I would not use this company again if it was the last Transport Company in business. I would and should have picked up my classic vehicle in Colorado and driven it to CA. myself. I made a $100 deposit with the booking agent HaulAway, Then when the car hauler UZ Transport got here they had no record of the deposit. My quote from HaulAway was $450.00 less the depost there should have been a balance of $350.00. But, and pay attention here. I received a text from the dealer where I bought the car showing the car running and driving fine just before pickup. Then I get a call from the driver of the hauler saying the car will not run and therefor the price will go up $100.00. This call was made while the driver was going through mountains (as we lost contact and this was his reasoning) so why the call now as he was driving through mountains. I never received a call, text or email indicating that the car had been picked up and when it would be delivered. I had to make several emails and calls to HaulAway speaking to Craig to determine it had been picked up and then he could not give me a day much less a time. His best guess was two days off. "Good thing I was home when the car arrived. So the car gets here and the driver says I owe him $500, or he would not release the car to me. This is $150 more than quoted. After all this the driver can not get the car off the trailer. I had to get my come-along (hoist) to back the car off the trailer. What I notice right away is that the car has road grime all over it, expected since I did not put it in covered (not that it would have mattered except I would have paid an additional $400). The windows were down in the car, so all this grime went inside. The ignition key was left on so the battery was so dead it would not even take a jump. And then one of the ignition keys was twisted to the breaking point (not this way when it left the dealer). I can not say with absolute certainty but is would seem they leave the key on so the battery is dead and they can charge another $100(This is in the contract, I found it on line after being told I would have to come up with more money) To top it off the driver stated he was muslim and gave me a sermon on Islam and how Christians were infidels and how Isreal should not be a country etc. So I say run to any other company and make sure they do not broker to UZ Auto Haul out of Commerce City, CO. as they were the contracted company. I had a terrible experience with this car shipping company. The original quote almost tripled to $1,500, and then they kept changing the price again and again. On top of that, they changed the delivery date multiple times, showing how unorganized they were. When the car finally arrived, they tried to force me to pay even more money before handing over the keys. It was so frustrating and felt like a scam. In fact, it got so bad that I had to call the police to resolve the situation. Only then did the driver accept the agreed-upon amount and release the car. This company constantly broke promises, changed their words, and created unnecessary stress. I booked with Safe Way Auto Transport as a broker (http://safewayautotransport.com/wp/) to get my car from LA to Houston (open shipping) and they did a fantastic job at a very reasonable price. My car was picked up Tuesday morning, I flew to Houston Wednesday, and the car arrived on Thursday. I was warned not to put more than 100 lbs of stuff in my car to ship, but ended up with a lot of things in it since I was moving across the country, so I got a $50 fee which I thought was reasonable given that I was warned. I have used this company twice now in the past cpuple of weeks, and although old cars can be problematic, this company is not. They arrive as soon as they can, are couteous, concerned for your safety, and offer extra help if needed. In my case although I ended up needing to be towed both times, they checked the battery, and filled my tire with more air. I had the best experience with this transport Company after waiting on another transport company who charged me and never provide the service we were so upset.We contacted another service and UZ auto transport took our load and went and got our car in Florida picked up immediately and 27 hours later we had our car great condition no problems. My car had a recurring issue with what I thought could be the alternator. They have harassed my staff for payment multiple times a day. I have been extremely ill and in and out of work. They picked up and delivered my cars late. My Audi had bumper damage that was not there when i purchased it. Now they claim they hired a private investigator to look into my business. Even I was doubtful in the beginning, I did receive very satisfactory service from this auto transport company. The car was picked up on time in Denver and was delivered to Boston within its time range. I understand that transportation is not easy thing to arrange minute to minute, but keeping good communication with the dispatcher was a key.
