While camping outside St. Augustine we decided to take a drive and ended up on Fleming Island, we have friends in the area whom have always told us about this amazing pizza place. Well it was lunchtime and I happened to see the restaurant as we drove down US-17 so we flipped a u-turn and pulled into the parking lot. This is a very spacious pizza shop with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well as a beautiful bar. We were able to get seated immediately and greeted by our server who welcomed us and went over a few of the specials and menu items before taking our drink orders. We decided on the Buffalo Wings to start which are prepared in their brick ovens and never fried, honestly I was a little skeptical but they were pretty amazing and perfectly cooked, then drizzled with a delicious tangy buffalo sauce and sprinkled with a nice portion of gorgonzola cheese this is something I'd definitely order again. We followed these delicious wings with a pepperoni pizza, sounds simple yes but sooooo good the crust was crispy but remained tender and had the perfect chew, the sauce was really good and the pepperoni and cheese was delicious as well. We arrived about 11:30 AM and the restaurant continued to fill as we enjoyed our lunch - the staff here was very friendly and accommodating and the manger stopped by to thank us for coming in and to ensure everything met our expectations. Whenever I visit Jacksonville, it seems we always end up at a V Pizza location. The pizza is fresh and made to order. There is something for everyone so not matter who's being difficult on a given day, everyone can find something enjoyable to eat. This is my son's favorite restaurant in Jacksonville. He is a pepperoni pizza person and he will eat an entire pizza happily. I personally like the Flyin' Hawaiian, however this last visit, my sister and I decided to share a Carnivore and a Mac N' Cheese Pizza. The Carnivore was fine, but the Mac N' Cheese was my favorite. It had perfectly cooked pasta and it had a lot of flavor. It was very tasty. Service is always very good. We've never had any issues. There is a good amount of parking, so there is no issue there. The visit to this location was a first and the family enjoyed it. We arrived shortly after 5pm before the dinner crowd. The hostess greeted us immediately and gave us our pick of table preference. The booth we sat in could have easily fit a group of 6, but the space in its entirety would easily accommodate larger groups. It's a casual atmosphere with plenty of tvs and straight forward setup. Our order was kept simple with buffalo wings to start and pizza for the entree. The wings are cooked in the brick oven and have a slight char to them, but don't worry, they taste great!! The 8yo who's rarely a fan of chicken, gobbled down 3 wings! Our pizza also came out perfectly cooked with fresh ingredients. I've been to the new location several times now and I can definitely say the experience has improved compared to the last few times. Lets start with the food: We started out with the pictured meatballs, which are arguably one of my favorite things about V. They're incredibly flavorful and the sauce with basil adds a nice touch. From there, we elected to go with the margherita pizza which V seems to have perfected using their imported ovens resulting in a crispy crust and quality toppings. Previously, the center was a little soggy, but the restaurant seems to have fixed that. Service: One of the major changes when V moved was to go from table service to a fast casual order-at-the-counter style of service. After receiving feedback over the past several months, they made the decision to go back to table service! I found this visit to be much better, and our server was incredibly attentive. Ambiance: The place looks amazing with extensive bar that would compare to a dedicated bar. I love the idea of outdoor seating and the open air on nice evenings. On previous visits, however, kids running around in the outdoor section unsupervised caused us to have an unpleasant experience. I'd recommend making it more adult-oriented, have adult only hours, or have more adult games/events. In my opinion, Clay doesn't have much to offer similar to that, and V could fill that niche. I love V Pizza and this location is no exception. I probably go to this location the most as it is closest to my house. The first few times I went, you ordered at the register and took a number to a table like most other V Pizza in town. However, the last time I went, they had changed this and it is now like a normal sit down restaurant where you sit and are served. Either way is fine. I personally liked the old way of doing it but that's just me. I will say though, the last time I went, we had Rose as our server. It was her first day and she was so sweet, adorable, helpful and lovely! She made great conversation with my mom who tends to talk a lot to people who work in the service industry. I feel bad for them but she loves to talk to a captive audience. Rose was great! I would ask of her again and I will continue to go back to this location if I want to be closer to home. If I don't mind a drive, Palm Valley is my favorite because the atmosphere is so awesome and the workers are great. The other day, my neighbor and I were at V Pizza where we had a great time. We started out with buffalo wings for an appetizer. We both ordered a pizza. My neighbor had the pepperoni I had the SALSICCIA pizza. Both the wings and the pizza were delicious and they came out hot and fast. We had beer's and the service was great. We stopped here while in the area this afternoon. The food was that of all the other V pizza- delicious! We got buffalo wings and the buffalo pizza. If you really want to taste the buffalo on the pizza ask for extra buffalo sauce. It will be the perfect amount. Our waiter was very friendly. The only thing about this one is that it is full service unlike most of the others. I prefer it when we could just order at the