Absolute show-stopper Utah attraction. It's practically a museum and I fully recommend strolling through here any chance you get

This modest little gallery host some amazingLy talented local artist that are worth your visit. Most of work are really wet well priced and would be easy for anyone to add to their collection.

This is an outstanding business! The workers are very warm and helpful. They make you feel like you are royalty upon arrival. They are patient and work with you as an individual. There are so many neat things to see here. I loved my experience and will definitely be back soon!

I would never expect to find such a cool and historic place in a mall. Tucked away in Provo's The Shops at Riverwoods, you'll find the best rare books store in the state (IMHO). They make it hard to find! You first have to find it among the shops, tucked away past the chain stores and restaurants and then you have to go into another store, the also awesome Heirloom Art & Co., and through to the back. Oh, but it's worth it. You be able to see a first edition of the King James Bible from 1611; a 1776 edition of "Common Sense"; a book from Marie Antoinette's library; a Roman Missal with the papal arms of Pope Pius VII (early 1800s); actual letters from Charles Dickens and one of his chairs(!); a first English edition of Les Miserables (1862); and, for those Mormons out there, a whole bunch of First Edition Books of Mormon and LDS documents. It's all quite a site to see ... I can't believe I'm seeing this in Provo (well, the non-Mormon stuff) They also have a some great antiques and paintings ... it's just amazing. I can't afford anything in the place, but I'm sure coming back again and again to look at all great stuff!

This place is pretty amazing - it's like you're waking into a piece of history. Every nook and corner has something interesting and unique! It's like walking into another world where books and their characters come to life. I feel like we were in a museum in a sense that you don't want to touch anything as a lot of pieces in there were old and full of character and intricate details. The lady who ran the place today was friendly and full of information. Some rooms were roped off so we couldn't actually walk into them - but more of a presentational display of antique first edition books, with themes of different movies or a time era. I love the uniqueness of this place and felt like I needed to pay respect to our history and the books that were carefully preserved and cared for, to tell us of our past. I appreciate rare stores like these, as there's not many left that have "character" on its walls!

Moon's Rare Books is very cool. Tons of old books and artifacts with a lot of history. The staff is super friendly and willing to share stories and give you a tour of the artifacts. I really love history so I really enjoyed our stop in moons books! We got to see some very old bibles and several old book of Mormons. Highly recommend if you've got some time to browse while in the river woods!

Another small bible you need a magnifying glass to read!

What can I say about Mr. Moon and his shop? Wow. The experience I got was life changing. Truly. He happened to be there when my husband and I walked in and upon seeing a very old bible open on a table, I was curious to get closer (with my hands tucked safely behind my back like I was taught as a child). An employee there came to greet us and insisted we touch the bible, feel its pages, smell it, do everything I've been told not to do to very old rare things! It was jarring, but in the best way! Mr. Moon was a creature of magic, truly. Such a sweet, clever, old man. The exact person you would expect to own this place. He was giving a tour of his personal collection he keeps in safes and I was amazed by everything! The one ring from the films Lord of the Rings? He let us hold it! A signed copy of The Hobbit? Haphazardly tossed on the beautiful ornate couch while he searched for other neat trinkets and such to appease the crowd that had grown. He has a signed bible by Joseph Smith, Marie Antoinette's personal pocket bible, King Charles the first's bible, the list goes on. Even Thomas Paine's "Common Sense" pamphlet! He asked me what book I'd like to see and I told him "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Bronte and he pulled out the oldest copy he had and let me flip through it! I was actually crying happy tears just getting to touch it. What I love about Mr. Moon and his shop is that it is definitely a museum of the oldest rarest books, but it doesn't feel like one. He doesn't keep them hidden behind glass untouched for the rest of time. He lets you touch them and enjoy them and be involved with the history (he's basically a walking encyclopedia!). That is what made it a life changing experience. I recommend, if you're going to visit, make sure Mr. Moon is there! He is truly what adds the magical touch to the experience!

Please do not shop at this store…read more I purchased a book online and quickly forgot about it. Weeks later I got an email saying that the address I put in was wrong and they would not be refunding me. I asked what the book was, and it took them eight (angry) emails before they responded. They CRITICIZED the book I purchased twice and INSULTED the authors. I had paid for the book ($10) as well as shipping the first time. The owner was angry with me and said he would only send me the book if I paid for shipping again a second time (which was less than $7). I sent him $20 and my corrected address. He refunded me $10 and sent me an invoice for the shipping of the book to the correct address. When the book finally arrived, he had WRITTEN in the book (a limited copy) and AGAIN criticized the book and the authors. The owner was very UNPROFESSIONAL throughout our entire interaction. Please do yourself a favor and purchase your books somewhere else.

How are y'all sleeping on Eborn books? There are five Eborns, classing up malls and city streets…read moreacross the valley. About a month ago, I sung the praises of Eborn Books' Layton Hills Mall location, and now I'm all the way on the other side of the valley to sing more praises. Eborn has new, used, and even rare, and out-of-print books. They lean a little too heavy on the religious books (especially Mormon/LDS books) for my taste (the back of this store is dedicated to the subject). One thing I notice now is that each store is different, which isn't surprising for an organization involved heavily in used and rare books. The Provo store seems more voluminous in its collection. While Layton seemed have the perfect amount of books for their shelves, the Provo seemed more like an old college lit professor's home, brimming with books in every nook and cranny. This is by no means a criticism ... the more books, the merrier! If you're a fan of James Patterson, Louis L'amour, Idiots/Dummies books, man, this is the right place for you to spend an afternoon. And rare books ... I saw first editions for Victor Hugo, Jack London, Hart Crane, James Fenimore Cooper, and Eugene O'Neill (to name a few). I'm comfortable in concluding that Eborn of Provo has "a lot of almost everything". I'll have to go back for another round soon. Still, this location is EVEN BETTER than Layton--although, not in my opinion, as stacked as the SLC location. Still, amazing.
