She was holding a stack of books with no apparent relationship to each other. I kind of assumed there would be a sort of theme, like Autumn or Halloween. Nope. She proceeded to read "Blueberries for Sal" in the driest, most unenthusiastic voice imaginable. It was like the reading of a eulogy. Seriously. No wonder there were only two other stragglers there besides us. When she was finished she got out a pile of papers for a craft. I have no idea what this was supposed to be (see photo). But I DO know that it has been photocopied 750,000 times since it was first made and it was faint and pixelated like an Atari game. Really, how hard can it be to find a perky, animated, woman to read stories once a week? And throw a little craft in there? If you have any interest in your family history, you should give this a try. Here is how it works: you walk in the front door where you will be greeted. You will be steered toward a computer and introduced to someone who will help you get set up. You will then answer questions which help populate your family tree. That's it. I guess some people are limited to 30 minutes per computer session but our extremely friendly and energetic helpers stayed with us and guided us for nearly an hour. When we had pretty much exhausted our efforts, they printed out a nice color copy of the family trees we had developed and even rolled our printouts into a very sturdy cardboard tube. This was a wonderful and very unique experience. I highly recommend it.