counter and head to a table. It wasn't busy so we weren't hurried out, but on busy days I can see being hurried out. A lot of the times we like to hang out and have drinks while the kids play after we have finished eating. If it were busy I would feel obligated to get up, so the waiter could make more money than what they would make solely off of us. But even with this, we would still visit again. I really like that beer so I brought a growler for home. Got a lot of bell rings for that. I believe a dollar for each pint goes to helping veterans. I really like that. Had lunch on a Thursday afternoon and walked into an almost empty restaurant at what would normally be peak time. Cordially greeted and seated. I am not a chain restaurant person and especially when it comes to pizza. Restaurant was very well decorated and had a nice vibe that said "Brick Oven" Style food. Server was a very polite young man who did make many visits during the course of our meal. Pizza, Wings & Sandwiches were the plan and the desires of all at the table. Starting with personal pizzas ordered came out with the crust not as firm as I was expecting for brick oven and a lack of toppings for a Carnivore pizza. The Cryin Hawaiian Wings were a bit sweeter than I like but were very flavorful and well prepared. The Italian Roast Beef served looked very hearty and full and did not disappoint those who had them. The down side came from the service. I have never seen food delivered one dish at a time? The place is massive and only 4-5 tables occupied and you can't bring food out together so we don't have sit and what while one of our party finishes his meal? This tells me the kitchen is too busy complaining about lack of staff which could be heard by customers. This review is specific to the Fleming Island Location as since the transition to the new location I have visited several times for poor quality and less than stellar service. The Pizza has always been way over or under cooked. Not sure if they are cutting back on their ingredients but the taste has gone from great to bland. Oregano and Basil would go a long way here. Just now picked up a Stromboli (which used to be the best I have ever had) to just awful. I call to provide feedback to the manager and she offered a gift card. No Thanks I will NEVER be back .... so very disappointed as this used to be a really good place. I tried to be specific to why the meal missed the mark but clearly the manager missed what I was saying. I don't write many reviews but when it is this bad clearly I can not be the only one who has had a negative experience. Ordered two pizzas at 2:30 for 5:30 pickup. Reason being is due to when everyone would be home to eat at 5:45. Well at 5:04 I receive a text stating the pizzas were ready. A full 5 minutes early!!! I got to the Fleming Island store 10 minutes later and when the girl handed the boxes to me you could tell the pizzas were already nearly cold. I mentioned the early pickup time to the girl and absolutely no response other than a shoulder shrug. Very disappointing to pay $40 for two pies that were cold. It is expected to pick up a hot pizza. I came here on a Saturday night in Feb 2024 with my family (party of 8) for dinner. I liked the vibes when we entered (the beer garden, tap room, open atmosphere was awesome) but WOW this place was packed. It was also super confusing what the process was for being seated/whether we could seat ourselves and it wasn't until we went to the counter that the hostess clued us in that it was seat yourself once you ordered. With how crowded it was, it took us a while to find a table to eat and the restaurant felt super understaffed. Once we found a table, it took an extremely long time to ask someone to wipe down and bus our table. It was also really confusing that in spite of it being fast casual, we would order drinks with a waiter at a table rather than just going up to the bar. We also found that our drinks orders were messed up as well but the servers were super helpful and able to fix it immediately. I really liked the choice in beer this place had and my dad and I enjoyed the local beers we tried. The cocktails our table ordered were also delicious. For starters, we got a couple orders of cheesy bread which was pretty good and the pesto Mac and cheese which was SO delicious. We ordered 5 pizzas which was perfect + some leftovers. We had the Margherita Signature, Della Donne, a couple white pizzas, and the Paolo pizza. I liked the flavors and toppings of all of them (the white pizza and Della Donne were probably my favorites) but I found the crust to be a little doughy and some were a little unevenly cooked. Was very excited to try the newly constructed location of Vs pizza in Fleming Island. When you walk into the place it is a big barn like structure built out with a bar and lots of minimal tables that are too small. The tables are too small to hold the large pizza racks that they place the pizza on when it is being delivered. No room for your plate or your drinks and you can't see each each other once the pizza has arrived.. There are a few booths which seem to be decent size. The customer service at the door was lacking. The hostess was not very polite. Would not help to explain the pizzas or the sizes. We ordered vegetarian pizza, which was very marginal with hardly any cheese and veggies just floating on a halfway cooked and wet crust. Barely half of each slice was covered with vegetables mostly just crust. I would say that the redeeming quality about this place is the outdoor area with benches and heaters and a little turfed section where you can sit and relax. Also, they had a very nice bar inside. See pictures. I would not recommend for a family dinner as it's more of a sit down - and eat very rushed and leave. Not comfortable and not inviting. It was fairly cool outside about 55 and it was freezing inside the building. A great place however for your college crew to sit and have some drinks and watch the game.
