We came here on a whim for the Indian food on a cold night & it was SO DELICIOUS!!!! I am gluten free and dairy free and the staff made all the accommodations necessary for my meal and went above and beyond! I got the Saag and they made it dairy free and it was so yummy! The samosas were also delicious! It comes with only 3 so if you are sharing keep that In mind. I absolutely loved it here. The staff was so nice too. Utara to-go travels was delicious! Being gluten free, they had many options to modify including these delicious Chickpea Flour crisps instead of naan (my husband ate and loved their garlic naan). Great spot in Sandpoint for some delicious Indian food ( with a American twist.). Cheesy naan is a fabulous snack and the samosas have a great spicy taste. Outside seating is plentiful, though only in an old parking lot and not much atmosphere. Nice umbrellas make for a shady spot to have a beer and snack. The Gose is the best in Sandpoint. A gem in sandpoint! We stumbled across this incredible place after the wait at hydras steakhouse was 1hour and I am so glad we did. While MickDuffs has the finest interior with their new location in the historic Post Office, Utara in my opinion has some of the best beer in the Panhandle (along with Post Falls Brewery). Their Echo Bay Double IPA is fantastic. Atlas will fix you up with whatever preference you have however. We loved Utara so much we stopped there several times during our stay in Sandpoint! Tasted many of their beers and our favorites were the Cannabis Terpene IPA as well as the Maiden Rock IPA. Utara is an awesome place. There beer and food were wonderful. They take concerns about Covid seriously, while others in town haven't. They were happy, knowledgeable, and excited to have us. The facility is clean and modern. They hustled around cleaning bathrooms and wiping stuff down in there masks. Kristin (spelling?) was the best! She listened to what we liked and then surprised us with naan pizzas that got each of us. They were delicious and reasonable priced. The mineral ridge ipa is delicious. My goodness this is such an amazing spot! They have awesome beers - try the mineral point (New England ipa)! We were also lucky enough to try their weekly Monday specials (blood orange czech beer). My hubby and I have been here many times. We love the Indian appetizers. The samosas are quite good and they used to make these amazing French fries but with an Indian touch. I love going there with friends to enjoy the beer samples. I don't even drink beer but it's fun to compare notes. Others rave about the beer quality. What's nice is the bar usually has a couple varieties of wine which is my choice. In the summer out in the parking lot there is a flower truck (separate business) that will make you a custom bouquet of the prettiest fresh flowers in a mason jar. I love Utara Brewing Co. read more

Decent beer, but not a fan of their Indian exclusive menu for bar food. When my wife and I go to town to have a beer and some bar food, we like a variety of bar food, rather than eating the prescribed Indian chow. They, like most bars, must depend on the demographic make up of the venue. I don't dislike curries or Indian food, but I certainly don't expect a business to force the variety of ONE on my beer munchies. Granted, today was our first visit, but by the looks of things, they certainly weren't packed. They should reconsider an "inclusive" bar food menu if they want to thrive. Their Mineral Point might be the best Hazy IPA I have ever had - certainly the best in the PNW. We ordered the Samosas and were VERY impressed! Good Indian is hard to find (IMO) and they nail it!
