Sales Process: we feel like the going through the process of planning our remodel and picking out styles was great. Kim was very patient with our indecisiveness and gave us great suggestions. This helped make something stressful for us easier. Final result: our project is nearly complete and we are very happy with how things look. We, like most people, had the typical remodel hiccups along the way. We were able to iron those problems out in the end. Communication: the only point or dissatisfaction for us was the level of communication, updates, and follow through from Kim. We had to rely on Donnie for that. We appreciate all the work he put in for us to solve crazy problems we had. Update: A couple more concerns came up related to communication. We will say that we are overall very happy with the finished changes on our home, but it is such a nightmare communicating with this company. Here are a few examples: 1) We asked for an update on our loan 2 weeks ago. We haven't heard back until today (the project is now finished) and the loan details do not match what we talked about. 2) We had scheduled to do the final touches on our bathroom 2 days ago. No one showed up. No one called. We had to reach out to reschedule. I wouldn't consider us unreasonable people. We know things happen. All we would want is for someone to call and say, "Hey, we can't make it today. I'm sorry." Closing Update: We did receive a final wrap-up call from Donnie, and he was very pleasant and reasonable to speak to and work with. We feel like they are going to make an honest effort to use the feedback we have given them to improve. Additionally, we spoke to Heather today in their office to work through some finance questions, and she was awesome to work with. We are very very happy with the quality of work that was done and how everything looks. The reason we deducted a star was because of the communication piece. read more

I have used my new shower for 1 year and a half as a single person. The inside glass will not stay on the minimal track. I called to see how much to come fix it and if it is still under warranty. $500 to come out and $375 an hour to repair. I feel after spending $14,000 dollars it should last longer before needing repairs. Very disappointed in poor quality materials and the company not standing behind their workmanship. read more

They were wonderful with my Mom. Froylan took the time to explain everything to her. He asked her how to place the grab bars that would work best for her and how high the bench should be. I would like to preface this review with two things: 1. 5 star offers a discount on their work if you leave a good review, be weary of what you read on here. 2. We have had this company complete both a kitchen and a bath remodel. The issues I will bring up were consistent with both of these jobs. During both of our remodels, the biggest complaints I had were communication and quality. Two big components that a company should really pride themselves on if they cared about their customer base. Communication for our projects failed at almost every step of the way. The conversations had between us and the salesman were great, and then almost every single interaction that was not only had between us and the company but the company within themselves was comically poor. Some examples include: 1. Being told we would have a project manager come to our house prior to the project to check out our attic for structural questions (no one ever came before they started knocking down walls) 2. There were days workers would show up when we didn't know they were coming and not show up on days we were told they were supposed to be there. Not to mention the tile workers who had their truck parked outside our house from 8-5 but stayed in there late and left early to smoke. 3. Several unanswered/not returned calls and texts from the project managers. The only time the office reached out to tell us about something? When the bill was "due" even though our project wasn't complete yet. 4. Our salesman saying a project would take 3 weeks when in reality, it's been 3.5 months and there are still issues. 5. Anytime we asked the current workers what the plan was for the next day or really anything, they NEVER knew. They didn't know who was going to be working, they didn't know when, and they didn't know on what. 6. Several of the workers telling us point blank that their fellow workers screwed up and did things wrong. Good thing we caught it I guess? 7. Tile was about to be installed until I noticed it was not the right time, and the workers had no idea and they didn't know what tile they were actually supposed to put down or in what pattern. Then tile had to be ordered, delaying us even further. 