FINALLY! Something in this mall that's actually enjoyable!! This is a classic, oldschool Barnes and Noble. There's a kids' section, a café, chairs and benches for reading, all sorts of books, magazines, decorative bookmarks, and fun seasonal displays with games, interactive toys, etc. Employee at the register was super friendly, even when I was being an indecisive pain in the butt. She helped me enroll in the reward program, which thankfully had none of the red tape or extensive mining of personal info most places try and squeeze out of you. Prices here are straight up average, which is a good thing. You're not getting clearance bin junk, and you're also not getting shrinkflation. The prices for books and magazines are also already attached to the books and magazines themselves, printed on the front or back cover, so you'd be able to tell if they were marking up like so many other places love to do. As depressing as this mall is now, this bookstore and the downstairs arcade are the two stand-out gems. read more

It's just such a great store. Whatever you like, what ever you want to find, I feel like there is something for everyone here. I love walking and browsing the sections that are clearly labeled by genres. The Starbucks is a nice add on. Anything from books (of course!) to journals to games to gifts is here. Really glad it's made it thru the world's transition to electronic because sometimes you just need a good paper book. read more

My family and I visit Barnes & Noble stores across the DFW area but this one is closest to our home so we are here often. I think the selection they have is good. Because it's smaller than some of the surrounding B&N stores, it doesn't have as much. Several times I had to either have something ordered or go to another store because what I was looking for wasn't in stock. The store is pretty tidy for the most part. The restrooms more often than not are dirty. This is usually from people who don't know that paper towels and toilet paper belong in the trash but it would be nice if they could have someone clean it more often. This location get a lot of traffic since it's an entrance to the mall. It also has a Starbucks inside with a large dining area. One of the things I do not like about this location is that they hardly seem to have staff working. You may see someone at the Customer Service desk. I think maybe once I've seen someone at the checkout nearest the mall entrance. No one in the children's section. It just appears to be short handed always. The store is very organized. If you are familiar with the layout, you can usually find what you are searching for easily. If you have the patience to look or wait for a team member, they are helpful and ready to assist. Im at least glad B&N finally got on board by allowing you to buy online and pick up in store. Still, there needs to be adjustments. read more

Walking through the Parks Mall this past Saturday and we notice B & N had a mask optional sign. We instantly go inside and see many happy faced people looking at their selection of books, records, toys and enjoying the coffee bar. This place was hopping and we managed to stay in this store out of all the stores in the Parks Mall, a good hour or so. Employees were even mask optional as it should be and we will be frequenting this location alot more often. The employees were friendly and eager to help and the selection was stocked! Clean restrooms as well! read more

This Barnes & Noble says pretty busy. Other than parking Barnes & Noble is always a great experience. Our last visit was to actually cash in my child's birthday coupon. If your child is signed up for their email program you will receive a coupon for a free rice crispy or baked item from their cafe on their birthday! This is a pretty standard, mall-based Barnes & Noble. The staff are (for the most part) friendly and helpful. The book selection is fair, but the layout could be more helpful to the explorer. I like bookstores, and I like Barnes & Noble. This is a typical one. It is spacious, and a nice selection of books, magazines, journals, and miscellaneous gifts. Unfortunately, as with any large book store, you may find what you're looking for, but when you do, it's worn from use. But, as I said before, that's typical for a B&N. All in all, if you're looking for a bookstore, at this point, you don't have much of a choice, so B&N does the trick. read more

This place is by far the worst customer service ever they will not give you the price that their website offers. They advise you that you must pay for the membership to get the price that is showing online or purchase the product online yet the product does not allow you to buy the item online. They are false advertising on their own site and their site doesnt say you have to be a member to get the price. They charged 75% more than the internet. read more

I shopped at this location today and found several items to purchase but could have done without them. I stood in line quite awhile with just one cashier helping customers. When I was finally checked out, I asked the cashier if there was no one to help her. She took a quick look behind me and said, "Should I call for backup? Nahhh!" I told her, "there are SIX people behind me. To which she replied, "I got this" So I guess it doesn't matter to B&N how long customers have to wait at checkout, so long as the cashier doesn't mind! I called to asked if they had a toy in stock for my baby cousin and was given the worst customer service. The guy who answered the phone kept correcting me and telling me I was saying it wrong. News flash, people have different pronunciations and accents. Besides that, he was in general extremely rude and gave me one word answers the whole time. When I'm done perusing Half Price Book, but still have a hole in my heart to fill- B&N always has my back. I'm that gal that gets stuck in the trap in between the exterior door and inner door where all the bargain books are... Crocheting 101? Yeah.. I need a new hobby, it's only $3.. Ceasar Milan's Basic Guide to Dog Training.. my dog is an asshole, I'll teach him.. and it's only $6.50! I end up spending sixty bucks before getting into the store. The cook book and philosophy section are by far my favorite. This location has a huge selection in each category. Plus there are always some cheap, trashy, love novels on the end caps I can grab for mom. They also have a big toy/collectable area in front of the Starbucks. I can usually find a Funko POP bobble head I can't live without or an epic puzzle for my nephews. I really don't enjoy the starbucks- I don't think they are trained the same way or held to the standard as the regular ones- the few times I broke down and got something it was awful. I love going to this Barnes & Noble. I can spend hours here looking through books and magazines. I always find something interesting to take home and finish and there's always a good sale! You can find PLENTY of comfortable seating and outlets in case you need a quiet place to work on your school/office work. There is a Starbucks and limited selections of cheesecakes from the Cheesecake Factory next door. I usually get a slice of the Red Velvet Cheesecake, but in the fall they have this Pumpkin Cheesecake that is so good! During the winter months you can catch a performance from area school choirs singing Christmas Carols and other tunes. read more

