What a gem I found when I discovered Cupid's Boutique in Deer Park! As a woman of, shall we say, a certain age, I was hesitant - embarrassed even - to shop for lingerie in person. But I have just as much right as anyone else to look and feel sexy, age be damned! So I mustered up the courage today and walked on in. Thirty minutes later I walked out with a skip in my step, a glint in my eye, and a bag full of beautiful lingerie. The store itself is large and inviting. It's stocked with all sorts of choices and goodies in a wide range of sizes and styles, and the layout is really well done. Accolades to Nicole for making me feel immediately comfortable, and for understanding exactly what I was looking for. Great (and fun) experience at a great (and fun) shop. I will be back! read more

this place SUCKS. I watched the girl at the front desk, Gina, discriminate against a customer and choose to not provide them service. The customer was shocked and cinfused. I had a good experience the first time I went to the store. This time was no different except that once I got home and realized the product I purchased was not correct, I called and spoke to the owner who would not take the product back, even though it had not been removed from the box. All the packaging was intact and I have the receipt. She didn't seem to care very much when I said I'd have to go shopping somewhere else. So now I'm stuck with a product that I cannot use and have to search for a new shop; i should've purchased online directly from a vendor. read more

I don't usually write reviews but the owners are actually disgusting. If you're black, Hispanic, or curvy don't even bother here. They are blatantly racist and profile you. They don't care about their customers and refuse to help you after you've already paid even if you lost or left an item. Don't bother calling they don't care. The owner swears her shop is top notch when the store is trashy and overpriced products for literal garbage that people always end up returning. The owner thinks she's better than everyone else when she's actually stingy and cheap while overcharging her products and underpaying her employees that are all family. The whole vibe of the place is sinister. Forever lost me as a customer. 0/10 not to add that the owner is very passive aggressive and makes constant backhanded comments that will make you uncomfortable. read more

I walked into this establishment looking to buy something. The lady at the cash register told me to take my hood off. I said okay, no problem. It's what she added at the end. She stated she was fearful of her life. I asked to speak with a manager and she stated she was the owner. I tried to talk to her and say you may not be racist or meant it in a harmful way, it comes off how you say things, she started to yell and carry on. PLEASE READ, BUYER BEWARE! I'm honestly shocked by all of the positive reviews and am sure the owner will recognize me through this post unfortunately. I was made to feel completely uncomfortable and embarrassed during my first shopping experience here. Read the whole thing because there were multiple things that happened and it gets worse as it goes on! The owner was pleasant at first, up until she approached my boyfriend and I several times despite us telling her we were just browsing. Here's what sucks: I was minding my own business, looking through one of the racks, and she said "I know it's hard to tell because of all the layers we wear in winter, but you look curvy, there's nothing wrong with that, that's the curvy section over there" (I had on a sweater, winter coat, and scarf). She was basically saying there were more options in the Plus Sized section for me than there were on the Medium and Large racks I was looking at. When I looked in that section, the options were way above my size. Next, I looked at a rack of corsets. I picked one up that I liked, sized small, and she actually put it back on the rack and picked one up 3x the size and said "this one is nice too". I did not take the unwanted suggestions. Second to last offense, probably the worst one because she made her opinions abundantly clear, is she told us a story about "I felt so bad, the other day a girl came in and I couldn't tell because of her coat but she looked bigger, so I was bringing size XL to her fitting room and she ended up being a medium! I felt so bad, I mean I don't care, I just want everyone to be happy". So if size doesn't matter to you, why did you feel bad for assuming she was a larger size than she was? I suggested to her that she ASK people their size rather than guessing it (I mean how would she feel if people came in guessing her age??) Finally, again, the way this business run is completely unconventional: I tried on a 3 piece set that she had put her own tag on and wrote size L in sharpie. My boobs were spilling out everywhere and the other 2 pieces did not fit comfortably at all. I kept saying to my boyfriend there's no way this is a large. Guess what? i looked on the actual manufacturer's tag, and it was SIZE SMALL! I let her know and she told me "I felt like it looks like more of a large, I know every piece in this store" Well guess what lady, I have double DD breasts and I know what a large should fit like, and my breasts would not be spilling over the top, underneath and sides on an ACTUAL size large. If you're selling clothing, label the sizes properly... not by your own clearly biased judgment! The irony is there is a NY post article about her store in which she quotes "It's a safe haven for any type of person who feels uncomfortable with themselves." Well you know what? i was feeling good about myself until you recommended the plus sized section to me multiple times in front of my boyfriend, completely embarrassing me and making me feel uncomfortable. My boyfriend kept saying how he couldn't believe how rude and unprofessional she was, and mentioned she was pretty combative for somebody who's trying to make a sale (when she got defensive that i disagreed with her that a SMALL isn't actually a LARGE just because she feels like it). I was so upset that we weren't sure if we even wanted to give her our business, but there was one corset and bottoms that I did like, so we decided to just buy those and never ever return. We went to Xpressions in Lindenhurst and had a 1000000x better experience- save yourself the trouble. The people there are chill, ask you if you need help, and when you say you're browsing they say "no problem, if you need me at all I'm right over there!". Please learn how to interact with customers better. You'd assume somebody who owns a shop like this would be kinder toward women. I don't think she even realized she was being rude. Yes, I was that upset to write this long of a review, I cried once we got in the car. There's not much redemption to be had here. read more

