It really depends on who you get when you come in here. I was so happy to see a new face and not the one of that mean ass old lady. Thank GAWD she's retiring this week. This is the most aggravating place in the world. I swear. If you can, please go to another location. It's like every time u come here lol something is wrong. The ONLY GOOD thing about this place is it's 24/7, so if you need to mail something at night, u can use the kiosk and do it. Now honestly I've even used Meijer to do this DREADING this location. Now they do have a new employee Bridgette, she's cool but IF U KNOW U KNOW . Definitely fools the rest of the folks though. The service is always slow, so be prepared for that. The USPS website says this location is open until 7:00PM during the week. I visited them around 6:00PM. The lobby was open and there were employees around, but the counter was closed. When I inquired, they told me that the website has been, "wrong for years" and that they closed at 5:00 or 5:30PM. Is that true or do they just close when they feel like? How can the postal services website not get updated for years? I don't know. I do know the parking lot was full of the dumbfounded customers who also got bamboozled. read more

The building and parking lot may seem dated, but this post office is not too bad. I have been here numerous times and I was happy with the service I received. Yes, there was a line; however, that is something that I leave room to expect when going to the post office. The postal workers at the front desk are helpful and friendly. I have used their local pickup option that they have on the website. For the most part, it works very well. But about 3/10 of the time, the mail carrier does not fulfill the pickup request and it is really annoying when that happens. I would recommend that the management here reiterate to their mail carriers the importance of providing and fulfilling the services that are on their website. read more

We had an appointment for a new passport application at the Downtown Rochester Hills MI post office, which was scheduled for 3:40 p.m. today. We arrived on time, but since there was no designated area for passport processing, we stood in the general line for 10 or so minutes. When we got to the front, we were told to re-do the application in black ink, which we did. When we finished, we approached the postal worker. She told us to get in line again, instead of helping us to complete our passport application. We proceeded to wait in line again. After standing in line for another 15-20 the exact same postal worker called us to her area. At this point, she told us that she really should have instructed us to wait by the door, entitled "Post Master." So, we were instructed to step out of line to stand by this door. Absolutely no one came to help us. We watched as approximately 15 people walked through the line and were helped. Next, a lady walked in. She didn't have a passport appointment, as she explained to us. So, she got in line to talk to a different postal worker. This lady explained that she was just seeking information and that she would let us proceed before her, since 1) we had waiting before her; 2) we had an appointment; and 3) she didn't have an appointment. But, instead, she happily hopped in front of us when the postal worker offered to help her through the door which we were standing in front of. We were then told to get back in line AGAIN, which we did for the 3rd time. When we got to the front of the line, the exact same postal worker (all three times), now decided she will help us. The lady who walked in behind us without an appointment got done before us. We left at 4:40 p.m. This post office has gone so very far down hill and it has demonstrated that its workers are discourteous and disrespectful of people's time. My question is why bother with an appointment, when you can just simply walk right in, in front of those who had an appointment! Shame on the postal worker who didn't feel like doing her job and rather enjoyed purposefully frustrating us. Shame, too, on the woman without an appointment who was so discourteous. read more

1/9/2024. Postal delivery driver today put a small cardboard box she was delivering by the garage door. It is snowey and raining. She was still there so I asked why she would do that. She said she has that option. rather than take a few more steps to the covered front door. FedEx or UPS takes it to the front door. So disappointed in her answer and attitude. will not choose USPS for delivery if given a choice. We live in a Stony Pointe subdivision in Rochester if you want to determine who it was. read more