8. The list goes on and on. It's as though no one in the company ever talks to each other, or their customer, and we're left trying to put the pieces together. Secondly, their quality of work is not worth what you pay, not even close. There has not been a single thing that they've done that we haven't had to ask them to fix or redo. This adds time to the project, financial strain on us as customers, and not to mention the stress of constantly acting as a project manager. We have had MAJOR things need to be redone (I'm talking walls needing to be taken apart and rebuilt, cabinet and ceiling painting, relocating outlets, and an ENTIRE SHOWER FLOOR), as well as other things (paint chipped walls, bad putty jobs, grout crumbling, paint splattered inside and outside the house and on and on) and all of it was because no one from their team cares enough to do it right the first time. The pictures I will include show *finished* products that they think are appropriate to leave as a job well done. Not only that, but just this last time when pointing out that the glass they had "special ordered" was actually measured wrong and therefore our shower door is crooked, I was told that my "OCD will just have to live with it." Another amazing job by them. Had my two bathrooms remolded by them in last few years. Main bath done 3-4 years ago after about a year toilet ceased to flush solids. As we have a 112 year old house figured it was old pipes. Recently had new supply lines installed and that company replaced toilet pipes and problems remained meaning toilet itself was defective. We contacted 5 star and even though a few years old they replaced toilet and now we again have a functioning toilet. This is the sign of a good company that takes care of problems after the remodel. There aren't really many (if any) limitations as to space or location when it comes to your remodel. They give ideas, advice, possibilities, etc., but don't seem to push any certain brands. While we went with another contractor for our kitchen remodel (a lower price), 5-Star presented a lot of great possibilities. So for me, though it's 4-Star, which is still makes it awesome. From start to finish a nightmare! We went through hell in beginning just with Mosaic their finance company. Then when finally started our shower project, people sick, car issues, finally all but glass in & set up makeshift rods to shower but I went in after they left & no caulking was done inside at step so could have flooded basement if used & they had to come back twice just to fix caulking. Then took 4-5 weeks to get glass in after daily calls. They avoid you & some do not return calls. Project manager never did final walk through. BUYER BEWARE: A lot of ratings here are from when people get their quote. They can't ask for 5 stars for a discount, it's illegal and can get them flagged by google. So what they do is have the sales people ask for a review then and there and make sure it's a great experience, ours went as far as to say they hope it was a 5 star experience. They will want to see the review (further pressure to give 5 stars). Read the reviews before scrolling TLDR: They took a long time, they had to redo a ton of their work, we went without a tub for over a week straight (well over that over the span of the project), they don't communicate well, need to be baby sat in order to get a good final product (IMO). We got $500 (3.1%) off for the hassle however I saw a review someone got 15% off. I will preface my experience that this is from memory and maybe off a little bit, being this spanned a few months. I have some reference to go off of. What I know for sure are these dates: Work was supposed to start Nov 9 2020 and end Nov 16 2020, and it actually ended Saturday Feb 13th 2021 after several attempted repairs of their own work. I only put drywall pictures, because my wife has the other pictures. It starts out with us meeting Kim. We've had a lot of bad experiences with contractors. We haven't put reviews in with them because it wasn't worth our time. Kim assured us 5 star is different and to look at their reviews. He quoted the work we wanted and we signed up, he gave us a discount for leaving a review based on the visit at that time. I believe it was somewhere in the range of $100 to $500. My wife gave 5 star the work she did on getting a permit through our local city, and passed that work to 5 star. Come day of work they rip out or old tub, plumb in the new fixture hardware. The next day they start work on taking a wall out in our kitchen and other stuff in the bathroom. We were informed on Day 3 of work they haven't gotten a permit yet. come day 4 Thursday, they let us know they talked to someone from the city by happenstance and that we need to fill out some form and have it notarized. As to not hold anything up, my wife and I left work (we were fortunate to have great bosses) to get the form notarized and off to 5 star. Tuesday they send someone out (after not seeing them that friday or monday and call to find out what's going on) They put the tub in, with the shower head, faucet, and spout very off center. We get told that the dat of inspection is going to be the 25th on nov 20th. (spoiler it doesn't happen) They come out to do drywall work to get work done out here but it's done by the guy who does their plumbing and the results are attached below. I took him 3 days to do the work. During that time their project head came out to say they didn't have the permit yet. During that time we showed him the dry wall and he said he'd put his best on fixing it. they ended up taking 4 days to do it properly. We still have marks but we didn't notice until we painted later. Come dec 10 we finally get news the permit is issued. It's within the window the city gave for how long they take once accepted so the blame lies with 5 star for not getting it in a timely manor or for checking in to see if there was