I have been here several times and the pizza is always great. They have a lovely covered porch which was wonderful as we were able to bring our dog. You order inside and they will bring your order out to you. I forget the name of our pizza we had but it had spicy sausage, peppers and cheese. It is wood fired and the crust was delicious. It was delicious and a perfect size for the two of us. Add a couple of house wines and it was a perfect dining experience. We will definitely be returning. Check it out - you will be glad you did. I have written reviews of this restaurant twice (last was 2021) with negative results. Friends wanted to go, and while I should have spoken truth in the face of optimism I did not. I became complicit in the single most negative SSI restaurant experience of 3 different families spanning over a decade of residence. I want to point out that I do not blame the staff. They had one person taking orders, one person making pizza and one person tending bar. Their attitudes were similar to a person who has reached the end of their rope with no support from the people who actually profit from owning the business. They were doomed from the onset. Our Odyssey (nod to Homer - similar length experiences) began at 6pm. There was one other group of 4, otherwise the place was empty. 3 families (9 total adults/kids) ordered a total of 6 pizzas. If you have been to V's before you know that the pizza is 13" and over priced like bottled water at the airport. Come to think of it, eating here was very similar to ordering food at the airport with similar customer service. We received food in such a ramshackle fashion, and behind others who ordered behind us, that I actually considered whether this place utilized a food lottery and just failed to notify the suckers who braved the fiery cauldrons of souls burning in hot pitch. I have said I do not blame the staff. While I do not blame them, I recognize that they did nothing to actually alleviate the situation, such as stop taking pick up orders when 10 tables in the restaurant had been waiting on dine in orders for or 1.5 hours. This might be enough to write about....hold on. The quality of the food....dear sweet lord the quality of the food. Have you had wet pizza? As you read that, do you consider what it means? Imagine a pizza Dominos, Pizza Hut, whatever. It is sitting in a light down pour over the very center of the pizza to where on the outside the cheese is melted and the crust looks right. Then, you pick it up and the center falls away like a piece of Wonder bread dissolved in a glass of water. No. it is not appetizing. The word moist springs to mind and nobody likes that word. On the positive side I appreciated the Stromboli I ordered, I just can't wait to take it home and finish cooking it. 2.5 hours later we wanted to leave. We cancelled the items we had not received yet and left with the realization that although there is no need for a Blockbuster video anymore at that location, it would have been preferable to V's Pizza in 2024. read more

Honestly, I haven't been here in a few months and I've gotta say this place has gone down hill. Pizza remains solid (it's what's keeping the score at 2*). The front of house woman who took our order, ran our food, and was the only one bussing seemed to be the only person making any attempts to keep this place looking good. Place was messy. When we came in only 3 tables were clear and the majority had old food (30+ minutes old it seemed) left out. Would've liked to try the pizza, but the staff were so unwelcoming. I don't think I'll ever be going back. Came in after work with a large group of coworkers on a Sunday afternoon so they weren't that busy (we're service industry workers mind you so we get it) and the bartender said we couldn't just take up the bar and we'd have to get a table. So we got a table and waited for a few minutes till the server arrived. Once she came up she asked if we were going to be drinking or eating and we told her mainly drinks but some food as well. In which she responded by saying we needed to get seats at the bar. At that moment we could hear the bartender say a smart remark so we just got up and left. After we got outside the bartender actually came up and locked the door behind us. Based on the reviews, we didn't expect much but dining options are limited on a Monday afternoon on SSI. Seriously, one of the best pizzas we have ever had, this is the pizza we wished we found during our tour of Italy. Signature wings had a unique, delicious flavor and were perfectly cooked. Ordered pizza and salad for pickup and got a time for pickup in 25 minutes, so I planned for that. Was surprised to get a text 10 minutes later food is ready for pickup. That's ok, who doesn't want to eat earlier. I arrived there and was surprised food wasn't ready and salad still needed to be packed. At the hotel I recognized it's the wrong salad. Called them and was offered the salad I ordered for free. Nice gesture. But needed to drive there once more; just to recognize back at the hotel the dressing is missing in the 2nd salad. I get the point it's a new place. But it's not acceptable such mistakes are happening with a very simple order, especially when the place is totally empty at that time. Really enjoyed the great pizza, very authentic neapolitan taste. But the salad disaster doesn't make me order there once more. Update 7/9: changing to 4 stars as I ordered there once more (another pizza place was closed for the day already) and tried their calzone. Here's a good "four star" pizza place. Not five, but still good. We were pleased to see they have non-GMO crusts and their pizza tasted good. One orders at the counter (no table service.) The beer list is mediocre. They seem to understand the "COVID problem" unlike so many covidiots (maskless folks, anti-vaxxers and deniers) in the area and were quite willing to bring our pies out to our vehicle (before it got warm enough we could eat outside.) The wife absolutely loves Neapolitan Pizza so we wanted to try this new place out! Right next to Harris Teater, this is an ideal location for us, only a 5 minute drive up the street. She got a bolognese and I got the carnivore. You could share a pizza if you wanted but one would not be enough for more than 2. There are some family meal takeout deals, but we haven't had that yet. The pizza turned out great, was cooked well. About 35-40 minute wait for pickup, but we added extra toppings. I'm sure this timeframe will improve once they are settled. Atmosphere felt and looked great. Can't wait to go back and eat in the restaurant. Update 8.9.20: had V for the second time this evening, tonight we added the Hawaiian wings. They were delicious! This is my new favorite pizza spot. And I live in Saint Louis, MO. Their ingredients are such high quality & I love that you can customize anything. Last time we went was during the week before and after the 4th of July so there were a lot more people on the Island, and they were having a trivia night & so service was extremely slow. But the management was very communicative, apologetic and brought our entire table and the ones next to us whatever dessert each diner wanted, on the house, to go. There outdoor seating is lovely. Their trivia host is excellent at what he does, but I wasn't expecting trivia night and the volume of it a bit too much for me, so my only advice would be to check their website for events or give them a call before you go if your looking to have light conversation over the table. read more

If I could rate this place 0 stars, I would. We went out for my mother's birthday. Upon receiving our food, an employee came out to bring us some Parmesan cheese along with salt and pepper. Through the corner of my eye I could see 2 small roaches in the jar where the cheese was being held. We returned the cheese and brushed it off as it was probably an honest mistake. After finishing our food, we went to grab a to go box in which the employee grabbed the box off the ground and handed it to us. After placing our leftovers in the box, our food had been covered with even more roaches. We talked to the employees and nothing had been done about the situation.
