I was in search of someone local that could help me get back on track with blonde in a healthy way and also prepare me to get extensions. Cindy did such an amazing job and exceeded my expectations on giving me a healthy blonde baseline with yummy blonde dimension. She also carries an exceptional selection of products so I did purchase a full new set to go with my new hair. Had a consultation with Cindy. I showed up on time and she didnt get to me till 15 minutes later. Than when I sat in the chair she just stood in front of me didn't touch my hair or examine it just right away started telling me what I have to get done and how much hair to cut . She recommended 2 inches so I asked how much is that and I started showing her by grabbing my hair and she said probably that much. I have never had a consultation where the stylist didn't touch your hair to really get the details of what they are working with. The whole consultation felt rushed as if she didn't want me to book with her. In the middle of talking to her someone walked in and she stepped away to talk to them didn't say excuse me or apologize for the interruption. She really wasn't listening to what I wanted just seems like she wanted to get the most money out of me by suggesting services I did not need or want. She wouldn't let me book or talk prices she kept directing me to her website. Salon was dead only her and 1 stylist there working on clients so that tells me everything. Would not recommend. The vibe of the interaction was horrible I felt discriminated against. read more

I appreciated being squeezed in for an appointment quickly and everyone at the salon was very nice. Unfortunately, I came away not with what I expected. I let the stylist know that my hair grabs toner quickly and it can't be left on for too long, now a walk away with greenish hair. She did say it would look better in outdoor lighting and after a hair wash, but I hate that I had to pay for that. Even after a hair washing, my color is funky. The way she shampooed her hair (she has a head full of wavy hair) and made her feel comfortable in the chair was great! I've researched several, if not all, salons and stylists in Ventura when I first moved here and couldn't find an artist that truly understood how to lighten Asian hair without turning it brassy or damaging it completely with bleach. That's when I found Cindy! Her balayage and highlight work stood out to me the most but what really sold me was how soft all of her clients hair looked. My last stylist turned my hair a brassy gold so when I came to her with concerns of warmth and uneven texture, she was able to turn my hair platinum blonde and it felt so soft! My biggest concern with blonde hair was that there was always breakage associated with it as I have naturally black hair. I've had blonde hair for 16 years and experienced major breakage with all artists until I met Cindy. Something about Cindy is that she is extremely patient, communicative, listens to every concern you have, and is the most empathetic mom boss. Plus she's quick with her work and uses non-toxic products in her salon. Her studio gives off all the right vibes and generates positive energy. Sadly disappointing...I brought my wife here in trust they will take care of her but this was just a really bad service. In my opinion I think the stylist is unexperienced and I find it very odd that this place is always empty. My Wife had boxed dyed black long hair and wanted to go back to her natural hair color which is a light brown. The stylist bleached the hair and cut it short and put a toner in a brown color on, so far so good I paid 300$ for that service and we were charged a 30$ fee on top for being late despite calling in 30 minutes prior describing the bad traffic. After only a week my wife's hair turned very red orange. My wife went back to fix this issue with the same stylist and she did another brown color as well as some other toner. Not even a day later my wife's hair started to look green. We went back to get this fixed and the stylist put a very aggressive red color into my wife's hair and left my wife shocked. Goal is light brown and the colors received were orange, red, green and again red. We spent a lot of time here with patience and money to get to the goal and that was just not it. My wife also requested to get a really simple bangs cut which she described with photos prior. The stylist cut the bangs not as my wife wanted it and VERY crooked and it looked totally absurd as if that was the first bangs cut the stylist did. After that the stylist tried to style the bangs for at least 30 minutes which ended up not working at all. After this my wife broke down and left in tears with a really messed up bangs cut that looked super unprofessional and red hair. We tried to fix the issue ourselves after spending 3 months to get to the goal but it didn't work and my wife now has to cut her hair short and go to a new salon where more money has to be spent. It's my wife's birthday now and we are left with a