We recently visited Uzbek Corner, the first Uzbek restaurant in the London area, as part of a family outing, and it was an excellent experience. We sampled a variety of dishes from the menu, starting with Mastava and Shurva soups, followed by carrot and garden salads.
For the main course, we tried the Manti, Somsa, and the Kazan Kebab, which comes with fries. The Manti was exceptional, and the Kazan Kebab was a pleasant surprise--usually a fatty dish, but here it was prepared with a perfect balance, maintaining the authentic taste without being overly greasy. It brought back memories of visiting Uzbekistan. Although we didn't try the Plov (Osh), we asked some nearby diners, and they praised it highly, noting it was well-prepared.
Each dish was delicious, and it was clear that the chefs are from the region, staying true to the traditional methods of cooking. The authenticity was evident in every bite. The service was also top-notch, adding to the overall experience.
A small note: the restroom was a bit tricky to find, but that's a minor issue that didn't affect our enjoyment. The restaurant seems to attract a Russian-speaking crowd, which adds to its appeal and authenticity.
Overall, Uzbek Corner is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy delicious, authentic Uzbek cuisine. Highly recommended! read more
