This is your one-stop alternative-needs shop; with items like "street wear" (no sneakers from what I remember, though plenty of boots of all types), body jewelry, incense/candles, minerals, statues, and swords/knives (of both decorative and functional variety). The store is segregated into two areas (really 3 if you include the piercing station) with the apparel and knickknacks in the front and age-restricted items in the back area. I believe one must be 18+ to shop in the Adult section and 21+ to shop in their vape & glassware area. The glass here is a sight to behold, and really if you're bored someday and love art glass it is worth making a trip just to see their displays. Two HUGE glass displays house their highest-end items (typically running from $250 all the way to $10,000) including a beautiful Hunter S Thompson art piece with multiple arms done in the style of a Hindu god. If you know glass artists, Utopia gets some of the best in the nation (and that means the best in the world currently) to ship their pieces out here. Spend some time ogling the glass and see what the newest trends are in this dynamic field. There are plenty of more affordable options here along the side-walls, and although there is a markup from what you'll find (price-wise) online, I find that being there in person and being able to see the "action" in a particular piece's function makes up for the difference. Service here is of the concierge-variety, since so many shoppers often have tons of questions and need assistance while browsing, so if the staff is busy I find it's much better to let them know I'm looking for help and just mill about until my turn comes. There have been a TON of advances in the field in just the past few years, so if you are looking to pick up an old hobby it would really be in your best interest to have a chat with the salespeople. In my experience, they are often willing to cut a small deal on glassware and accessories if you bundle purchases. The Adult section is a bit further back, and has a huge variety of lubes and oils for all your lubrication needs. No tasting station, so be sure to read your labels carefully! They also stock all sorts of adult favors for bachelorette/bachelor parties and such, as well as *ahem* assistive devices (including some that look like they belong in the Apple Store!) that may pair well with the aforementioned lubricants. Sometimes, I park next door in the CVS because there is a stoplight there but stopped doing it because just being patient also works... Not sure how I feel about this place anymore. Ever since I first started coming here the prices have increased immensely. I'm okay with the fact of the price going up if the products are worth it. I went in on October 24th and asked the lady at the counter multiple questions about the jewelry before I bought it and she told me specifically that the jewelry was surgical steel and would not tarnish. I am sitting here a month later with a tarnished belly button ring and extremely disappointed because I can't even return it now. I am unable to return it because I called and the lady told me they will not take any returns in jewelry like that because it happens over time and is normal.They should notify people everything about the products before selling it to people. read more

I have found heaven and its Utopia in Centereach. My Pax broke after 5 years and I needed a new Pax2 for my medicine, Medical Cannabis. The people couldn't be nicer, great selection and now that legalization is here, this store is on the cutting edge. I've been shopping here since I was a kid and they had their other location. This was the spot for UFOS, unique posters, band tees, and incense. Since then a LOT has changed. (So have I) Now I only really shop in the glass section here, but Utopia, Long Island Glass, and Shakedown are my favorite spots for that. They have a huge selection of glass made right here on Long Island which is a huge selling point because supporting local artists is really important to me. The manager Squire is so helpful and knowledgeable. I always leave smiling !! If you need help, he's the guy to ask. Describe what you're looking for, and he'll have the perfect thing for you. There's a woman who EVERY TIME I come in here she ruins my whole day! She works the register and she is unbelievably RUDE. Went to Utopia in Middle Country Road to purchase an item I was interested on. Squire recommended a particular one and assured me it was one of the best although expensive one. I end up purchasing it but it turned out it was broken within days. It just broke in my hand. I immediately went back to the store hoping it would be repaired or at least exchange, but the response of Chris, "manager" and his partner Squire was totally different from when I made my purchase. their attitude was rude, unprofessional and plain insulting. I have end up with a broken item unable to repair. I know I was ripped off because any respectable business would stand behind their merchandise and work with the customer in an amicable, fair and responsible way. I will not ever purchase Anything from then and NO, I do not recommend this store to anyone unless you want to be ripped off in the most shameful way. Went in for a small 16g hoop nose ring. $25 for this little piece of metal that I cannot even separate to put on. I did not get to hold it or put up to my face to even see if I would like it. I had my too small children with me that I was keeping from getting into anything and did not really pay attention to the price because I was there longer then I wanted to be already. There were also 7.00$ in taxes on $18.41. I definitely got dooped into paying 25$ for a tiny piece of shit that Is not what I wanted. On saturday, My daughter had her industrial bar pierced ,and the young lady who did it was very rude and cold. She didn't smile or greet us politely.l) She had no manners and would constantly say move instead of excuse me. She also refused to let me hold my own daughters hand during the procedure and made me stand outside waiting while my daughter went inside alone. I wanted to leave but my daughter and her friends was so excited so we stayed . She made my daughters experience very uncomfortable and being that I paid $65 I would think there would be better customer service. We were not satisfied . I would not recommend any mothers who want to assist their children who are trying to get a piercing to go here when she's around. I went into store in centereach and the guy told me the colored glass bowl was 30 bucks but when I got home I noticed it had a sticker price of $15. When I called the store I spoke to another guy and he told me the color bowls go for 15 that I got. I then said why did I get charge 30 bucks. He didn't know. So my wife went into store to find out since she was going that way and he said thats the sticker on the bowl was wrong lol. I think he full of bologna. It seems like the guy was making prices up. He also never gave me a receipt and rushed me out. I felt very uncomfortable being pushed out. I was only in there looking at items for barley 2 minutes and place was dead so dont know why I was being pressured to hurry up. It wasn't like they were closing. My friend and I went to Utopia Saturday Sept. 19, 2015. The store it self is really nice, big and the smoke shop area is amazing. Now that's talk about the staff. We were there for 20 minutes waiting for someone to help us. There was a gentleman talking with couple (the entire time) finally a girl came in the back and helped another gentleman who came in just before she came in the back. I walked over to the counter where she was assisting him and waited after she was done with the gentleman (by the way she saw me standing there waiting) she walked around the back of the store and disappeared thru a door (later realize the door lead to the front of the store) a few minutes went by when another girl came thru the door. I asked her if she worked here and she informed me she did and when I asked her to help us was told with and attitude I may add that she didn't work back here. When I asked her to get someone who could help us she was annoyed and went back thru the door. After waiting another 5 minutes we left. As we were leaving the girl behind the front counter (not the ones we had seen earlier) told us to have a nice day. We left and went to East West in Farmingville.
