It takes you through a full size replica rooms of what inside temples are like. The Visitor's Center tells about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints without being preachy. If you are curious about what the inside of a temple looks like, some of the Christ-centered teachings of the church, or the history of the area, this is a good place to go. There is a spectacular replication of The Christus statue in one wing of the visitor center. This is a must see. Park in the underground Conference Center parking then get your parking validated at the visitor's center for free parking. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Decorated for Christmas made the one hour tour even more special. The tour normally includes just the main floor with the parlor, study, dining room, kitchen and pantry. But right now they are also taking guests up the grand staircase to the ballroom. The original art is fabulous. The wood work, plaster work, murals, all gorgeous. The history shared about the Kearns family and past governors was interesting. And the Christmas decorations were the icing in the cake. Take advantage of this free tour which I believe is offered in the summer and part of November and December. Park in the free lot off of H Street and they will let you enter the East gate right on the hour.

You'll immediately notice that it shares the property with a public elementary school. They use the gym during the day, but the weight room and track upstairs is available to the residents all day. Another thing you'll quickly notice is the lack of parking. They recently changed the entry procedures to allow visitors to enter the back door where the parking lot is. You used to have to walk around the building-which was rather painful in the winter since you have to walk through a muddy field. The facilities inside are adequate. You'll find the basic workout machines, weights, treadmills, etc. It can get busy during peak times or seasons, but people are usually pretty friendly and willing to take turns. There are also group fitness classes-they rotate schedules each quarter and offer the first week free so you can try them out. You can buy a pass or do a drop in class occasionally. Childcare is also available for an additional fee. Watch the LiveDaybreak website or social media to see what activities will be held here. While there are many activities throughout the year, only a handful are held at the community center. But when they are, you'll want to plan accordingly as the gym will likely be closed.

The building has cherry blossom tress all around it , so during spring it is a treat for the eyes - that is how our guide explained, but for me, the building on top of a little hill, emerging from the snow looked magical and fairy tale'ish. Being the Capital Building, it has plenty of parking. Vip's and dignitaries have specially reserved areas. Admission is free. This turned out to be especially important with building quite a distance from the city , and being winter, restaurants etc are mostly closed, and the temperatures outside freezing - it was perfect to just stay as long as it was open, enjoying the warm temperatures , admiring the huge buildings, the painted ceilings, innumerable art pieces around, the number of floors, AND a cafeteria! It became a full day picnic .... lol. Mon- Thursday- opens as early as 7 am and closes at 8 pm. The grey building and its sober interiors, with dash of golden , sometimes due to the sculptures and sometimes due to electric lights, makes it interesting for many pictures. Oh! and the stone lions outside are majestic ! The Grand Rotunda dome, the murals and the Gold Room are some of the highlights. Definitely worth a visit.

The name is appropriate because, HOLY COW, it was packed wall to wall with stuff to buy! Each time, there are a variety of crafts, from food to signs to homemade potions and lotions, to get you through the next Holy Cow! Being true to form, we mostly hit up the food vendors and a few of the holiday ones, for our family. It was fun, and, there was more to see, but we're both currently broken, so we'll have to check out the next round, when we won't need crutches or wheelchairs, to get around. Such a great way to meet people and support local businesses. :)

I stopped by to grab a copy of The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks for my book club meeting, and they had two copies available. Also, I had no idea that if you have a library card for American Fork, Pleasant Grove, or Highland, you can use it at any of the three libraries. So that was great to know! I tried using self check out, but since it's been a couple of years since I've used my card physically at the library, it was blocked. I had to head to the counter, and they just needed to confirm my info was still correct. Super simple fix. The employee who helped me was so friendly exactly the kind of person you hope to interact with at a library.
