More complete and bigger than I expected. I thought it was a store mostly dedicated to souvenirs related to the local sports. Once inside, though, you will see it is mostly catering the students in campus, where they can buy books, all kinds of supplies, clothes (Amish looking dresses, nothing very cute for my taste, boring pieces) and all kinds of chocolates and sweets. It is huge. Interesting to see the Lego building exposed too. read more

Absolutely massive book store! has everything you need and more! they have a apple section, student supplies for college section, big clothes section, a deseret book at the bottom floor, so you can get your garments on campus. Lots of happy and helpful employees. Fair prices when it comes to buying from this bookstore. It's very clean and organized. Lots of byu merchandise to pick from. They have a grocery section as well! They have everything a student needs!!!! I will keep coming back! read more

This has evolved over the decades from selling textbooks to including clothes, gifts, candy, electronics and even food. That's probably why they changed their name from BYU bookstore to BYU store. I took my sister's computer to their repair department. Justin and Caleb were awesome employees--very friendly and knowledgeable. My sister talked to another employee Cameron earlier who was helpful. I needed to be escorted by the store manager out the locked doors after hours (barely made it in before they closed because I drove straight from St. George). Parking on campus is much worse every year. Please do something about that!! I had to change directions several times because of construction around campus. It would be nice to have guest or short-time parking available around the store. read more

Avoid the phone queue. I waited for over an hour, and when my time came up, the customer service representative mishandled my call and it went straight to dial tone. I'm trying to cancel a computer order I placed over a month ago, and the store so far has not been able to give me a timeframe when it could arrive. School starts Monday. Instead, I ordered directly from Apple and it will arrive early next week. It is very difficult to get any information. Go in and buy something, fine. Do anything beyond that? Service is generally fast and friendly despite the crowds that sometimes exist, particularly in between classes. The store is clean and generally well organized, though if you're looking for a particular item of clothing among the veritable sea of navy blue, good luck. All campus book stores are expensive. This one at least comes with awesome customer service, a great atmosphere and no Sales Tax. I read another review from someone that complained that Sales Tax had something to do with FAFSA and federal taxes... It's unfortunate that whatever level of education the review has didn't help them understand that Sales Tax is a State/County issue, primarily used for education spending. Why can't we be grateful that people who help support student jobs and paying for parts of their educational experience don't need to pay more taxes? If you can finder cheaper BYU swag online or at Macey's (another great Provo shopping venue:), then go for it! If you want a fun part of the BYU experience, pick up some fudge and enjoy every pricey morsel :) read more

This is now called the BYU store because they have so much more than books like... overly priced chocolates, overly priced baked goods, overly priced posters, overly priced... you get it right? should i continue? no you get it? its overpriced. i think ive made my point. Great customer service because if you get more than 2 complaints your ecclesiastical endorsement is revoked... or so I've been told, just to protect myself from a libel suit. so yeah theyre quite nice. The cool part is you don't have to pay tax if you are a student... which if you get FAFSA is like the biggest F U to all the citizens who do pay their taxes. Listen I know you are funding my education but... I do not want to help out at all. You hate welfare... when you yourself are kind of using it. soooooo shut it. Whoa when did this get so political. Anyway... if you arent a student at BYU why are you here? you shouldnt be... walk away as quickly as possible. Go to a real store... this is simply a little joke. Visit: 03/23/2012 Pros: 1. Fan Gear section of the store is finally in the most prominent part of the store. 2. Fan Gear styles have improved over the past 3 years. 3. The Candy Counter is in the same place it's always been - the center or crossroads of the store. 4. The LDS books section looks a lot better than it did when I was a student, and a lot more organized. Cons: 1. In the LDS books section, I found some ghetto signs made up on regular white printing paper on some of the bookshelves. 2. Fan Gear wasn't separated into Women's and Men's sections. Kind of confusing sometimes. 3. Hats were buried deep in one of the corners of the store. Just hard to find. 4. Some stuff just seemed like clearance type items that should be taken off the floor, and put in a special clearance section of the store. All in all a pleasant experience, made better by a enthusiastic cashier in the Cougar Wear department. read more

For Textbook Sell Back, They only give you back 10% off what your textbook is worth. Just sell it online or to friend. You will be able get so much more for it, but it will take time. read more

They recently completed some renovations and expanded the school apparel section which was much needed and now it's great! You can still get all your favorites- fudge, chocolates and BYU gear, but now there is more room for better merchandise. Their online experience is still lacking a little, but I've always received my items in good condition. Fun to come back here! read more

VERY fun to explore. I haven't been here in depth, but there's something for everyone in the BYU Bookstore. My son loves the little children's area in the basement. They have blank board books and blank story books for you to make your own stories! Awesome. read more

Overall the bookstore was good, however I was trying to get my books and an older gentleman working there named Jacob was SO rude to me. I had just started school looking for books and he would not help me and would talk to me with a sarcastic smile. My mother walked over after a minute of conversation with the man and then BOOM, totally different person. Then once she left he was rude again. The worst customer service you would ever get. I will never spend a dime at the book store. Students are not treated like customers. I am a freshman at BYU and I but a book, when I was buying this book, I asked what the return policy is, and a staff at the checkout of the book store specifically told me 30days,unused or unopened. Today I went to the book store to return it only to be told that they are no longer accepting returns and that they have a deadline for return. The manager was so Rude and Cruel and I tried to explain my situation to him. I was told it's 30days. He implied that I was a liar and that his employees where perfect and would not make a mistake. It is absolutely ridicules , that I cannot return a book that is unused and unopened. I will be buying all my books from amazon. You just lost a customer. Don't use their ecommerce site to order apparel, especially if it will be a gift. The ecommerce staff doesn't know the difference between adult sizes and youth sizes, so there's a good chance you'll end up with items that don't fit. Also, online purchases must be returned within 30 days of the SHIPPING date, which means if you live outside of Utah your return window is much shorter than 30 days. That can be difficult if you buy the item as a gift (like I did) and the recipient can't try it on until they actually receive it. Save yourself some hassle and make your online purchases somewhere else. read more

We love this place. It is not just a place to buy your school books, but to buy some fun gifts that you can't get anywhere else. Great selection of fan gear and a small department for clothes. Fun candy store and great place to get printed photos etc. For a store this size, they have a great variety. I remember how much I loved this place when I was a student. My wife dropped her computer and since we are students here we took it to the computer repair place in the book store. They initially told us they would let us know what was wrong in a few hours, it took them 3 days. The problem ended up being the hard drive and the book store had to order in a new one. They told us it would be a week before they could get it. We called a week later and the person on the phone didn't know if they had gotten it and didn't know how to check. All they had our computer 19 days. When we finally got our computer it refused to turn on so we took it to another computer store that promptly found that the hard drive the BYU bookstore had installed was faulty and didn't work. When we tried to return the hard drive they refused to refund us the money we had spent on the hard drive. Not going here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more
