We were searching for an unusual look for Halloween and decided to visit Utopia. Now why is this store named Utopia? Well there is a simple answer I guess; Lets imagine a society that possesses highly desirable or nearly perfect qualities for its people. That right that is a perfect fantasy! When I was a teenager, I along with many others dreamed of a place that you can live with absolutely no problems. Well this store is absolutely not Utopia, but does allow some of us to escape into our past or others to find their own identity. This shop offers many diverse items such as smoking supplies, adult toys, eclectic clothing, body jewelry, various hookahs and they also provide body piercings. I was just interested in a vintage shirt from the sixty's for a Halloween event I was attending. And instead, I bought something entirely different which was easy to do in a store that has some incredibly unusual options.

Utopia has been around forever... and I hope it stays around forever! Halloween is coming around which this spot is always good for of course... They do carry lots of year round things!! I like finding a large assortment for my modern day hippie side. Clear the space with sage, candles, different oils and Incense. An assortment of tapestries and clothing. Yeah got those knives, swords and random things. Plus So many costumes! Keep seeing this stuff on cbd - I have no idea about it but I'm curious to hear stories???

I called this shop to inquire about a cow tattoo, a two-by-two size, not too big but not too small…read more On the phone, I met Will, one of the tattoo artists at the shop. I explained what I envisioned, and he said I could come for a consultation the following day. I was told to call before coming so he was prepared to see me. On the day I was ready to come in for the consultation, I called, and due to busyness, I could not come in so instead, he asked me for my number so that I could send the picture of what I hoped to have done. He was quick to reply, which I much appreciated, and I was able to make an appointment. In addition, he answered any concerns or questions. The following day, I received a text to confirm the appointment, which I did, and he asked if I was available earlier, to which I replied with a yes. He said he'd let me know if a spot is available as soon as possible. Ultimately, there was, and I could come in earlier than my original appointment. Amazing! In addition, he sent me a picture of the linework via text, and it looked incredible. It matched the original image, and I was very impressed and excited. I arrived at the shop with my mother, who accompanied me. I instantly felt welcomed, and he quickly assisted me, handing me the paperwork. Afterward, he asked me where and what size I wanted it to be. He then printed the linework multiple times to ensure it was how I wanted. In my case, it was the cow's position, the direction it was facing. I was very grateful he had asked me how to position the cow because I would not have thought about that. Afterward, I was led into a room, where he placed the outline on me. He had done this multiple times to ensure the placement was straight and in the middle; I very much appreciated this, as I did not want a crooked cow. Once the placement was finished, he asked me to check it out to see how it looked in the mirror. He even recommended the mirror I was to look into, so I could have a better view, which was in the hallway. I was amazed when I looked into that mirror; it looked excellent. I then went back into the room, and he positioned the chair and told me how to position myself. I would say the tattoo process was about one hour. Throughout it all, he made sure I was comfortable and okay. He also told me what he would do before he did it. For example, before he sprayed me at the end of the tattoo, he told me the spray was cold, so I was prepared to expect the coldness. When the tattoo was finished, and it was time for me to get up, he ensured I got up slowly because I had been lying down for an extended period. I was then asked to look in the mirror and was blown away. Coming in, I was nervous that the tattoo would not be how I envisioned it, but it was the opposite; instead, it was much more than I envisioned. I was speechless. Back in the room, he took multiple photos of the tattoo. I could tell he took pride in his work. Afterward, he gave me instructions on caring for it and told me to contact him if any concerns or questions arose. Overall, Will was incredible. He was very caring and thoughtful and accommodated my mother and me. I am grateful for his talent and skills, which are portrayed by the work he takes pride in. I couldn't have asked for someone else to design this piece. The cow will remind me of this memorable experience forever.

I kept my appointment but when the technician had finished. the final bill was $75, a good stretch from $25. However I was delighted to be able to wear my collection of pierce earrings again. I gave the studs from Piercing Pagoda to the little girl who, lives next door. Three weeks later I was out of town when my right ear started to bother me at the site where it was pierced. Within three days the site became red , swollen and I was in a good deal of pain. I removed the earring and the pain eased. When I returned home after another three weeks the piercing where the earring had been was completely healed but the hole in the ear for the earring had completely closed. I knew the piercing was guaranteed for a long period of time. so I made another appointment to have the hole in my right ear opened again. When I explained my problem to the salesgirl, she said they would redo the work and to give the earrings I had purchased. I explained that I had given them away because I no longer any any use for them. She then told me that without the earrings I originally purchased I would have to buy another pair of earrings For $45 since they did not have any $25 earrings in stock. I was very upset to hear this and I pointed out that although my receipt covered many possible scenarios, for returning earrings, nowhere did it note that the buyer should hold on to the exact earrings that she purchased in case the site of the piercing became infected . She pointed out would noa few rods on the receipt that she said dic cove that possibility but those words had nothing to do with my situation of a piercing that closed up due to infection. I wish I had never gone to Piecing Pagoda; I should have gone to a tattoo parlor where the young folks go but I thought I should go to a relaible merchant even if it cost a little more. I feel like I was the victim of false advertising and small print used to confuse customers. I purchased the bottle of anti bacterial cleaner and used it faithfully for a month. Why couldn't the sales woman have just told me: Hold on to the earrings in case you have any problems with the piercing .

We met our artist and she not only completely ruined it but gave my fiancee an infection on her arm. The tattoo was wobbly and slanting up her arm, and was quite literally botched. We went back the next day and met with the owner, "Gentle Jay" who made it clear that he stood by his employees work and if we wanted to make an appointment to get it fixed he could try but it would be "months" before he had an availability. The tattoo is quite literally unbelievably bad and was in large black ink on her arm. He laughed at us, cursed a lot, and said he really didn't care how we felt and stood by his artists. Quite honestly, odd guy with weird vibes who basically told us to kick rocks. We ended up going all over the island looking for other artists and every single one told us that this tattoo place is a scam that floats by on the idea of "Gentle Jay", who is a rude, overinflated boss. Every place recommended laser removal. Finally, we found Kings Avenue Tattoo in Massapequa who not only redid the tattoo, but had the tact to stand there while my fiancee cried and were all extremely kind. The tattoo is fixed, completely unnoticeable now thank goodness. I'm sure this place produces good work, but I haven't seen it. More than anything, just know that if you need a decent human who won't botch your skin and then laugh about it, maybe skip this place.

I showed him a pic of what I wanted with a few minor changes and then he got to it. The tattoo took no more than 15 mins tops. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes and given a whole tattoo care instruction sheet, also fantastic. It was basically painless, really not bad for the spot. I was just entirely anxious. I enjoyed my experience and definitely would come back soon for a piercing. The tattoo costed only $60. I've talked to folks with a $100-$150 minimum, so I was very happy with the price as well. Thank you!
