And all of that's before you even get to the counter. Yes, the line gets long from time to time, but they also keep it moving. The postal clerks are helpful and good at problem-solving/special requests. I don't dread this errand, I enjoy it-and that's saying a lot. If there were a way to give NEGATIVE stars, this place would deserve every one of them. For 11 long years I've watched the Oakfield Drive post office set new records for incompetence, laziness, and flat-out disregard for customers. Management Disaster!! Kim and Arthur wear the title "manager," but don't let that fool you - they're glorified excuse-makers. Instead of asking "How can we fix this?" their default response is "We can't help." Honestly, I wouldn't trust either of them to walk my dog, much less run a federal facility. When leadership is that bad, the rest of the crew follows suit. Bare-minimum effort is the rule: lost packages, mis-scans, and "not our problem" shrugs are standard operating procedure. They'd rather point fingers at each other than lift one to solve an issue. $600 Gone in One Year Alone Package #1: "Temporary" carrier outright stole it ~ poof, vanished. Package #2: A carrier was too lazy to place the box in the parcel locker, so it sat in plain sight and was snatched within hours. Package #3: I explicitly asked to refuse delivery on a late shipment from a scam company located in China. Carrier dropped it anyway, then supposedly returned it. Now the tracking is a black hole and I'm out another $300. Escalation? A Joke. I spoke with "escalation area manager" Amy Alley - just another dead end. All she did was recycle the same useless apologies and pass the blame. This branch operates like a comedy skit - only nobody's laughing, especially not the customers losing time and money. Some of the staff are so unbelievably rude, it makes the experience of going there so hard. They are straight up cruel at times.

Don't expect good service. Rude. Both the guy and the woman. I guess if you're a long time customer you might develop something resembling adequate customer service, but if you're a once in a while customer... go somewhere else, and let this place die off. read more

Door left open and unlocked. 5:01 - Went in to ask for some additional tape to do my own packaging and drop with QR code and self service. Got the eye roll. Only positive for 2nd star is I did self service and didn't have too much interaction and it was an easy, smooth drop process. Rude employee of the year ....I was at the post office yesterday on Oakfield drive in Brandon, Florida . There was a disagreement between myself and the Lady working behind the counter simply because I asked her about getting a Florida ID at the post office. She told me you can only get one at the DMV. I explained to her that I was online and it said you can get a Florida ID at the post office such as a passport. She treated me very badly and made me feel like a fool for asking a simple question. She brought attention to me in the whole post office and loudly called me trash in front of many other customers that were there waiting in line. I did nothing to deserve this. This is unacceptable behavior from an employee. I was humiliated and embarrassed . I don't think I've ever been treated this badly in a public establishment. read more

