Sleeper hit at BB Tea House. I did not expect to like it this much…read more Ordered a dragon fruit bubble tea and their house banh mi. The drink was refreshing and fruity with a natural tartness from the dragon fruit. Not overly sweet even though I forgot to ask for less sugar. Their 100 percent sugar tastes more like 75 percent, which I actually liked since I usually go for 50. The boba had a nice chew and was not overly sweet either. The banh mi was really solid. Crispy toasted bread on the outside, soft inside, with a good balance of savory meat, pickled veggies, and fresh herbs. Bright, tangy, and satisfying without feeling heavy. Went around 1:30 so technically past lunch, but it was still busy. There was a bit of a line and people kept crowding or cutting, but the staff were working fast and getting orders out efficiently. They also have a small front area with grab and go items like bottled drinks, spring rolls, and other snacks. There is even a heated case with fried items by the register. Did not try those this time but definitely will next visit. Seating is limited, more of a quick stop spot, but perfect for a casual bite. Overall really good. Great flavors, good portions, and faster service than expected for how busy it gets. Definitely coming back.

Other drinks are good too. They have decent banh mi sandwiches and a lot of variety. We love going to see what kind of treats they have available. The Che Troi Nuoc is something I always get there. I totally recommend this place, there is something for everyone if they like Vietnamese treats!

First time visiting Bambu here in Philly! I've been to a few locations in the SF Bay area already,…read moreso I am already well familiar with the franchise generally. Shop is on the smaller side, but definitely clean and appealing. Love having Vietnamese music videos on the screen that are chiller and a nice change of pace from other places that are showing sensory overloading K-Pop or anime. Definitely less distracting when eating in. Our group ordered a ton of different things, but I got the #13 Ube Halo Halo. I've had the real stuff in the Philippines, and this was pretty good! We asked for an extra cup to share too, and were able to get that, along with our desserts within minutes of ordering. Not too busy on a Sunday evening, so this place was also a great place to chat. Only 3-4 tables here, so seating can only accommodate smaller groups, especially if there are other groups already.

It's kind of funny that my first review in my new city is for a spot I already know from back home,…read morebut that familiarity is exactly what made me so happy to find it was in my area. It felt like a reliable, consistent, and delicious reminder of home. I ordered the #4 Chè Sương Sa Hạt Lựu, which comes with red tapioca (my favorite!), mung bean, jello, grass jelly, pandan jelly, and coconut milk. The mix of flavors and textures was spot on with chewy, crunchy, smooth, and refreshing elements all in one cup. At first I thought there was a lot of ice but once everything was stirred in, the balance was just right and it kept the dessert cool without diluting the taste. Service was quick and efficient. My order was ready in no time and the staff handled a steady stream of customers with ease. The space itself is small with a few tables and chairs, and it definitely filled up over the hour I was there on a random Monday afternoon. The atmosphere had a casual vibe that made it easy to relax and enjoy my chè without feeling rushed. Overall this was a wonderful first stop to review in my new home and I am already looking forward to coming back!

Let me preface by saying that when I rate bubble tea places, I usually compare them in relation to…read moreKung Fu Tea because Kung Fu Tea's bubble tea isn't the best but it isn't the worst. It's not my go to spot but it's always a safe option when that boba craving hits. And they have a good variety when it comes to milky and fruitier options. For additional context, I usually prefer fruit teas and adjust the sugar level (typically one level below 100% sweetness). After trying a few of their drinks, I would rank Gong Cha as being around the same level as Kung Fu Tea. I like that this location normally makes their drinks starting at the 70% sugar level, which is a plus in my book. Overall, out of the drinks I've tried, there haven't been any standouts that result in me craving Gong Cha when that bubble tea craving hits. But, the drinks I have liked have been pleasant. Drink Ordered: * worth trying - [Lemon Ai-Yu White Pearl]: I think the lemon tastes too artificial but it's less noticeable at the 70% sugar level. I like the ai-yu jelly and white pearl combination though. - [Lemon Wintermelon Basil Seeds*]: I really liked the lemon and wintermelon combination. - [Grapefruit Yogurt Drink with Aloe Vera*]: I liked that this drink was more grapefruit forward compared to other similar drinks from other bubble tea shops. I've also ordered this drink with the white pearl topping, which is an equally good topping option. - [Wintermelon Milk Tea with Aloe Vera*]: There was a small sign on the counter recommending the aloe vera topping with the Wintermelon Milk Tea but I would not personally recommend that combination. I feel like aloe vera pairs better with non-milky drinks. The wintermelon milk tea drink itself was good though and had a really pleasant, fragrant wintermelon aftertaste. It probably would have tasted better with the pearl topping. - [Thai Mango Smoothie]: This is a seasonal summer drink. The mango flavor was light and tasted artificial and had more of a slushy consistency. It comes with passion fruit jelly as the topping. I thought that the drink was very underwhelming. - [Lychee Oolong with Ai-Yu Jelly]: The drink was too sweet but could taste better if it was less sweet. The drink is more oolong tea forward. Would I go back? : Yes, but only if I'm in the mood for it. Mr. Wish, which is one of my favorite bubble tea shops, is in the same plaza and I will almost always choose Mr. Wish over Gong Cha.

We were the only customers at the time so this was confusing as there was no line of people waiting. When we got our drinks it was all wrong. I think he messed it up on purpose or because he didn't take the time to clearly take our order the whole thing was so incorrect. This was a major disappointment. Very bad experience for my mom. I will not be coming back to this boba place again nor do I recommend it.
