Went in this morning, line was out the door, finally PO opened and the machines didn't work so everyone stood in line or left. I went to the self service machine to mail my package. Other day was in the PO and only 1 person again was working with the line to the door. Your workers are exhausted and most of the time friendly but your working conditions are unimaginable for all the people that really need jobs. Hire more people, have your machines in good working conditions...Isn't that your responsibility as a business or a good business. read more

Lately, I've mailed out over 100 (probably more) priority mail boxes and I've found the staff here to be honest, patient, willing and helpful. Rude, unhelpful service. The woman at the counter (older lady with glasses and sharp accent) pointed out that I was actually in the wrong place, I needed UPS, not USPS, and we laughed about it. While I was there, I noticed the corner of my label was peeling and politely asked for a piece of clear tape. Instead of helping, she gave me regular gift-wrapping tape and slapped it on my package like she was doing me a huge favor. When I asked why she wouldn't use proper packing tape, she told me I could buy some. This isn't the first time I've been greeted like a burden here, the attitude in this post office is consistent, and it's completely unprofessional. read more

I wrote a letter to Pres. Donald Trump at the White House on Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington, DC and needed a stamp. The clerk, Tom, said to me "Are you sure you don't want to send this to one of Trump's golf courses? It will get there faster !" I replied "Not funny." He then proceeded to call me a racist, fascist as well other words I cannot repeat here. He then said "If you don't like it, talk to my supervisor. He is standing next to me." He indeed herd the entire altercation and without any other customers as witnesses, just grinned at me !!! This was the Lead Clerk, Danzell. I got home and made a formal complaint to the USPS Consumer Affairs office and is now under investigation. Without either clerk's knowledge of the contents of the letter to Pres. Trump, I had to endure HATE SPEECH and very loudly as well. I went to my local post office to purchase 2 stamps not have some ignorant political debate with the staff at this location. The facility itself is beautiful, but the staff is rude and incompetent. I ordered a package from Amazon, which was shipped via USPS. I waited at home for it to be delivered and received a notification that it was delivered. No package on my doorstep and no motion on my Ring camera. I was having floors installed into my home and the worker's were outside at the time it stated it was delivered. They did not see anyone drop the package off. I checked all around my house, checked the neighbors' doorsteps... nothing. I drove down to this office to inquire as to where my package was. The person who helped me at the desk seemed very confused and told me, "it says it's been delivered". I insisted that it was not, despite what the system said. He went to the back and brought out a dark-haired man in a plain clothes T-shirt who told me, "I'm fairly certain I dropped off a package off at your doorstep this morning". I repeated that there was no package, nor motion on my ring camera. He offered to drive by my home and make sure it was the right house. I promptly left and returned home, where I waited on my doorstep (in the heat) to make sure he would actually come by. 1 hour later and he did not come by. I then called USPS to file a claim. I explained the entire situation and the person on the phone said it was strange that he had completed his route and was back at the station by the time I went to inquire (I got to the station at around 11:30am). The claim was filed and she said someone would be getting in touch with me. A few hours later I received a call from a very rude woman, who spoke very slowly to me as though I was dumb. She explained that just because I received a notification from Amazon stating it was out for delivery, "That. Doesn't. Mean. It. Was. Delivered." I repeated, once again, that the notification said PACKAGE DELIVERED not OUT FOR DELIVERY, that my package wasn't delivered, and the driver said he would come back to make sure, but he did not. She said she didn't know why I filed a claim since the package was delivered and said, "we're very happy you got your package". I repeated FOR A THIRD TIME DURING THIS CALL that my package wasn't delivered. For some reason, the 3rd time she seemed to understand me. She immediately said, "oh, you mean your package wasn't delivered??". She then changed her tone, back-pedaled her comments and started to say how Amazon dropped off a bunch of pallets and they were short-staffed. I understood this, as I am a Shipping and Logistics manager for a large company. I understand how these things work. She then began to ramble about how it was odd that the driver was in my neighborhood at that time, "unless he was making a special trip" and that she would check GPS information. Then she said that, according to GPS, the package was dropped off "near the mailboxes" in my community "on the North side". I reiterated that my address is on the South side, nowhere near the mailboxes. Clearly, it was left at the wrong house. She then hurriedly said she would call the driver and then call me back. I never received a call back, nor any further information about my claim. At no time did she apologize, nor take accountability not only for the mishap BUT FOR THE DEGRADING WAY SHE CHOSE TO SPEAK TO ME as though I were a child, unable to comprehend the situation. The driver had clearly lied. He left the package at the wrong house and could not admit it, so he chose to be dishonest. The easy thing to do would be to admit wrong so that my claim could be settled. I guess my ultimate point is, if this post office messes up with your delivery, don't expect any sort of resolution. Such a big, shiny new office full of people who don't give a single care about what their job involves. read more

Beautiful location. Clean and spacious on the inside. I was the 8th person In line, there were only two clerks around lunchtime, and I was still out in 16 mins. It was my first time here but I will use this USPS again for sure. read more

Most post offices run pretty smooth and everything seems simple. Unfortunately the Palm Springs post office is just a mess. The staff is rude, they lose everything, they are way understaffed. It's just sad that they can't get their stuff together. read more

I go to this post office station three times a week (mailing packages for work), plus I have my own personal PO Box there. The staff is great, always pleasant to deal with; standing in line I watch them interact with customers all the time and they're always nice to others too. I have also witnessed rude customers who walk up and immediately become confrontational with the employees--get a life, people, you're not that special! read more

We use this post office when we are in town, and it is GREAT. Don't listen to the whiners! This facility serves a wide array of clientele, from the over-privileged to the unsheltered, and EVERYONE receives excellent treatment and consideration. Naturally, they get busy at times, and all USPS facilities are having a challenge attracting and retaining personnel. Further, some times of year (and month and day of the week, etc.) can be busier than others. HOWEVER, we have only had EXCELLENT experiences here, and my hat is off to the window and other staff who work so tirelessly and diligently to serve all of us. My review is identical to Sjay S. Amazon package showed as delivered. It was not. Don't try calling the post office. They do not answer. I went to the main office and once again, was told it had been delivered. I filed a claim and the woman I spoke to told me it was delivered. It just goes on and on. Bottom line, USPS accepts no responsibility. Personally, I would never send a package with USPS. I called Amazon customer service and received a new shipment the following day. read more

Where's the zero? This place, like most postal services, is horrible. I took two boxes in to ship. I needed one strip of tape. One. I had my addresses in hand and wanted to send them priority mail. He asked me to step out of line and buy a roll of tape and write the addresses on the boxes. The thing is, with priority mail. You have to write the address in the computer anyway, so I hadn't bothered to write an address that I knew they would put a label over. However, he was very upset that I hadn't written the address and told me I would have to start over. Which I have. At the UPS store. read more

The postal service is dying not just because they can't compete with their modern competitors and they're engineered to fail by politicians but by their own employees and policies. If you have the misfortune of renting a PO Box and dont have your key you will be passed to different sullen employees that will tell you they "can't hand mail over the counter" I'm guess that was crafted as corporate speak because "Our primary focus is delivering junk mail you dont want" Can you imagine if a regular business tried this? This is the new location for Palm Springs Post Office. The facility is brand new, top notch, plenty of parking and ease of access. Unfortunately, after the move, the lobby hours have been cut and are still varying which leaves me concerned especially since they just raised the prices on said boxes. The previous location included 24 hour lobby access, which is one of the reasons why I chose the Palm Springs office for my P.O. Box. The hours are still more that most, so I will hang in there. That said I am grateful that the USPS still exists as it is essential to our democracy. read more
