of my home (living/dining/kitchen/bath) due to reviews even though they were more expensive then some other quotes I received. I waited to review because I hoped that I would hear back from them as promised (work done December 4). I had asked for a finish that wouldn't be too slippery and something similar to what I had seen in restaurants. The guy doing the work was not there within the window of time I was told (even after they pushed out the time a day before). I understood that some of the patch work and filled in cracks would show but didn't know that the grind marks would be so obvious and the finish was very flat which easily scratches and has lost color already. I was promised management would review but never heard back from them even after a couple of final attempts on my part. They may do a great job on garages but beware of inside work. I now have to cover as much floor with carpets and save to have it done properly in the future :( read more

Terrible customer service! Kept missing their appointments for initial consultation. Finally came but failed to give estimate as they said they would. Totally wasted my time. read more

Did the epoxy for our garage and the results are amazing. Armando's customer service was excellent. He called after the project was done to make sure that we were satisfied. I would highly recommend Val Arm. read more

We started out knowing very little about concrete resurfacing for our backyard patio. I called Armando and he patiently explained the process to me and gave me a low, no-pressure price once I sent pictures of our backyard. I called 5 other contractors and chose Armando based on his cost, ratings, and general demeanor. The job was completed quickly and looks fantastic. We will use him again for future projects and have already recommended several neighbors to call him. We love the new patio! read more

Armando provided excellent service at a fair price. He was flexible with his schedule and did the job when it was most convenient for us...even after I had to make a last-minute schedule change. But above all of that, his work is fantastic. Our backyard has a new face! The concrete surface that was worn down, cracked and basically an eye-sore is now a beautiful sepia-tinted patio that looks like it cost much more than it actually did. Thanks for job well done. (he's a nice guy, too) read more

I can't say enough, good things, about the job Val-Arm completed for me! Just beautiful! First, the customer service was great, they came at the time they were scheduled, the job was completed very, very nicely! I am so happy, now I have to schedule them to come back out to also restore the concrete finish on another part of the backyard. Valentin, who performed, his magic, repaired cracks in my patio, sanded and added additional cuts, making the drab concrete look like flagstone, it looks so great. The customer service was was both professional, and friendly, the price was right! read more

I had my entire floor done inside my house. I like the color scheme. However, I have been trying to get an appointment with Armando. He called back after a few days, but said that he needed to set an appointment the following week. I showed him the pictures of what is happening to my floor. It is bubbling up and peeling where the new concrete matches the old, which they should have prepped better before putting on the coating. All I am asking the company to do is come and assess it and fix it. Armando has ignored all my calls and text messages since. Obviously, he is not interested in keeping customers happy. If anyone would like to see pictures of this problem before using this company, please feel free to email me at dski4596@yahoo.com. or Call me at 619 876-9710. I will be happy to share my concerns. read more

I hired Val-Arm to repair concrete coating applied by another contractor 8 years ago that was flaking off and looking bad. The scope of work included our front entryway and pool deck. Francisca showed up on time for the estimate and provided excellent advice on how best to tackle the project. She was also always available to answer questions while the work was being performed. Francisco, the person who did the actual repairs, also consistently showed up on time, was polite and cleaned up after himself each day. He removed the flaking concrete coating, patched the areas, re-stained the entire entry way & pool deck and then sealed all surfaces. The finished project exceeded our expectations. read more

Do not use this company! I made an appointment with them for a medium sized cement job (approx 850 sq ft). As I'm getting several bids, I turned down another company who wanted to come at the same time as Val-Arm. The appointment time came and went and Val-Arm did not show nor did they bother to call. They cost me one week's worth of time plus the additional 10 days to get the other company to scope my project. If you're looking for a company that is willing to waste your time, Val-Arm is who you want. If you're looking for a professional, competent company, look elsewhere. read more

5 star review for Val-Arm. I had them do their epoxy chip system on my garage floor and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. They had everything completed on the date they promised and communication with Armando and Pablo was great. Thank you Val-Arm, for your wonderful service, will definitely be recommending your work. read more

Do not hire these guys! When powerwashing the back patio they flooded my house under the French doors and shorted out the electrical. Communication was terrible--impossible to reach. Not professional at all. read more

I gave them one star to get your attention. They are hard to get ahold of initially, but they do show up and they do what you ask of them. However, in my case the overlay work was around a pool. Everything was find up to the point they put the final sealer on. They chose the wet look sealer from Behr. And it was fine until days later we finally cleaned the pool sufficiently to begin to swim. Only then did we find out the sealer gets dangerously slippery when wet. I looked up the Behr specs and it says it is not recommended for decks around pools because it gets too slippery. I called Armando four times and he never returned my calls. I suspect he would never honor his 5 year warranty if he won't even call back on this kind of issue. I my last call, I gave him a few days to call back and said I'd yelp him if he didn't call back. By the way, I find our that one can coat over the Behr sealer with the Deck-o-grip product and it is much better slip-wise and doesn't seem to look much different. I got a sample from the manufacturer to prove this to myself and will soon buy a couple gallons to recoat the entire deck. Thanks for nothing Armando! read more

I contacted Val Arm as my last hope to re-do a stained floor that had been ruined by a poorly applied acrylic sealer. I was so nervous at first because I have dealt with so many unprofessional and inexperienced contractors that I didn't want to end up in another money wasting project delay. But they were the best quote and did an amazing job. I'm actually glad they had to re-stain the floor rather than just do a re-seal because the stain job Arturo did was just what I had hoped for the first time but I ended up with a dark, full of lap lines, white acrylic overspray floor that now looks beautiful. They accommodated my requested time frame for the job in a short notice, they finished as promised even working on Sunday to get it done, and Arturo really cared about making sure the color was exactly what I wanted. He worked hard, was very clean in picking up after himself and had the right experience for the job. This company has people working for them that really want to work for them and love doing what they do. I'm very happy with my floor. I can't stop looking at it. I will definitely contact Val-Arm for another similar project in the future. read more