anything to be aware of because of covid. This was in november, by this point cities had their processes laid out. on dec 14th they started work on the shower for the second time they also got started on ceiling in our garage to be part of the house a few days later. continued work the following week and finished work on the tub. but forgot the shower bar. we then went 5 days without any work or word on what was going on he then had people come out to do the garage work in january they had to replace a panel in the tub after we pointed out the bad caulking they did. They dinged our new tub so bad they had to hire someone to come fix it. after passing inspection we still had sub par caulking and after pointing it out and the horrible experience they gave us, their answer was to discount $500 from our $14,000 job. read more

5 Star Kitchen & Bath sent their representative David Adamson (per his business card his title is design & sales manager) came to quote my townhouse kitchen renovation was anything but 5 star customer service. I had told David my estimated budget I'd like to stay within and he quoted 2-4x over my maximum budget. David tried to sell me on the fact 5Star build all their cabinets locally, ok that's nice but the most important to me is my budget as I wanted a shaker doors and the maple or pecan wood for the three sides then at that point of our discussion David recommended that I either go to Cabinets to Go or Home Depot to get a lesser quality of cabinets and that I should expect for them to fall off my walls in 5-10years. I cannot believe this company allows this type of of sales behavior and are still in business. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO NOT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME IN CALLING THIS BUSINESS, unless you have a million dollar home value and money is no object. read more

Over sold and under performed. I was sold that they were "Experts" in their field and yet the individuals they sent to remodel my kitchen and bedroom were overwhelmed and not competent at all. The project manager is in name only, not on top of the project at all! When I told him on day two of the project that his people were overwhelmed, he discounted my input. After day five he showed up and said I was right. He also said he would send out additional people to fix the errors and get back in schedule. Needless to say, never happened. At the end of two weeks, I sent the PM a set of pictures and discrimination of each issue, his response, "absolutely embarrassing ". He said he would fix it all. Some things were resolved but several were not. He came to walk the project and I told him I was not happy with the product and he said he would fix it again.....I said nope we are done, don't trust you have the ability or capability as you already failed twice. Kitchen remodel - The design and sales person, Brandon, always seemed to be in a hurry-I financed the backsplash separately and he did most of the process with me, but did not tell me next steps. I had to call the finance company to understand the details. He was knowledgeable of design and materials. As of today they are not quite finished, but the cabinets and backsplash work are wonderful - just as I pictured it. I just wish the project manager had kept in touch with me more. At this point, I expected someone to arrive this morning but they didn't so I had to call their office to find out next steps to completion. That is the project manager's responsibility, not the customer's. Communication doesn't have to happen every day, just when each part of the process is completed. I also agree that they push you to purchase all materials through them. I understand that they do that because they know the quality of materials they are getting, but it would be nice if they had options for the customer to help save on the budget. The overall quality and workmanship was very good. Unfortunately the communication was not as great as expected. We asked for and approved plans for a Euro-style shower with glass like we've seen in many nice hotels. It wasn't until the glass was installed that we discovered there would be a metal bar across the top for support. This was disappointing and not disclosed in our discussions or planning. Also, we were contacted at least 3 or 4 times about setting up 12 month interest free financing even though we told them we intended to pay cash. Just a small annoyance, but another sign that our communication was forgotten/lost. In the end, we feel the quality was good, however there probably would have been changes made, ie the glass brought further up to eliminate the metal hardware at the top of the glass. read more

