They have a decent sized kids section. If you follow your google maps GPS to get here just know there is little to no parking along highland. It's better to park in the shopping center parking lot, which is where the library front doors face anyway.

A really wonderful library that is just the cutest most historic library I've seen yet! I wouldn't be surprised if it was the oldest library in Utah.

All of the levels and common areas had an abundance of space and tall ceilings! The stairs and elevators were close together and easy to navigate. The Children's Library on the downstairs level was adorable! It brandished childrens' artwork, play tables and many other fun ideas. We ventured through each level and then made our way to the rooftop which had a lot of seating and spectacular views of downtown SLC and its surroundings. The weather was perfect to stay up there and chat for an hour. We also visited the Library Bees- we didn't expect to find Langstroth hives inside a library. This is the coolest library I've been to in the US. If you love books and libraries this is a can't miss experience.

Every section feels thoughtfully curated into vintage, used, new, special editions. There is truly something for everyone. I instantly fell in love. Library is not as big as the one in downtown, but it has everything I need to get tasks done--printing; computer browsing; meeting rooms; books; magazines; videos; etc. One time my power went out at home and I was having issues w my cell use, so had to stop by this library to check if I'm able to use their phone. The staff was so helpful and friendly; and luckily, I was able to make some important calls using their phone. Place and restroom are clean. There's a coffee shop inside. Plenty of tables and seating area all levels and event outside. So happy it's nearby home :)

It's modern in that clean, beautiful way where you suddenly feel like a better person just by walking inside. I had time before the show started, so I wandered around pretending I had my life together, which honestly was very believable in that lighting. The staff was so sweet and genuinely helpful. Like not just "here's your answer" helpful, but "I love my job and also hope you have a great day" helpful. Rare and deeply appreciated. There are big windows everywhere, comfy seats, little pockets of calm where you can read, think, or journal about how magical the place is. I would come here even without a performance, just to sit and pretend I'm writing my novel or about to run into someone who's about to change my life. Also, yes, there's a rooftop patio, and yes, it's as dreamy as it sounds. If I lived closer, I'd be here all the time, probably with a lavender tea, trying not to romanticize everything but definitely failing.

First of all Starbucks is 3 dollars on average more expensive for a coffee than the marketplace, this is especially important for college kids who are studying all the time and need some caffeine and they don't have time to work all time so they are broke. Not to mention the food is wayyyy cheaper and affordable, especially for a small snack. NO one wants a 10 dollar 1 square inch breakfast sandwhice. bullshit. Second, the marketplace is quick! it took me about 5 min to walk down to the marketplace from anywhere, get what I want, and be drinking my coffee with a snack in my hand heading back to actual important shit. Starbucks has this stupid mobile order, so not only if you walk up and order something that will take 10 min to get on its own, theres 20 fucking people in front of you with orders of their own. I walked up to a nice lady and asked how long she had been waiting and she had said half an hour and still counting and she mobile ordered.might as well just fucking DoorDash a coffee. It kind of had a venerable look when I attended the school more than a half decade ago. It now looks like it has caught up with the times. The interior was modern with a computer lab on the first floor. Spent a lot of time here for projects and homework. Now it seems more cozy and even a better place to study, though that lab is gone I see. Perhaps a change of the times given the laptop/mobile/Internet world we live in. Still the printed word holds academic resonance and Marriott is the place to gather that material.
