This place makes me so happy! Everytime I come to town I make sure to stop in and get a few books. I would look in here for hours. I love the trending table they have up front! Really great prices for even new books. The antique front end is so interesting too, some of the most crazy signed and historical books on Utah there.

If you're looking for a charming new store to get really affordable books of all kinds, THIS IS YOUR PLACE! The beautiful, yet unassuming storefront sits in a great location- on Provo's Center Street. It is down the way from a coffee shop, flower shop, and various other small businesses! COVID precautions such as free hand sanitizer, $1 masks, and a customer count when you walk in make the store feel so safe! We were so impressed by the layout of the store, the variety of books and genres, and the affordability of the books! I would recommend this place to anyone, and plan on becoming a regular customer! Thanks Pioneer Bookstore!

Quarantine Diaries! I have been supporting tons of local restaurants during the past 2 months and here are my reviews! UPDATE: They are slowly opening with the "code yellow" order. Currently allowing browsing but only for 20 customers and browsing should be less than 45 minutes long. They also require face coverings or masks to come in. I love supporting local bookstores (even before the pandemic!) What I love about Pioneer book is how much they have adapted to this crazy time and are making it both FUN and EASY to support them! One of my favorite pickups has been the "Mystery Book Grab Bags"! They have 3 options: Picture book, Popular Fiction, and junior fiction! Honestly, I was a little nervous because I've tried "Date with a book" options before and have not liked the book. BUT WHEN I OPENED MY GRAB BAG, I WAS AMAZED! I got 4 books and they were all really great options- I got a mystery, a romance, a western, and A COMPLETE SHERLOCK HOLMES COMPILATION!

The smell, the atmosphere, the books, the staff: everything about Pioneer Book makes you want to move right in and make it your regular Saturday morning stop. It features comfy armchairs at the end of well-stocked and well-organized aisles for the perfect stop to sample a book and enjoy the ambiance. Everyone who works there is so helpful and kind and provide personal, amicable service. The huge variety of books are in excellent condition and are so inexpensive. This store makes for a fun date or visit with friends, and is the perfect spot to purchase your books in Provo with a hot chocolate in hand.

Just went for the first time and loved my experience in this used book store. Great selection and very well organized. Great staff - very friendly and helpful. They even spotted a coupon in my hand I didn't even know I had! I got a buy one get one free that I didn't even know I was going to get to use (it was on the back of a ballet ticket so that's why I didn't know I had it haha). Anyways, it's a great cozy atmosphere with good books and good people so I give it a thumbs up!!

I love this bookstore! The staff here are always so pleasant and eager to assist. All books are used and in good condition. They have a great selection and nice layout. It's small but they update inventory constantly and the prices are reasonable. Definitely worth a visit, this place will turn you into a bookworm

Professor Richard Cowan reviewed his new history book about Provo's two LDS temples then autographed copies. Great event.

It feels like it's stuck between a book dig and a retail bookstore; Like the owner can't make up his mind.

Please do not shop at this store…read more I purchased a book online and quickly forgot about it. Weeks later I got an email saying that the address I put in was wrong and they would not be refunding me. I asked what the book was, and it took them eight (angry) emails before they responded. They CRITICIZED the book I purchased twice and INSULTED the authors. I had paid for the book ($10) as well as shipping the first time. The owner was angry with me and said he would only send me the book if I paid for shipping again a second time (which was less than $7). I sent him $20 and my corrected address. He refunded me $10 and sent me an invoice for the shipping of the book to the correct address. When the book finally arrived, he had WRITTEN in the book (a limited copy) and AGAIN criticized the book and the authors. The owner was very UNPROFESSIONAL throughout our entire interaction. Please do yourself a favor and purchase your books somewhere else.

How are y'all sleeping on Eborn books? There are five Eborns, classing up malls and city streets…read moreacross the valley. About a month ago, I sung the praises of Eborn Books' Layton Hills Mall location, and now I'm all the way on the other side of the valley to sing more praises. Eborn has new, used, and even rare, and out-of-print books. They lean a little too heavy on the religious books (especially Mormon/LDS books) for my taste (the back of this store is dedicated to the subject). One thing I notice now is that each store is different, which isn't surprising for an organization involved heavily in used and rare books. The Provo store seems more voluminous in its collection. While Layton seemed have the perfect amount of books for their shelves, the Provo seemed more like an old college lit professor's home, brimming with books in every nook and cranny. This is by no means a criticism ... the more books, the merrier! If you're a fan of James Patterson, Louis L'amour, Idiots/Dummies books, man, this is the right place for you to spend an afternoon. And rare books ... I saw first editions for Victor Hugo, Jack London, Hart Crane, James Fenimore Cooper, and Eugene O'Neill (to name a few). I'm comfortable in concluding that Eborn of Provo has "a lot of almost everything". I'll have to go back for another round soon. Still, this location is EVEN BETTER than Layton--although, not in my opinion, as stacked as the SLC location. Still, amazing.
