The Urbana postman who delivers mail to the work/live units in the Villages of Urbana is truly horrendous. I deeply regret not getting his name. I own the building on Worthington Blvd at 3512. It comes with 3 mailboxes, one for each floor and each tenant. I have owned this building since it was built inn2007. The irresponsible postman, a tall man with curly white hair and glasses, decided on his own to remove my boxes and all evidence of 3512. He did this last year. My tenants complained to me because they had no other way of receiving their mail. In the past 6 months, I have gone 4 times to the Patrick st post office. Promises were made by different people. Finally, last week, I spoke to the clumsy postman's supervisor, Margaret Church. She promised to take care of it and guaranteed my tenants will receive correct labels with new mailboxes. I was happy to pay for new mailboxes and keys. I gave her my old mailbox keys and we agreed to meet today to correct this mistake. After waiting 30 minutes today for Margaret to show up, she came to talk to me. She appeared to be deeply influenced by irresponsible postman. No matter what lies he kept repeating, she accepted. It did not matter how far fetched his lies were. She has no leadership qualities and was swayed by his lies. I was deeply disappointed. It was unbelievable. My next step is to reach out to her bosses. Perhaps someone in this poorly managed post office will have a spine to stand up to bad employees such as this postman. He should have been fired years ago. In the meantime, even though I pay $11,000 in Frederick taxes, my tenants have no access to their mail. I can not for the life of me, leave even a one star rating for Frederick MD. post office if you can call it that. The Post Master General needs to personally visit this post office and drain the swamp. Employees at Frederick MD. post office should be demoted to below minimum wage. Close it or hire people that have actually past the test required to work for the post office. It seems they are hiring only the people that don't care about doing the job correctly. We AMERCA are the ones that make the post office pay roll possible, which in turn makes us the boss. And We AMERICA says that type of attitude with our mail is only worthy of the unemployment line. For a post office they people here are friendly as a federal government worker is likely to be. For we all know that by law they need to be somewhat miserable what with their guaranteed time off and pensions. This review is not about a specific post office branch. I actually love my branch and people there which i usually go to in walkersville. This is about the USPS so called insured packages! Overall it works ok when everything goes normal. but if they damage the package during shipping, they are absolutely a nightmare to deal with to file a claim and get a reimbursement. They say your package is insured. When one of my package was smashed/damaged during shipping they ask for sooooo many information , you feel like pulling your hair out. And on top of that they won't cover the shipping charges. Pictures of damaged package is not enough, they want my customer to go to post office with package to show their local office...I don't want my customer to bother with any of this crap!! they don't want to , and i can't blame them. USPS will treat you like you just made up all these damages that they caused and most of the time I just give up (this happen before too) just to save my sanity and time. I went not too long ago to get my passport, the lady was extremely rude with her tone, facial expressions and overall persona, she had me retake my photo several times because SHE didn't like them, It was unreal. I'd rather drive over an hour to another post office rather than come her ever again, I wish her the best and hope she heals from whatever is making her act in such a way. read more

The clerk at the post office at 201 E. Patrick Street, Peter G., was very respectful, polite and nice. He ASKED ME which stamp I wanted for the letter I was mailing which I sincerely appreciate because it was a with sympathy card for a family member who had just lost his wife. The two styles of stamps that were closest to the register were "Celebration" and "Celebrate" stamps, so had he not asked me and just thrown any old stamp on there that could've looked like a very sarcastic joke and hurt my Uncles feelings as he is now a widow. My mother sent her license plates back to the MVA in Glen Burnie, MD on October 22nd from this post office by certified mail with return receipt. They still haven't been delivered. The tracking doesn't have any update since the 26th when the package was in Linthicum, MD.  I filled out the form on USPS.com to ask what was going on. The response to my inquiry was just canned words about Covid which did not indicate that anyone looked into this case in particular.  My mother tried calling the person listed on the email response (Rebecca David, Supv Customer Service 410-766-8882) and could neither get through nor leave a voicemail, it just rang and rang and then gave a busy signal. My mother is losing money because she cannot legally cancel her insurance until the state receives her plates.  I could not be more unimpressed with USPS. What is the point of paying for tracking if no information is going to be given about what the holdup is? USPS has missed its stated delivery times by a wide margin and there is NO accountability whatsoever. read more

This place is the worst post office I have been to. The person helping me (Older Russian lady with glasses) rolled her eyes at me as soon as I walked up with my package and before I could even say anything she started yelling "I DONT LIKE SURPRISES,We cannot deliver that package it is too big". I was shipping a guitar through Reverb, they allowed me to make a label for the dimensions of the box with no warning or problem (which I have done dozens of times). Then she proceeded to try and make me pay for another label and then started freaking out cause apparently the system wouldn't let her do anything so she tried to refuse the package but I insisted that I have shipped guitars through usps before. She ended up taking the package and quoted "Don't be mad at us if it gets shipped back because it's gonna be your fault". I've never in my life have had to deal with costumer service like that in my life. read more

