If I could throw another star their way, I would. But Yelp limits me to five. There's something magical about sitting by an open window, feeling the gentle breeze. I have not been able to experience that in the past few years, as the windows in my house have been broken and unable to open. So I finally bit the bullet and reached out to HomeStar Windows and Doors to get a bid to replace them. Dave came out to measure and gave me a bid promptly. He did not put on the pressure, but gave me options-"good, better, best" and thoroughly explained the difference. We decided to go through with the replacement and got on the schedule. We also decided to replace the blinds with shutters and asked to coordinate the installation to happen around the same time. Well, the windows were ready to be installed sooner than we anticipated, and Dave offered to cover the cost of having the old blinds taken down and reinstalled so we could go ahead with the window installation before the shutters. It also landed on a day that we would be out of town, so they offered to text me when they arrived and then again when they left for the day. It was nice to get those updates so I was aware of when people would be in my house. When we returned home, the new windows were in and all the old ones were taken away. It made my life easy! All I needed to do was put furniture back that I had moved for them. There were also some holes in walls that I'll need to patch that looked like had been made when the windows were removed. And now, I sit by an open window (that I was able to open with one finger rather than the gargantuan effort it used to take) and enjoy the nice breeze. I shouldn't have waited so long.

It took a while for someone to come measure, but when he did, he was polite and efficient. After that, communication was poor--I had to call for updates multiple times, and when I was told I would get a call back, it never happened. My install was scheduled for August 1st. I took time off work and waited during the scheduled window (9:30-10:30), but no one showed up. When I called, I was told the scheduler was out sick and the crew had a flat tire. I'm not sure when or if I would have been notified if I hadn't called. They asked to reschedule for the next morning, but again showed up late, at 10:20, and the crew seemed unfamiliar with my job. Payment was another frustration. They don't encourage card payments (extra fee), so I paid nearly $700 by check. One of the installers folded it up and stuck it in his pocket, which felt very unprofessional. It then took a week for them to cash it. Even after installation, when they called to follow up, they couldn't answer my questions and again didn't return my call as promised. The window itself looks okay, but it didn't really fix the main issue I was hoping to resolve. Overall, the process was stressful, communication was unreliable, and I would not recommend this company. The staff I interacted with were generally polite, but the lack of professionalism and follow-through made this a very poor experience.

He said he didn't have a mask saying, its my body and started walking toward me. He showed up late for the appointment also saying he didn't have my phone number. I gave them my phone number when I made the appointment. I told him to come back when he had a mask. After he left he called me (I thought he was going to apologize) but he told me he would not be coming back out and was very rude again. It turned out the person that came out was one of the owners!!!!!!!!! His costumer relations suck!!!! I am 78 year old and subject to complications for C-19 so why take chances??? The office personnel were very nice and did a good job on their end. I will never use them again. I am updating this review. It turns out the person that came to my house was not the owner as I was told. The owner Kyle called me as soon as he found out this had happen. Kyle offered to replace my glass free to makeup for the anguish I went through dealing with Rxxn. He sent out two other guys to measure the window (wearing Masks). Today they installed the new glass in a very professional manner.(wearing masks) My opinion of Murray Glass has change 180 deg. From the worst to the best. A lot of businesses would not have taken the time to make this right but Kyle did. He is a first class guy and Murray Glass is the best!!!

Rex helped me and found out what I was looking for then matched me to the right windows. I was going to do it myself but after seeing them do the work I was so glad I had them take care of it all.