Please please look into other providers before choosing 5 star Kitchen and Bath! I dont even know where to start with this company and the lack of customer service and respect they have for their customers. They took advantage of my elderly parents and attempted to nickel and dime them, to the point they had my 78 year old mother in tears after arguing with the owner Walter for 2 hours and my 80 near old father enraged after the lack of respect from their project manager Zack. It has been a constant battle for them to make things right for my parents from a " high end" toilet that doesnt flush, to flimsy shower doors, to shelves are not included in a shower enclosure and thats extra??? They finally made things right by allowing us to pick out shower doors and an actual toilet that would flush from Home Depot, they purchased and installed so thank you for making it right. And guess what the items we selected from Home Depot were better then the "high-end" products they provide. Shout out to Ricky for being amazing. Upper management please take note and learn from him on what true customer service is. Its the frontline employees having to deal with the customers and make a good experience while management argues and belittles you. I could go on about the awful experience but please from one consumer to another look elsewhere. If you do choose them make sure everything is included in your contract I mean EVERYTHING.... PS they will have sudden memory loss and forget what they promised you. My parents paid 17,000 for their bathroom remodel and were told they chose low end products from the owner... I decided to go with 5 star kitchen and bath because although pricey I thought I would avoid the headaches of going with a cheaper company.  I was wrong. I was very clear about the date I would be unavailable, the salesman assured me the timeline would be fine. We remodeled 2 bathrooms and our kitchen.  First we were told they would start with the bathrooms and they would take 1-2 days. We waited and waited with no word. After contacting them multiple times they always reassured us saying they would now be sending multiple crews and would meet the timeline.  When they did show up there were only 2 workers. They did not start with the bathrooms as was told to us. We never knew what they would be working on each day or what time they would show up or who would show up. This was difficult seeing how we needed to use the bathrooms each day but needed to make sure everything was cleared in case they started working.   They ended up putting the wrong tile in our master bathroom as well as kitchen.  Walter blamed me for not noticing and then said I needed to have some "change form", although I never changed the tile; that was the reason I went to the tile store.  I had chosen the same tile for all projects to make it easier. Walter then continued to threaten me with taking my account to collections, which I never said I was not going to pay, I said I was upset that the wrong tile was there.  The tile saleswoman never gave me a receipt of any sort, so I assumed they knew what they were doing.   The project manager was very kind and did take ownership for the timeline, and was very apologetic, however, Walter was unsympathetic as well as incriminating and I do not appreciate how he handled the situation from a standoff and aloof point of view.  After speaking with him I felt like he does not care about his customers as long as he gets his money. He offered me a 0.045 discount which is offensive giving all the headaches and the amount of money we put into it yet he continues to blame me and threaten me with collections.  My kids slip constantly on the tile causing multiple injuries. I had clearly stated with the tile agent non glossy in the bathrooms. In summary I should have went with a cheaper company that clearly outlines how much everything costs instead of this company that seems to make up random numbers and has workers that leave cigarettes in your driveway, leave your hose on overnight, do not follow through with promises and an owner that treats their customers with such disrespect and disregard.  I do not post this review for any other agenda rather than to let other customers know my experience with this company. read more

We just had a large 18 year old shower replaced. Because of it's size and the custom work it was quite expensive. But it is absolutely gorgeous!! Zach, Trapper and Ricky replaced the plumbing, shower floor, walls and fixtures. It turned out to be quite a project, even had to use a jackhammer to remove some concrete base. They did all this in just two days and we are so impressed with their work and professionalism. I was also impressed that they didn't mess up my wallpaper which I expected to have to repair. Ashley and Heather in the office were great about keeping us informed on the plans. Froylan came to install the glass sides and door. He also did a beautiful job. He is very talented, conscientious and considerate. He did this big job in just 1/2 day, again we were impressed. They were all awesome about letting us know arrival times and dependable in showing up when they said. I have only one complaint and this is not any of these workers fault. When we ordered the shower we were told it was a two day job, but were not told that after the main shower without glass was installed that we would have to wait 10 days for the glass to be made and installed. We were not happy and very upset about not being able to use the shower for 12 days. We understand now, this was explained that because it was custom work they couldn't order glass until rest of shower was complete to get accurate measurements for the glass. Now that the shower is complete and so beautiful we've gotten over the anger and can't wait to enjoy it. Yes, if we had to do it all over again (though we won't) and knew it would take this long we would do it because it is so beautiful and of such high quality.
