I LOVE this gem of a wine shop. I am VERY particular about my wine. Mark and I discussed my wine preferences and he suggested 3 bottles. I bought one and took it on the boat we rented for the night. I LOVED it. Probably one of the best wines I have tasted. We went back when we got back from the boat and bought two more bottles. One of the wine I tried and one of the other 3 he suggested. I can't wait to try it. I saw someone left a 1 star review because Mark was busy with other customers and all I can say is, I am sorry you weren't patient. That is what customer service is... talking to your customer and finding out what they like to steer them in the right direction. If you like exceptional wines then Uva is a must. went in just now, the cashier was talking with 2 other customers at the front desk who i assumed had already been helped considering they were talking about the economy and gas prices. I wait at least 5 minutes while looking at wines, no sure what i wanted, thinking i would get some help deciding. Not once was i asked if i needed help or if he could help me with anything. left after 5 minutes of waiting and he said nothing as i left until i turned around and he said have a good day i proceed to leave saying thanks for the help. Absolutely the best wine bar/store on the island! We had a recommendation from a local to check this place out and we are very glad we did! Not only did we have glorious wines by the glass, but Mark helped us with dinner recommendations/reservations for the rest of our trip! My first experience with UVA was when a very dear client sent me an UVA gift bag for my birthday. Not only was the bad delivered to my office personally by Mark, but it was a really nicely done gift. A bottle of wine, rosemary crackers, a block of fancy cheese, and a too die for jar of spicy, red wine jelly. It was all FANTASTIC! Shortly after this delivery I had to try the place in person, and was not disappointed! Now, I cannot say enough good things about this place. Mark, is a wealth of wine knowledge and provides absolutely impeccable customer service. The wine and the cheese boards are AWESOME! Be sure to try the jellies that come with the cheese boards. You can even buy these to take home!
