I've been to this bookstore soooo many times. I went to college at UTA, then grad school, then I worked there, and I still live in Arlington. I like to pop in now and again, y'all know I'm nostalgic. I'm sadly never looking for textbooks (which are all upstairs), but I really do enjoy browsing the gift shop and all the apparel. It's fun to see what trending clothing or gadget they'll slap "UTA" onto next, haha. I like to find gifts for my parents. Just note that everything is pretty costly... I like to find stuff in the sales section! Outside of a lot of clothes, you'll find UTA-branded office supplies, glassware, kitchen tools, tote bags, blankets, stuffed animals and other toys, license plate holders, fridge-magnets, jewelry, golf balls, pennants and posters, and oh so much more. The staff here has always been so kind but limited. There only ever seems to be one employee staffed at a time, unless everyone else is upstairs.. haha. Whatever the case, I've never had to wait long in line or have had an unpleasant experience here -- nothing but good energy and overpriced products. Oooooh don't forget the attached Starbucks.. Had to give a one star to be able to leave a review. You have to call a call center. Repeat yourself multiple times for the information to be correct. Then they may or may not transfer you. Leave multiple messages to receive an email that issue is resolved by the call. Yet no one resolved the issue. Seldom will they transfer to the actual bookstore. Horrible experience. For an incorrect order had to call three times to get a refund for missing apparel. For a late rental twice. Call center is rude as well. The call center is the first contact that does not represent the UTA bookstore well at all. The bookstore staff both times that I was connected directly after being persistent have been friendly and accommodating to resolve the issues. read more

Perhaps it is nostalgia, but the current low-grade rating is quite unfair. What is an official college bookstore, other than to sell expensive licensed merch and to solicit textbooks at a full price? Considered in that way, this store meets the need, and then some. I love the variety of items - best selling books Barnes and Noble style? Got em! Desk accessories? Got it! Alumni stuff? Got it! Shirts, jackets, hoodies, socks, ties and more? Got it! They have an attached Starbucks and sell laptops. Great stuff! I have always found parking ample and staff kind. Worth checking out. All of my friends know I love my alma mater, so perhaps that shades my review, but in all actual functionality, this space meets the need and more, and always makes me smile. read more

Recent alumni here. The bookstore is well decorated, stocked, and includes a coffee shop next to it. That being said, the bookstore is way overpriced, you will be better off skipping for the most part, except for things that are not sold elsewhere. But it can be expected as college bookstores tend to be expensive. The reason my rating is so low is because of the behavior of some of the officials. While some new employees try to help out, there are many who show their true colors if you are to return something. They would accuse you of attempting to be benefitted, needlessly becoming aggressive. I hope they change such senior/junior entitled employees as they are giving the bookstore and UTA as a whole, a bad reputation. read more

Oh, campus bookstores. How you love to rip off incoming college freshmen and the remaining naive sophomore students. Lol. I bought all my textbooks here my freshman year of university. BRAND NEW textbooks. Whatta newb. Don't chu do the same, fellow scholars. Google/Utorrent all the textbooks you need or find good sources that distribute pdf files to their comrades. Then if you absolutely cannot find what you need, see if previous students sell their old books on Facebook pages. There's one called "UTA Buy College Crap." I love that one just for the name alone lol! Or search online for cheaper books. A site I like to use is slugbooks.com for price comparisons and pick the cheapest option. As a last resort, go to UTA Bookstore, but either rent it or get used books. It's all the same thing. Books are books. I only purchase from the bookstore if it is absolutely necessary. For example, my lab notebooks with all the worksheets included inside. Can't get them anywhere else and they're normally around $20-30 so I don't complain too hard about it. Aside from everything being overpriced here because profit, it is a nice looking bookstore. Organized, clean, has just about anything uni kids would ever need. School spirit shirts, notebooks, pens, pencils, food, flash drives, laptops, Elf makeup, scantrons, you name it. And the quality seems to be there. It's just, you can totally get around buying the majority of stuff here. Agendas are cheaper at Walmart, notebooks from Office Depot, free pens if you walk around school at the beginning of the new year, free t-shirts at events, etc. Which is why I don't recommend buying from the bookstore unless there's no option to SWERVEEEEEEE. Not hating on the bookstore though. Just being your typical budget tight college student who loves to save and not recklessly spend extra monies where it's not required. GREAT air conditioning here! If it's summer and you're dying from the heat, pop in here reals quick to rejuvenate yourself. Various goods and the cash registers on the first floor, all the books on shelves and art supplies upstairs. read more