This is a terrible Post Office. Multiple of the older female clerks have extremely poor customer service and treat people differently depending on whether they like them or not. Avoid the clerk Linda at all costs. She is negative and has literally kept me waiting extra time rather then providing Post Office services. Also, in the last 45 days this post office has not scanned packages for me 3x and they never got scanned in which resulted in me not being able to file a postal claim or get any refund on lost items. My experience at this post office today was horrible. I came in during a quiet time during the day due to a confusing message I received in my tracking notifications for a package. Linda was the one helping me and almost brought me to tears, pretty much berating me. I just moved to Rochester in temporary housing due to a house fire and this was the first mail I've attempted to have delivered. She yelled at me stating that it was my problem that the mailbox was listed as vacant as I hadn't filled out the paperwork yet. I've lived in 4 different places and have never had to fill out such paper work. She mumbled something about trustworthy customers and interrupted me at every chance she could get. She spent a few minutes searching for the missing package, and I thanked her. That being said, I've never experienced someone be so outwardly rude to me for no reason. There is an African American woman here that is SO RUDE and disrespectful it's not even funny. I came here when I was 8MONTH PREGNANT to ship a few things. ONE address was wrong so I needed to re write it which takes two seconds. Instead of starting to get the other orders ready while I re wrote it she made me Get out of line to spend two seconds writing an address and made me get BACK IN LINE behind 15 people and wait ANOTHER 45 minutes. ..... 8 MONTHS PREGNANT. My MOTHER also had an issue with her where she was too lazy and didn't want to fill out the customs forms for a few of our out of country shipments so she kept lying and saying the addresses were wrong. And intentionally writting them In incorrectly. One of the addresses was for Paris 7 rue. The STREET NAME IS RUE. She kept putting in 7 STREET instead of 7 RUE and was like SEEEE IT DOESN'T WORK. My mom said BECAUSE ITS NOT STREET. YOU NEED TO TYPE IN RUE. she refused to write rue because then it would register correct and she'd have to do the form for it along with all the other packages. She sent my mom away. UN BELIEVABLE I don't know who this worthless piece of crap that's RUDE, UNHELPFUL AND DISRESPECTFUL thinks she is treating people like DIRT but she better WATCH HER ATTITUDE. I WILL call headquarters and put in a complaint. There's ALSO many people at my company that have dealt with her before and she was extremely rude to them as well. So it's not just me. read more

I use this post office quite often, shipping various parcels all over the US and the world. The postal clerks have always been courteous and very helpful. Others should understand that you are responsible to correctly address your letters. The clerks are there to assist you and they do a wonderful job. Not all customers have personal skills to deal with people, it goes both ways. These postal workers are dedicated and at times it is very stressful when the office is full and a long line is behind you. Remember you get more with a smile and a thank you than a sad face and chronic complaining. read more

Four windows all open; Mondays are always busy. Postal personal are so helpfull...extra taping for safe shipping, least expensive ways to mail and they always show me the newest stamps....the price went down on stamps a couple weeks ago. Wish I could give zero stars. My 2 day "priority" package that is going roughly 200 miles is in its 4th day and nobody knows where it is. I was told that if the worker doesn't scan it, they can't track it. Whatever happened to " that's your job, what you are supposed to do. No weather issues to blame either. I wish I would have written down the names of the gentlemen that were working- friendly, funny and made me smile. I thought it was great to see such good customer service. I live in LosAngeles, California and although I love where I live it's tough at times because the pace is ridiculously fast. Everyone is in a rush, irritated if they wait more than 30 seconds for anything. Recently while visiting my sister in Rochester Hills I needed to ship 2 large paintings home. Edward at the USPS office was awesome. He directed me to a small store that could help me find an appropriate sized box to ship them in. When I returned to USPS Edward than helped me secure paintings and sealed box with tape. I explained that theft of package deliveries is a problem in LA, Edward said no problem I'll take care of that and wrote a note on box for my local USPS to hold. I glanced around the lobby expecting enraged customers and found not a one. Edward than proceeded to ask about my visit and would I be staying to see the fall colors.....I hope to one day Edward! Thank you Edward, the citizens of Rochester Hills, and Michigan for your calm, patience, and overall pleasant demeanor. It's refreshing and I look forward to visiting again! read more

I had to ship something to my relative out of state and I went to ship it and I fully trusted that the African American lady that I was working with was competent enough to spell the address correctly. I was wrong because the package got shipped back to my house and I went back in and talked to the same lady and asked why it didn't get shipped. She told me the address was wrong. I then showed her the address I gave her and even looked it up online to prove to her it was right. She refused to even look at my phone because she didn't want to be proven wrong. She made me reship the package and pay for it again even though she screwed up the first time and didn't want to own up to her mistake. This person was so rude and disrespectful to me that I was sick to my stomach. I don't know how a company can hire such a rude and incompetent worker in a business that needs employees with good people skills.