This has to be the most inefficient post office I have ever dealt with. I signed up for the automated emails that show you what is supposed to be in your box that day. I got an email saying there was a package that had been delivered. Inside my mailbox was the other mail but no package. I had no idea what it was and when I checked the tracking number, all it gave me was it came from another state ( I don't remember where at this point) and showed it was delivered at 1137 that morning. I was home at that time and it was NOT delivered. I called the post office and the man who answered kept telling me it was showing it as delivered but finally said he would talk to the carrier when he got back to the office. After I hung up, my neighbor knocked on my door and brought me the package( which was really a large envelope) which had been put in her box. The package was clearly labeled with my name and address. I called the post office back to tell them they didn't have to talk to the carrier- that I had the package. The woman I talked to was slightly more helpful. She explained the the carriers are supposed to scan the packages at the mailbox so it goes on record when it got there. Obviously, the carrier didn't bother to check the address. She told me this was not the first complaint they received about this carrier and took my name and phone number. Then two days later, the same thing happened! My email said a package was delivered and the tracking number showed it was delivered to the box. This time, it was not delivered to my neighbor and is still MIA. I tried calling the post office several times the next day. It would ring about 20 times and then go to a fast busy signal. I tried four or five times and the same thing happened. I gave up and the next day tried to call again with the same results. Do you mean to tell me if they are busy, they just don't answer the phone? I then decided to handle this in person. I went there and talked to a woman at the counter who could only tell me it was showing it was delivered. She took my name and phone number and said a postal supervisor wold call me. That was two days ago and I have not gotten a call. I have tried calling again today and imagine this, it is going to the fast busy signal again! Oh and the woman at the office told me I should file a claim on line. I tried to explain I didn't know what the package was, who it was from or what the value was. She insisted I still file the claim but when I went on line, it asks for the sender, contents, and value! I'm hoping to go back to the office in the next day or so but I work a midnight shift and can't just go down there. No wonder people say they hate the post office! read more

Finally, a post office that deserves a 5-star review. I never thought I'd live to see it happen. They're open till 6pm during the week and until 2pm on Saturdays. They also allow drop offs for pre-paid packages - some post offices make you wait in line like everyone else, even if you don't need a receipt. This saves a lot of time and it's really appreciated. I am very disappointed in the service I have received. The postal workers whether it be in the warehouse or delivering the mail need to learn to read a little better. I was told this last time my package was delivered and in my mailbox and I was very sad and angry to see it wasn't there. I couldn't imagine actually writing a review for a post office, but I was so blown away by how friendly and helpful the staff was that I had to. I was looking to buy a box to shop a package and one of the employees, Lydia, told me not to bother. She went in the back and found me a box and gave it to me. It was only $3 but it was nice to save it. When I got to the counter it only took a minute to process the postage and pay. The line moved fast and the staff was cognizant if the people waiting. They asked if people were just picking up to come ahead and streamline the wait. I know the post office tends to be the butt of jokes, but I was genuinely pleased with the service today. read more

I have been calling this post office for days starting at 8am sharp until they close. All it does it ring then pre recording comes in says someone will be with you and then goes to busy tone. I am missing my stimulus check that was suppose to be delivered according to informed delivery and a missing package that was placed in the mailbox as well and our mailbox is a locked mailbox. But nobody never picks up the phone. I called the toll free number and they tell me that the mail is scanned before the carriers have time to grab the pieces of mail sometimes but come on it's been 3 days now and nothing. I have been having issues for months now one issue resulted with me paying over 70 for late fees for my emissions test cause I never got the MVA letter in the mail. read more

Absolutely pathetic excuse for customer service. Two day shipping has now taken four days and still NO PACKAGE. Online tracking showed that the Frederick Post Office accepted the delivery at 4:55am. So I called searching for my package. First time I called looking for the package the lady did not want to stay on the line to deal with me and she promptly hung up. The 3 stars are because of my postal carrier, who is one of the hardest workers and nicest individuals I've ever met. I have called in to this post office on several occasions and my call never gets answered. When I call other post offices, the phone is picked up, always. This is one of the best post offices I have ever been to, and I travel all over the country. On a Saturday they had 4 people working the counter which is almost unheard of anywhere else. The line moved quickly, the employees were extremely helpful and kind. And they are insanely fast in getting packages out. This IS the most inefficient post office I have ever dealt with. I live in Frederick Md and placed an order with a company in Frederick Md, I was given a tracking number the day of shipment, the package went from Frederick Md post office to a Baltimore distribution center, a day later it was sent back to the Frederick post office, sat in the Frederick post office for several days, I lodged a complaint and was given a case number and was advised that some one would be contacting me, a day later the package gets shipped back to the Baltimore distribution center and there it sat, after several phone calls and being put on hold several times for over 35 minutes with no one answering and emails to try and stop this madness I finally get a email from customer service advising me that they looked into the issue and found it was just a mistake, they said there was nothing wrong with the label or address, just a mistake. Now you would think they would have pulled the package and sent it directly to my home, but no, it sat in Baltimore for another day and as of right now its on its way to its next destination, Hmm.. I wonder where its going? Alaska? I get another email from customer service apologizing but tells me my package is caught in a loop and I can follow the status on the post office website, Are you kidding? Such and incompetent group of employees, such a useless horrible business, and this is the second time in 2 weeks they have done this to me, I now ask all my vendors from now on to ship via UPS, Fedex, anything but the horrible service provided by the United States Postal Service. I swear this is a rinky dink Mayberry operation that needs to be investigated, they just don't care because they think their s**t doesn't stink and since they are a government agency they can get away with it! read more

I appreciate the workers here. They work hard and are unsung. Things go wrong at any office but these postal workers are very helpful and do their jobs well in the face of public scorn. I'm very disappointed in the Postmaster and our Mail Carrier. It seems like no one cares about their customers at this Post Office. My Mom & I are both disabled and have a very difficult time walking, so getting to the community mailbox is quite problematic. The big problem is that the new community mailbox has a door for packages now. So instead of bringing the packages to your door they put it in the mailbox. Well it is impossible for us to walk and carry boxes from the mailbox. We had asked both the Postmaster and Mail Carrier if he would bring any packages to our doorstep, we even had to write a letter to the mail carrier asking him to. Well we have received 2 packages over the past 7 days and both were put in the mailbox. It saddens me that no one cares about anyone anymore. Sad as this request would take him about 10 seconds every blue moon when we get a package. I guess we will have to pay a little more and make sure packages come UPS or Fedex.
