One of my favorite meals I had in Puerto Rico - so good, in fact, that we ate here twice. We came during happy hour the first time, and I had the strongest margarita of my life here for just $5. This spot is entirely outside, something to be aware of if you're coming on a rainy day like we were. It's a very casual spot here, with a kitchen that's inside an actual food truck. Service was decent as well - we had a little bit of a language barrier but were able to figure things out and order. For some reason the mini nachos here are a standout - idk whether it's the sauces or the fresh chips or the combo of all that, but they were so good that we each got our own portion the second time we came back. Recently relocated to Puerto Rico and was looking forward to trying the local cuisine. Interesting place. High level food truck and beverage bar. They kept the area clean. Ambiance is very relaxed, with gentle breezes from the nearby coastline. Our server was a bit standoff-ish but the other servers that tended to us in her absence were nice. We had the pastor tacos and the empanadas. The empanadas were amazing. Should have just doubled our order of those and passed on the tacos. A great stop after an afternoon on the beach. The outdoor seating is great- loved the casual vibe of the place- lots of lights and some TVs too. Service was good, drinks are not on the menu- so you do have to ask for the options. Food came out fast! We got the fish tacos to share as an appetizer- it came with 2 soft tacos - generous amounts of fish! The slaw and pico was good as well. I got the nacho- pretty average. There wasn't really any spiciness to it- no jalapeños or salsa. So had to add a lot of hot sauce. But the flavor of the dish was good- so at least there was something. When in Puerto Rico try Mexican food lol. Recommend by my cousin a local favorite spot. I am told. It seems to be a popular place. You cam make reservations. They have a capacity limite on restaurants so I recommend to make a reservation. The restaurant is casual. It has an outdoors large section and plenty of parking. They take your temperature and spray your hands with alcohol, no spray no in. masks are required. I ordered fish tacos. It was about seven dollars for two. They came with chips and little side of beans. They where good. They tasted good. I was happy with my selection. The order came in a take-out box . We where a big group of six and we all got a covered take-out box with plastic silverware. I actually liked that. It felt safe. My cousin ordered the sangria. They brought him a big bottle lol. Vagón is my go-to casual spot in Dorado. I alternate between the fish tacos and the Texas chicken tacos, because they're both amazing. I've also enjoyed everything from the quesadillas to the Nachos Machos which are indeed macho - more than I can eat alone. They have a covered outdoor patio, as well as an uncovered section for when you want to enjoy the sunshine. They also have live music on Thursdays and the vibe is fantastic. They have great friendly service in Spanish and English, and the atmosphere is always fun and relaxed. We love tacos so this Yelp suggestion was spot on! This was for sure our best meal during our time in Dorado! My husband had Tacos de Ceviche which were SO flavorful, the perfect ceviche flavors in a soft shell. I had Tacos el Pastor - which was pork with pineapple, onion and cilantro on wonderful corn tortillas. The flavors were amazing and just what I was craving! They have a great collection of local beers that my husband really appreciated and has asked to go back! Flaky on the inside and the light smoky crust on the outside, this was definitely worth the money. fried fish taco + ceviche taco ($12) The fried fish (whitefish) was the star of this dish, but the ceviche was also well balanced. The breading was very good and perfectly crispy with every bite - something that is rare for any fried food, as usually the breading gets soggy after a while. The ceviche was well balanced with citrus and a good dose of heat in the form of jalepenos. fried fish sandwich ($12) As you can probably tell, fried + fish = a staple at Vagon. Great value!! Two sandwiches for only $12. Same as before, the breading was spot on and extremely crunchy, and the fish was steaming hot. The mayonnaise was also very good. tacos al Pastor ($10) The roasted pork was mediocre - not particularly flavorful, and nothing really stood out in this dish. The tacos were good; not anything spectacular, but good. The nachos however, were effin' AWESOME!!! It was something about the flavor of the chicken used was sooooo good. You know how good they were? As I got pretty full, I couldn't finish it all. So my sister later ate some of it and it was still good COLD!! No lie. I had another bite just to test it because I couldn't believe that cold nachos would still be that good -- I was proven wrong. They were delicious. We bragged to all of the guests in our Airbnb; so much so that the next night they all ordered the nachos as well. They all loved these nachos.
