If I could throw another star their way, I would. But Yelp limits me to five. There's something magical about sitting by an open window, feeling the gentle breeze. I have not been able to experience that in the past few years, as the windows in my house have been broken and unable to open. So I finally bit the bullet and reached out to HomeStar Windows and Doors to get a bid to replace them. Dave came out to measure and gave me a bid promptly. He did not put on the pressure, but gave me options-"good, better, best" and thoroughly explained the difference. We decided to go through with the replacement and got on the schedule. We also decided to replace the blinds with shutters and asked to coordinate the installation to happen around the same time. Well, the windows were ready to be installed sooner than we anticipated, and Dave offered to cover the cost of having the old blinds taken down and reinstalled so we could go ahead with the window installation before the shutters. It also landed on a day that we would be out of town, so they offered to text me when they arrived and then again when they left for the day. It was nice to get those updates so I was aware of when people would be in my house. When we returned home, the new windows were in and all the old ones were taken away. It made my life easy! All I needed to do was put furniture back that I had moved for them. There were also some holes in walls that I'll need to patch that looked like had been made when the windows were removed. And now, I sit by an open window (that I was able to open with one finger rather than the gargantuan effort it used to take) and enjoy the nice breeze. I shouldn't have waited so long.

One of the windows was special so it took a bit of time, but one of the owners, Thomas, called me on a regular basis and gave me updates. Once the glass was in, the other owner, Matt, and his team came out and worked their magic. They immediately got to work, changed 2 of the windows before I even noticed. The 3rd window had an old aluminum frame which ended up causing some unforeseen issues, but Matt was able to pull some strings and get a vinyl replacement that same day and drop it in. I was shocked he was able to do that and thought for sure I'd have plywood over a window for a week while the replacement was made, but nope, the whole team worked hard and got it done. We just had a Euro shower installed, and it was not installed correctly. They did not waterproof…read moreor apply any silicone. The shower wall moves and bangs into the door, causing us severe anxiety because it will surely break. We called the office, and the guy was sooo rude and just hung up on us. We had another company come and take a look at it and they said it was not done correctly. Our only recourse at this point is to file a lawsuit because they said we are not fixing it. So very disappointing. We will need to pay another company to waterproof and correct their mistakes.