Love coming back to my Alma Mater and checking out what's new. What's new you ask? STARBUCKS! Yep starbucks at the bookstore. Not only can you by a UT-Arlington Flag, not only can you get your mom that bumper sticker that says her money and kids go to UT-Arlington, but you can get a Iced Coffee and buy those things at the same time! The store is layout is very well done. Easy to find everything you need. They have increased the amount of alumni directed items and they now adorn my office and kids. Its always a good time coming back home! read more

Always poorly run with barely any decent food/snack options, having to take sweet time just ordering books for class (even if you have a financial plan set up) and always a different staff there each semester to where it feels like everyone is learning how the system works every other month. No one ever knows what books are required for class even though the professors and various departments have set up a reference guide for both parties. Book sellback is barely worth a mention and rental agreement plans are barely worth bothering with. read more

It is the worst store and worst costumer service I have ever seen. The manger and the lady at the front disk. They even do not have respect to the students. I have a return (I just opened the bag and never touch it , I did not use it due to the postponement of commencement) and you can see the return policy online it says: "Graduation Regalia (cap & gown) must be in new condition and will not be returnable if warn or altered in any way. Product must be unused in order to receive a refund. The last day for a full refund is 30 days after the purchase date on your receipt." After 13 days I was wont to return them. They said we do not return due to Covid-19, but I sow them accept the returned books. When I told them that, then they said we do not return because it is open bag and I got it like that. I show them the website policy. They just try to find any excuse. Finally, they said do not try, and we will not return them in a very rude way. I was speaking with manger of the store after. The lady at the front disk I think in her 50's was very rude too. I feel very bad about this and the way they treat the students, not because they do not return it. I was very polite . read more

It's like any other university campus bookstore...overpriced books and merchandise. I love how it's set up though; it's cool that the actual bookstore is upstairs and the university apparel along with the Apple Store is downstairs. There's also a connecting Starbucks prices are no different than a regular Starbucks. As with any other campus bookstore use your discretion when shopping for books. Make sure to shop around for cheaper prices and don't buy a book unless you just have to or you want to...take advantage of Chegg and other places that rent out textbooks. read more

came here asking for a book for one of my math classes, I got referred to the register where the employee scanned a bar code saying it was a e book rather than the physical workbook I asked for. I tried explaining that I needed the physical work book yet she kept denying there were any even though my classmates all purchased it from the UTA book store. I didn't feel like dealing with it so I left but returned later in the day. I then went to the return desk to return whatever it is I bought (the "e book"). The guy at that desk was very nice, however I explained the situation and handed him the receipt but he didn't know what to do so he called in his manager. I then explained my situation to the manager, he then THREATENED me by saying if I were to return my purchase (which I later found out was the online MyLab access to my math class) he will email my math professor and have me DROPPED from the class. Wtf, who does this man think he is??? he later told the employee to help me find the actual workbook I needed WHICH WAS ALL I WAS ASKING FOR, the employee again was very helpful and handed me the workbook... Rude, just rude. Oh and this bookstore is WAY overpriced but all UTA students already know that lol. read more

Beware of false advertised sales and dishonest pricing! Came here to buy a a UTA shirt after a Dallas Wings game. They had signs placed for different discounts on merchandise. A couple of the signs clearly said 25% discount taken at register. When I went to pay they did not take the additional 25% off and said that the price already reflected the discounted amount. I showed the sales associate the sign, and she agreed the sign said that an additional 25% should be taken off, but then said the price listed on the ticket was the price we had to pay. Asked to speak to the manager. She came out saw where the signs were placed and that it clearly said an additional 25% off. She said that the price was already adjusted and refused to honor the signs. Was rude and did not apologize for the pricing error. Snatched all the signs down and walked away. Your employees error is not my fault. She could have at least acknowledged and honored their mistake. Instead she insisted that I didn't understand the sign, and that the price had already been adjusted. However she clearly knew she was wrong by taking down all the signs. Poor customer service, and unprofessional management! read more

The books here are overpriced. When I went to UTA we advised each other to go to Amazon.com because the books there are way cheaper. The staff here is very rude and unhelpful too. I am a University Alum and had the misfortune of dealing with this store my entire time that I attended the University. Btw, the technology is not truly discounted as much as they let on. read more