HORRIBLE!!! Business mail had not been delivered for four (4), yes 4 weeks! We are a real estate office that DEPENDS on our mail carrier for closings check and certified mail from our tenants. "Nora" our "temporary" mail carriers is not only lazy, but completely incompetent. It's a shame, we taxpayers, have to pay the salaries of rude, lying and lazy people. Lesli claims she came out to the business and "correctly delivered the mail" (we are in an executive park with multiple boxes) and THAT DAY our mail was STILL in the wrong mailbox. So you are either just as dumb as the Nora, or you're a liar and never showed her how to do her job. "Arthur" knew of this situation when I came to the PO a second time and hadn't even bothered to lift a finger to call me (left my name, # and a business card!) to only inform me, "I will have a talk with Nora". I'm sure that'll solve it all! Oh, and NORA decides she is not delivering our mail because it was "raining". Honey, we live in FL., we have 7 months of hurricane season! Buy a raincoat! And to the gentleman that was running around complaining about someone being "racist" because he wasn't being served "exponentially" (Kim uses big words!), about 7 people heard you. I wanted to mail something out prior leaving town and this was my closest USPS. The GPS made it so I completely missed it. Also, it doesn't help that this location just kind of blends in. The entire area is kind of homey and full of bricks if that makes any sense. At least I realized where this was and managed to go in. There were two employees working and I happened to arrive just before the rush. Got a few weird looks for what I was mailing (as it was a gag gift) but otherwise it went well. This Post Office is THE WORST. The mailmen delivering mail pick and choose what mail/packages to deliver just because they feel like it. No real reason to not deliver it they CHOOSE not to. And when i spoke to him he was questioning how long I have lived at my residence which is asinine. This office is hit or miss in the customer service department but I would say they are quick at moving the line. Maybe that's why it's hit or miss. What I mean is that they're not overly friendly and keep conversations short and to the point of why you came. They do have self service centers in the lobby for use when the actually post office is closed. That makes things easy when you come after work and the office is closed. What is unfortunate about the situation though is that they have all the post packaging locked behind the metal separation wall if you come when the office is closed, so if you didn't come with your item already packaged then you're out of luck. Sometimes you can find a few stray USPS priority or express boxes laying around the lobby that other people have left but don't get your hopes up. I like to use the USPS priority boxes or bag mailers. The ones that you can fill up and they're always the same price. I usually pickup packaging at the Valrico office so I can use it when mailing packages at the Brandon office. Slightly inconvenient. I do like the self-checkouts though due to being able to use them at all hours of the day except when they're down for maintenance or the drop box is full. I have also had to pick up packages here and usually end up arguing with the staff about whether or not the package is there and whether or not I paid to have my item held at a different location. Why would I pay to hold my item at an office further away if this is the closest office to my house? Why wouldn't the postal delivery worker just leave the item in the locked package boxes next to my apartment's postal boxes when the item(s) don't require a signature? If the postal delivery worker didn't leave an orange delivery card, why can't you just look at the confirmation email and text on my phone that there was an attempted delivery? Why do you spout off postal worker jargon when explaining shipping options when I don't work for the post office? These are all great questions, but alas I just stand in line like everyone else and wait for my turn to argue...kind of like the Dept of Motor Vehicles. Also, why is the parking lot sooooo dark at night? There is one working light and you can't see the entrance or exit to the parking lot. Super dark. Don't think there's much point in rating a USPS, but it's all I can do tbh. They've lost 3 very expensive packages of mine in the last 3 months. From seperate senders. Cost me tons of money. It's gotten so bad, I've escalated the problem to the district manager, who told me "your package is lost. Notning we can do." I have to insure every single piece of mail I send now because so far I have a 40% chance of my mail just going missing and I have to spend hours on the phone to be told "oopsie" Worst mail district I've ever lived in. Always a time when I have to get my mail here. The employees always seem to have an issue with helping people. I've placed my mail on hold 2x already and they never hold my mail they just "send it back". This was the hardest post office to find. I'm new to the area, so I had to rely 100% on GPS to find it. The GPS took me to a parking lot and then o realized there wasn't anything there. I switched to another GPS app, and it lead me to another kind of parking lot with a dead end. When I turned to the left I finally saw it. The sign was like a regular business, and not like what I'm used to seeing for a post office sign. Once I found it, I went in and it was very small. It's a quiet post office with one attendant. I would give negative to zero stars if I could. The absolute laziest delivery carriers. They cannot even the smallest effort. If you are not standing at the mailbox when they get there, which by the way is erratic and not a regular schedule, they simply drive by and make zero delivery effort. Everyone is at home as evident by vehicles. No attempt to approach the house + No signature required and they can't leave the package? Even FEDEX will at least just leave the package. This is a REGULAR issue. Beware of ANY on-line orders that indicate USPS delivery method. You can easily add 3-5 days to your estimated delivery date if you use USPS. It's worth the little additional shipping cost to avoid USPS. read more

They're closed on the weekends! No bueno for us busy people in such a busy area. I was able to use the self-serve kiosk but my only option was to use priority mail or buy stamps. The staff here are pretty helpful and friendly. I was juggling greeting cards, gift cards, Priority Mail boxes and labels at the Oakfield Post Office. I went to buy the insurance and pay for gift cards and greeting cards. When the Postal Service Clerk heard me say the insurance was to cover the gift cards, he smiled and said very succinctly, the Post Office does not insure money. He told me what would be covered and paying for monetary losses incurred in delivery was not one of them. He impressed me with his knowledge of policy and kind approach. Took a prepaid FedEx package there bc my wife said she's sent them out numerous times from this location. I went here instead bc it was a lot closer. This location is easy to access from the outside it looks a little run down and the parking lot too. Inside there are many P.O. Boxes, so if you are looking for one, this place has them. This is also a location that does passport applications, however I recommend you check the schedule online as they do not process these throughout all their business hours. They do have the applications available to take and fill out ahead of time. This location has an area that you can buy some shipping materials as well. The staff here is always friendly. I don't think I have ever seen anyone cranky one bit. After the walk up area clothes there is still a little kiosk that can help you with some things like weighing and mailing a letter/mail and you can buy stamps for it. It is not a large USPS location, but it does the job. There is also a drive through turn about where you can drop your mail into a blue USPS. It is a good option when there is a sleeping child in the car. read more

Great post office with exceptional customer service. All employees were helpful, worked as hard as possible to get through the line, and went the extra mile. They offered multiple options to help lower shipping costs and were friendly than most other post offices I've been to previously. It's also very clean! This PO is horrible! Horrible service, they sent a very important package back to sender bc my address is 'undeliverable' when I live in a house. I called FEDEX who had the package and passed it on to USPS and all my info and everything is corret. I have received multiple packages before this. My sister in law lives 3 blocks down and was delivered a package via USPS and it was ripped open with all the contents gone. To add to this, we have had our mailbox flag up for 3 days to take mail and the mail person has not shown up. The USPS 1800 # is always a 30 minute wait at least and all the POs in this area will just keep redirecting you to other locations neglecting the fact that said location is actually closed. Its completely ridiculous. Not to mention the PO is in the friggin GHETTO. Get your shit together! read more
