The selection of books here is wonderful! They have a lot to offer and are always updating the collection. Not only do they offer books of all kinds but the Orem library also has lots of extra collections including board games (free to borrow!), video games, movies, and an impressive "makers space" in the basement. We love the community events and children's activities that they offer. This will always be a favorite place of mine!

There's a quiet reverence in this place that makes it perfect for just sitting and reading--or even pretending to read while you enjoy the stillness. They've also got a little used book section where you can buy books for super cheap, which I appreciate since I can't exactly get a library card here. And their digital collection through Libby is part of the Beehive Consortium, which seems to have way more audiobook and eBook options than my own Sacramento County Library back home. Major bonus.

They have a pretty good collection of new movies and If you sign up for emails, they will email you when they have new movies to rent. Every time we come into this little gem, the staff is always so friendly and helpful. They are operating limited hours right now due to COVID19, but they make sure their limited hours are posted on their website's front page. When you do return movies and books, the only way their taking it back is the drop box behind the library. They are not taking any returns inside. In addition, they are not taking any cash for payment for any late fees at this time due to the pandemic. What I also love about this library is sometimes they have donated bread at the entrance, free to anyone who might need it. At this time I don't think anyone is allowed to sit and stay (and play) inside, so they labeled their hours as "Grab & Go" while they are open. I have looked into their digital selection, and it would be nice if they can expand it. I've put in a few requests for movies that they do not have, but have not received any response as to them making any effort of carrying it. Room for growth!

The workers there are the best I've seen in a book store. They are all very knowledgeable about the store, its literature, and history of the items they have in store. The first time I visited I chose a passage from one of their Bibles that you can have framed on the spot; I also met Mr. Moon! I cherish this Bible page, and have it mounted in my office. If you're looking to buy reprints of your favorite books or looking to read something new, they have them available at reasonable prices. If you're looking for something older, maybe even a first edition, they most likely have it too. I couldn't recommend this bookstore more, and I hope to return again in the future!

Don't study on the 2nd floor unless you want everyone to stare when you walk by with your rolly backpack. UVU has terrible parking, a decent library, lots of students, average (and a few above average) professors, weird student events, lame "dances", and extensive resources to help students with any type of problem, academic or personal or professional. Walking across campus, with the mountains towering in the background and the smell of freshly cut grass or melting snow depending on the season, it's like you're in a living postcard. The professors here actually care. You're not just a name on a roster--you're someone they expect great things from. And say what you will about the Honor Code, but there's a kind of clarity and focus that comes from being surrounded by people who are trying to live their values. Also, shout-out to the Harold B. Lee library. That thing is a fortress of productivity. I've never been more academically dialed-in than I was on the 5th floor during finals week with a Cookies N Cream chocolate milk from the Creamery in one hand and a stack of flashcards in the other. And then there's the people. You come for the degree, but stay for the lifelong friends, hallway chats, devotional takeaways, and yes--those divine CougarTails on game day. BYU shaped me. Spiritually, intellectually, even socially. Couldn't recommend it more.
