Not recommended for Curly hair girlies. My sister called to ask if they could have a curly hair expert stylist. The woman that answered said all hair stylist were curly hair trained. Well they may have been trained but they did not master. I had to show the stylist how to do basic stuff like use the diffuser. Stylist said herself that she did not have a lot of experience doing curly hair. As stylist started doing my sisters hair another one came around I could overhear their conversation they were talking about a client from the past . The hair stylist said that they learned something new. Other stylist said you live and you learn. I know that everyone starts out in the business and make mistakes but what I hate is people lieing. This styles knew nothing about styling curly hair and paid $80 for something I could get at super cuts for less than half. This is not luxury hair styling I know because I've had it in LA. The only reason why I tried it was because I was wanting to find something close by. Will not be coming back.I would recommend going to supercuts next door! read more

Absolutely LOVE Alyssa ! She always makes sure to make you feel comfortable in the chair & makes sure you walk out happy no matter what!

I had the honor of being the first non- surgical replacement client for Vain. I was nervous, skeptical, yet excited, and hopeful that I would once again be comfortable with my hair again. Alyssa explained each part of the hair replacement process. She listened to my concerns, answering all questions thoroughly. Alyssa takes pride in her work. She is very meticulous and that showed from the first time she worked with me. Those traits are the reason I have NEVER had any problems or any regret making the decision to have my hair done at Vain. My first impression of the salon, This is what I said: " The salon is unique. It brings out the best parts of being a woman. You get to feel pampered, special, sexy, especially after your hair is done. Personally, I always feel like getting into a little mischief afterward." Skeptical? Well I suggest you give it a try. All you have to do is make your appointment, walk through the door, leave your worries outside, relax, and allow the stylists to work their magic. read more

Absolutely fabulous Salon, and fantastic haircut! After moving to Ventura several years ago, I have had an incredibly challenging time finding a salon or stylist who knows how to cut thick, long, curly hair like mine. The few people who were taking clients that said they did curly hair, gave me horrible haircuts. I paid a lot of money to get frustrated every time I looked at my hair or tried to deal with it. From the owner Alyssa, to my hair artist Em, and the awesome space - I am one extremely happy client. Couldn't recommend the place strong enough. In one haircut not only did transform two horrible haircuts, I was actually able to walk out of there with an amazing haircut. Usually it takes several visits to fix bad haircuts, but her skills and expertise did the trick in one. Remember, I have very long thick curly hair. Or I did have long hair, until I lost 6 in due to bad haircuts. I 100% recommend Vain. And if you have hair like mine, look no further - Em is your person! read more

I went to Salon Vain for the first time and had a wonderful experience with Kia. The salon is beautiful and Kia is so talented! I will be back!!! read more

I could not be happier with this salon! My whole family gets their hair cut here. Justine cuts both my husband's hair (way better than the 3 other barber shops he tried before!) and my son's hair. I don't know how to express how grateful I am to Justine. My 6 year old son has autism and I have never taken him anywhere that is more patient, kind, and understanding. Justine talks him through everything. She lets him touch things and stops cutting to give him breaks if he needs it. He has gotten more and more comfortable getting a haircut each time. This salon is absolutely a judgment-free zone. Alyssa cuts my hair, and I have never loved it more! She will take the time to figure out what you want and then somehow magically make it happen. She is also totally fine when my son has to come with me if my husband is working. Justine and Alyssa are both amazing!! I have no intention of ever going anywhere else. read more
