The owner got back to me personally, she went over and above to work with me and my super busy schedule. When I arrived, she took her time to discuss the shape I wanted, then took more time just to get the shape right before she started working. Yes, getting something similar to a tattoo on your face takes time to get right; which she did. I was worried about the pain, about the healing, the scary "dark" phase as some call it, but there was no pain whatsoever, following her directions made the healing process a breeze (and she provides the ointment), and the "dark" lightened just like she said it would. I have gone for my first, and touch-up appointments and I could not be happier with the results. My confidence has dramatically improved, yes, just the difference having eyebrows can make. No more 15+ minutes trying to pencil in my this brows, having them wash/wipe off. I seriously couldn't be happier with the results! I had a heavier set woman with dark hair that was dyed blonde in some places, I did not catch her name, however she was horrible. First, she asked me if the water was too hot and I told her it was actually cold. She adjusted it and then it still remained cold. I paid for the Tropical Pedicure which included callus removal, but all that was used was jelly and a pumice stone and all calluses are still present even after I asked her to do whatever she needed to do make sure they are all gone because I wear heels for work and my feet needed the extra mile. For $77 with 20% tip this is just crazy to me. Then, when she was opening the new packet of tools to perform the pedicure she dropped an instrument on the ground (which was dirty as heck) and picked it back up, didn't sanitize it and it had other peoples hair hanging off it, which she used her gloved hand to remove and yet she continued with the dirty tool anyway. During the nail polish process she started out by wearing gloves, and then decided to take the gloves off and use her own finger nails to dig the pooling nail polish from my toenails. I walked out with streaky off-white nails from poor application, and my pinky toe on my right foot has so much polish on that it looks like a huge glob sitting on top of my toenail. For reference: my appointment was at 1:00PM, I paid for the Tropical Pedicure, and gel nail polish in off-white.

I explained I was interested in extensions for my upcoming wedding on April 24th. Because I had previously ordered clip-in extensions from BetterLength Hair with no issues, I specifically asked Kandice to review the company and give me her professional opinion on both the hair quality and which type of extension would be best for my hair type, since I wanted something more permanent this time. Kandice looked over my hair and the BetterLength website, told me the company was fine to order from, and advised that I could do either micro-beads or tape-ins. Based on her professional approval, I proceeded. Unfortunately, the hair from BetterLength was falsely advertised -- it was supposed to be 100% human hair, but it was not -- and micro-beads were not suitable for my hair type. The combination of poor hair quality and the wrong method caused so much damage that I had to cut off my hair following my wedding ceremony, before the reception. When I returned to the salon seeking some kind of resolution, the owner, Teneka, was dismissive, unempathetic, and unprofessional. She told me I should have had my hair done by an "ethnic stylist" (the stylist who worked on me was Caucasian, and I am mixed). At no point was this ever mentioned beforehand, and the comment was both inappropriate and offensive. She also spoke about her own employee, Kandice, in a very unprofessional manner rather than taking responsibility as the owner. She offered no accountability, refused to give me a refund, and when I said I would leave a review, she accused me of "threatening her" and even raised her voice at me. This experience was not only disappointing, it was exhausting and traumatic. I even contacted a lawyer given the severity of what happened, but was unable to receive help. What should have been a joyful preparation for my wedding became a painful and stressful ordeal. The lack of accountability, the refusal to refund, the offensive comment, the unprofessional way she spoke of her own employee, and the hostile response were unacceptable. For these reasons, I cannot recommend Beyond Wax Studio or doing business with Teneka.

He will have the Techs up the price if you do any designs. My tech was awesome but other techs do not speak much to the customers and this can feel awkward. They get short staffed because of multiple spouses working there and taking off at the same time which is what created my issue of having to wait. I found this out after the Tech started working on me. They need more staff to fill in the gaps when multi staff is out and they need to be more friendly with customers and keep them informed of delays. It cost me $135-140 every two weeks for mani-pedi with designs on nails. Pricey! Manager needs to come up with ways to keep the flow going when short staffed such as doing soak offs in between or starting pedicure soak in between customers. Manager is so indifferent about customers waiting and will totally ignore you if he is doing a set of nails and will not look at you again for an update. Owner only said hi to me after entering, never told me my tech was behind in the back after I entered his establishment, then got upset when I asked how long it was going to be for my appointment. They should not make appointments if they are not going to honor them.
