I am a member of AAA and get free tows, but was not able to be physically present with the vehicle today (membership follows person, not vehicle due to emergency nature). I was afraid an independent tow would be really expensive, but turned out to be a reasonable price. I call Mike at A Quick Tow and he answers the phone. I had called 2 other places and both went to voicemail, where I did not leave messages. Mike typically works on an "on call" basis, but let me make an appointment for the next morning to give my manager time to get my keys. My manager and landlord were worried there wouldn't be enough space to tow - only about 20 feet of parking lot in front of the garage until a row of cars, so I call Mike before he arrived. He needs 45 feet of space, but immediately asked if the vehicle was running, except for the flat tire. I said yes. He said he could drive it slowly out the garage- just can't drive high speeds on a flat. I didn't see it all happen, being 1,200 miles away, but half an hour later my manager emailed me to say the tow was quick and smooth. Mike dropped the Bronco off at my neighborhood mechanic soon thereafter. This was all in an hour or less.