If i could leave ZERO STARS i would. Ive been a customer here before and had a ok experience and the store has a ton of products to choose from. BUT, our recent trip did not go as planned. Backtracking to our previous visits to the store, we were browsing and im unsure of the employees name but they were very intrusive and rude while "trying to help" when we told them we were just trying to look for products ourselves. We didnt ask for her help nor did we want her help and she made the experience unpleasant, uncomfortable and was rude to my boyfriend, but we did end up buying things and love them. NOW our recent trip, maybe our third time there, we walk in and said hello, she comes out from the back guns blazing asking for IDs when she used to ask for them at the end while paying. Coming from just going on a hike i didnt have my ID on me and they start yelling at us "NO IDS NO ENTRY" we kind of thought she was kidding so i told her weve been here many times i just dont have it on me. She continues to be rude and we cant tell if they were being serious or not because of how outrageous she was acting and yelling at us to get out, as returning customers... I do understand the need for IDs as you have to be of age but this interaction was completely unnecessary and out of control. My boyfriend and i were in PURE SHOCK and we left, not knowing what to say to each other, and the vibe was completely killed. We will never be coming back and im sure im not the only one who has had an issue with this employee. If they were polite about it, we would not have an issue and would have returned when i had my license on me but NOPE. Never again. Dont need to be treated that way when were about 30 years old and dont even look to be underage. Extremely unfortunate. read more

Had not been to Cupids in quite a while, took a ride down to Deer Park and found it had relocated a few blocks from where I remembered. Beautiful new space with a fantastic selection of lingerie and dancewear. I was concerned that they might not have toys anymore but boy was I wrong, what a great selection of those as well! I saw a few familiar faces manning the place, it was nice to see NICOLE she's always so helpful and such a pleasure. I did not see B the night I was there, But I did see the funny guy whose name I don't remember but he's been there forever and he's always so helpful. PROS: -Available parking: It's a small lot shared with the vape shop next door, but the turnover is pretty quick so I haven't had issues parking on either of my mid-day visits. -Selection: So much stuff in here! The place isn't too large, but it's well laid out. Lingerie section has your typical fare along with some nice corsets and a plus size section. They even have a number of crazy sexy platform shoes! (Saleswoman says if they don't have your size, they're more than willing to order it for you.) There was a lot of male lingerie both packaged and on hangers, which thrilled me because it's something that I adore but usually do not find much of in stores. There's a pretty nice range of vibrators with some interactive samples. (One nearly buzzed my finger to numbness in five seconds. WHOA.) The video section wasn't particularly large, but I wasn't there for any movies so I wasn't paying much attention to it. There's a back room for ~private~ viewing that seemed to get a fair amount of foot traffic. -Clearance section: There are a few baskets near the register that have cheaper stuff in them. There were some random pieces (rainbow cuffs, chocolate goodies, some lubes) and two baskets that probably had about forty pieces of packaged lingerie! Really handy for throwing something random into your sex life. I haven't seen clearance sections in other adult stores. -Service: This is where Cupid's really excelled for me. Both times, I was met by a very outgoing saleswoman named Brianna. She was discreet with the other customers (usually buzzing them into the private area) but spoke with me a lot because I was very receptive to it. I know that not everyone would be comfortable with that kind of attention in a store of this nature, but she offered a lot of help with my questions. She unpackaged a few toys for me to poke while I was weighing my options, which really helped me make my decision. She even took out some tester sticks so I could feel/taste a few different liquid products, even though that wasn't what I was looking for. But one of the liquids REALLY impressed me, so I know what I'm going back for next time. I never would have considered buying it unless I got to try it out like this. It's very useful to be able to test a drop of something before committing to buying a bottle, because you can figure out beforehand if the product actually makes your lips tingle, or if it has an unpleasant aftertaste. 5/5 for service! Music: Silly thing to review about, but it was classic rock. I really liked it. CON: Price: Unfortunately, like pretty much all adult stores, the prices are not stellar. The lingerie in particular seemed to be marked up. This place would be perfect, if not for that. However, I bought the groupon! That definitely made the whole trip extra worth it.