disaster. I would not recommend coming here because it really seems like these people don't know what they're doing. The Stylist name is Jossilyn. I did not want to write a review because she is very nice but the work done was just truly horrible. EDIT/REPLY**** Unfortunately all of this was untrue. I actually offered them food and star bucks all the time if they needed anything due to her working and we both were very grateful. I never stormed off, In fact I didn't go into the salon with her at first. I stayed in the car because I had to listen to recording mixes so I was in the car doing that after that, I met her inside as you can see. So no one stormed off. Also while I was there I was doing the same thing and brought books to continue. She didn't even charge us at the last session and said it was okay to go as you can see in your cameras I pulled out my wallet to go and pay. She clearly saw how bad the hair was and probably felt bad about it. Her feeling unsafe? That's really unfortunate because the whole time we actually laughed and had a good time so far as to say that my wife and her fallowed each other on social media and like each others posts often. With the shower filter my wife was interested in and we bought it on Amazon that night. I'll leave it at that. You are more than welcome to defend as much as you liked but unfortunately the truth is what it is and now we are going elsewhere. There was so much that was not true about your comment and I have no need to defend myself what so ever. I am not a liar and there would no need to just wake up and leave a review like this. Made an appointment for blonde highlights. The stylist did not leave me under the dryer long enough, so my hair came out brassy...she was lacking in experience. I paid $150 plus a tip. She said to go home and use a shampoo to get rid of the brassy hair. I called for the owner Cindy to ask for a refund and never got a call back. Do not go there for highlights. I went into this salon out of pure desperation and they had great reviews. I went in and immediately didnt feel welcomed and it just was really off. I am normally a very positive customer and gave them the benefit of the doubt. Anyways, a young girl with very short hair was assisting me (cant remember her name). She didnt smile one bit the entire conversation it was super awkward and I didnt get a good feeling. Still I was trying to be positive bc my regular salon was completely full. Anyways, i explained that i needed a trim and was worried about getting too much cut off. She was like ok, assessed my hair. She then proceeded to tell me that she was going to dry cut my hair which ive never had done. I was trying to trust the process. She cut a good amount of hair and i was super nervous at this point. She said it was a rough chop and would finish after the wash. We went to wash my hair and when I tell yall, it was the WORST WASH ive ever had in my life. My scalp still felt like it had soap in it. During the wash, she had the water ICE COLD and i told her that it was too cold and would like it warm. She responded with, do you always wash your hair with hot water? I was like ummm no but im getting a haircut. Im thinking, its supposed to be a relaxing experience and ice cold water isnt really relaxing. I was so upset that this interaction was so extremely awkward. Thank goodness my son's school called to pick him up bc he was sick. So with wet hair and all i said hey i have to go, my sons school called. She was like ok. Then i was like i will pay u for what you have done. (the rough initial chop and an ice cold hair wash). She continued to charge me $55! I said you didnt finish the service and it literally took max 7 min to rough chop my hair and barely wash my hair. I said ill pay half of what you did and im leaving. She was like it still takes time out of our day. I was like ok but you spent 7 min max on me and youre charging $55? So i paid $25 and left. I feel robbed and disappointed on how they treated me and the service. Never again will i ever come here again. If yall need a salon, go to sky salon in oxnard. They will treat you with respect and love and the vibes are awesome. And no one paid me to write this i just dont want anyone going through what i did. read more

Let me just start with I am disappointed in the response i was given after expressing my dissatisfaction with their services. not only did they use the wrong color requested but after i waited the week to wash my hair, i had massive hair loss and balding. I contacted them for a full refund because of the damage & loss I experienced was not okay. They declined my refund said it was not possible but offered a further treatment for $35 more and add more pigment.Why would i want them to put anything on my hair to risk more damage , Valerie is the one that bleached and dyed it , the owner Cindy is the one who was "monitoring" Valerie going back and fourth which seemed to me she didn't know what she was doing as she kept asking Cindy questions about my hair .