I have a confession: I never go to Barnes & Noble to actually buy books. I go there to read books that I don't actually want to spend money to buy hehe. I think the layout of B&N is a little confusing... But people are always super willing to help! If you actually want to buy books, I would recommend Half Price Books though. read more

I was in the bookstore with my 2 year old to purchase books, the women's restroom area was closed. I had to leave the store and search the mall for another restroom area. I returned to the Barnes & Noble store about 1 1/2 hours later, to purchase the books and once again, the women's restroom is still closed and my toddler needed to use the restroom. Another mom was also attempting to take her daughter. To avoid leaving the store, we had to check to see if the men restroom was clear and I waited outside while my mom and the other mom took the children in to potty. At that time, up walk the assistant manager of 23 years, Chris. I told him what occurred and he began to ridicule me about it and mother shame me as if I would allow my toddler to enter the restroom without supervision. I advised him that the women's restroom had been closed for over 2 hours. Chris continues to be rude and advised me to go find another restroom in the mall. He was advised that it had been done and has he ever attempted to run with a 2 year old searching for a restroom. Chris was so rude, disrespectful, unhelpful and definitely did not seem remorseful that we had returned to purchase and twice his restroom area was closed. I returned to the store on the following Monday to report this to Allen, the store manager, and he stated as well that I should have reported the issue to a manager. Allen did not seem to care about the fact that his staff left the restroom locked for hours, did not check the surveillance to see how his manager spoke to me and did not seem to care about the fact that I felt disrespected as a reoccurring customer. We shop in this store all the time and we come for book readings, however, after this, I will not return. It seems that they do not care about how patrons are treated; kids having a restroom area to use; or taking accountability. read more

We received a book as a gift with no receipt. We wanted to return the book- still brand new and still wrapped in its original wrap. They would not even give us store credit or exchange books. How ridiculous! We didn't want to get stuck with a book we don't need. This is the reason why Barnes and Nobles business is going down and other companies are doing better! read more

I was in here last month and was really interested in what they had done to the place. Are used to Starbucks I wanted around and looked at books and magazines. I couldn't find the magazine I wanted so when I checked out I mentioned it to the person to check out and she said she knew they carried it and so I went and told customer service and they took my name and number and I haven't gotten a call back from them. So based on that experience which was fairly good except for the call back I decided to go in today. I had a coupon but I had forgotten in my car I was going to purchase approximately $40-$50 worth of material and I asked the girl if I should go get my coupon or if they had one there that I could use she was not very friendly and she said I should probably go out to the car. When I came back I had to wait in line again even though I've already begun check out with the other girl I had to wait behind several people again to check out which I did and then they finally got another person to help out and I had to verify everything . I asked her what her the other clerks (kassandra?) name because I didn't feel she was very friendly and she didn't want to give me her name and so I took a picture of her and then she didn't want me to take the picture . it's sad because I'm not sure Barnes & Noble's going to stay open and there are some good people that work there like the last time I was there but if most people are greeted by the two that were there today I would say it's probably a good thing that is closing. It is sad that so many bookstores are closed. Maybe management can handle this. I would start by talking to these people and get that other girl and I didn't get her name the first time I was there but she should be training these other two. read more

The employees at Barnes and noble at the Arlington mall take so much time trying to sell you on some stupid membership that it's not worth waiting in line over. The Starbucks in Barnes and noble refuses to accept money that you have added to your Starbucks app. Was planning on buying a gift card to barn and noble for my friends kid but after this experience at this location I will probably not be going back to this Barnes and noble. read more

I love Barnes and Nobles and this is a great store. The coffee was great at the cafe! The layout of the store is also nice! The only two things I have to complain about are that I wish it had a train set for kids to play with in the children's section. This location is located inside the Parks Mall. This particular location has a large selections of all media and genres. There is also a Starbucks inside. The atmosphere is always great here. B&N is pretty pricey for books though. Not too may great deals for books. read more

This review is based on employees that work here. The store itself is nice of course, but anyway enough of that. The employees and staff were nice enough to mail my girlfriend's check that she dropped at the store while we were browsing. They didn't have to do it, but the fact that they took time out of their busy day to mail it was nice. She is very grateful and so am I. Thank you. read more
