Italian brat and potato salad
Dan R.

Well, the food was pretty good for what it was, but the pricing was a little high -even for an airport place. I mean $2.89 for a bottled soft drink? I guess being "piggish" extends from the menu items to the pricing strategy. I grabbed an Italian sausage before my flight out of Milwaukee. For $9.99 I got a hot dog- sized and great tasting Italian sausage with grilled onions on a roll. I had a choice of sides and went with the potato salad, which was pretty good too. It was warm with bits of bacon or ham and a bit of a zip to it, probably vinegar based. But paying nearly three bucks for a bottle of soda really rubbed me the wrong way.

For a $9 breakfast bagel, I expected better. Not worth the cost. Place used to be Johnny Rockets, and that was what I was looking for. Oh well.

I had a 1 1/2 hour layover at Milwaukee airport, it was past dinner time so I was hungry, but I wasn't in the mood for the usual airport fare - cold sandwiches, pizza or fast food burgers and fries. I came across Usinger's, which appears to be a restaurant operated here at the airport by a local Milwaukee sausage and meat company. I didn't go for their sausage offerings, as I still had a few hours of flights and car travel before I reached my destination and I didn't want to subject anyone to the horrible gas that certainly would've resulted if I'd eaten sausage. I settled on their grilled beef n' cheddar sandwich, which was billed as "freshly sliced Usinger's roast beef with Wisconsin cheddar cheese, topped with horseradish mayo". This sandwich was $8 and came with their house potato chips. After waiting about 5 minutes for my sandwich to be ready, I was a bit disappointed in it. While it was OK, I've had similar sandwiches from other restaurants which made me want to grab another for the road or at least return back on my next visit to have another. The one I had here was pretty tasteless overall, was served on standard bread slices so it wasn't very large and there weren't many chips served with it, so I walked away unimpressed and unsatisfied, wondering if the lack of taste was worth the calories considering the cheese and mayo that came on the sandwich, and the butter or whatever fat they grilled it in. I'll probably try this restaurant again if passing through this airport in the future, as it seems to be the only local offering in this concourse and they do offer a fairly wide variety of sandwiches and some other foods, but will definitely try something else on my next visit.

Not a bad choice for airport food, had breakfast, my eggs were as ordered, coffee was hot and my cup refilled promptly. No knock on the restaurant, but construction in airport was very noisy.

Brat with fried onions.

The bratwurst was very bland, and the caramelized onions didn't add to the flavor. The "brat bun" was too large for the brat by a lot and the home made chips didn't have flavor either. Disappointing for a $10 brat at a place known for their sausages and brats. Service was prompt once I let them know I had a flight to catch, but was very slow to initially greet me. Check out any of the other eateries, but not this place.

This airport stop-over restaurant in the "D" Concourse is pretty all-around average; nothing stands out as amazing but likewise there are no glaring issues here, either. I stopped in for lunch while waiting for a midday flight and found ample seating. The server was courteous and quick. The food was a touch slower than I would have liked, but this is a sit down place and not a kiosk, so it wasn't out of line. One downside is that there are no power outlets for travelers to charge their devices while eating. Pricing is high, but in line for airport costs. Overall, I was pleased and would eat here again.

Sausage, eggs over easy, wheat toast, tater tots.

As far as airport breakfast food goes, this place is quite meh. The service was fast and polite the last time I was there or breakfast before my flight, with decent food (eggs, sausage, toast, tots). I cannot say that the quality of the sausage was nearly as good as it was hyped up to be. I would give it 2.5 stars if possible. Definitely expensive for what you get.

Caveat: I just popped in for a beer while airport bar hopping waiting for my flight. Service was fine and the menu looked ok for bar food. The lady next to me got a plate of fried cheese curds which looked pretty crispy and had a large portion for he price. I decided to avoid the food weighing the high menu prices / poor Yelp railings.

Enough room for carry-ons, wait-service, reasonable pricing for an airport.

For airport dining, it could be worse. The service wasn't bad, but the problem is that the cluster of three restaurants here are staffed by a subcontract. We happened to get a good waitress, but the supervisor had to go find her first. We did see some poor service around us, I wouldn't choose any of the three if I were in a hurry. The Usinger products are, of course, pretty good, but the sandwich choices and sides end up being too greasy-fatty for getting on a long flight. I did like the cheese curds, but since I'm lactose intolerant I regretted them later. The area provides for a place to sit down with your luggage and relax for a bit before heading to the gate for some more waiting, kind of a an area to practice waiting for your real departure wait.

Starve before you even consider eating here. Filthy. Expensive. I expected the $15.00 for a burger and a brat. I did not expect the 19.50 for two beers. Not jumbo beers. Regular size domestic beers. The waitstaff was rude and apparently lazy as the airport was empty on a Saturday night, few people in the restaurant and numerous tables uncleared. The food was adequate. Don't do it. Vending machines are better than this. If I could give it less than one star or no starts I would. I probably will never buy a Usinger brat again in a grocery store after eating here.

Hire more people. That's a good start. Not fair to expect one person to both serve food and bus tables.

Food came out barely even warm. Stale bread and asked for no salsa on my burrito and salsa was all throughout. I wouldn't recommend

A couple months back I bought a few $15 for $30 deals online for places I hadn't been to before and…read moreDale Z's on Tour was one of them. When I walked in at 4:30pm the place was packed and very loud, to the point that I thought I walked in on a private party. After making sure that wasn't the case, I found a open seat out of the bar area. Their baseball bat appetizer (egg rolls with beef and cheese inside) reminded me of the cheeseburger shillelaghs that I like from Mo's Irish Pub, so I ordered those as well as hickory smoke BBQ wings and a BYO burger with extra American cheese and lettuce, which came with fries. Last time I was at Mo's the shillelaghs had three (or six when cut in half) to an order, so Dale Z's gives you less baseball bats per order with only two (or four when cut in half). They're fairly comparable, but I like that Mo's gives you sour cream with theirs compared to ranch or marinara at Dale Z's. The wings were good. I usually prefer breaded to grilled wings both for the crunchy texture and grill flavor can sometimes overpower the sauce or rub that's used. The hickory smoke BBQ wasn't going to be overpowered that day, yet it allowed the chicken to have its moments too. The burger, which I mostly ordered just to reach the $30 minimum for the deal I was using, ended up being the star. The cheese was gooey, the seasoning complemented the chargrilled flavor of the patty well, and it was cooked to a perfect medium like I ordered. Really a fantastic burger. The fries needed a little salt and pepper, but weren't bad as a side.

tl;dr - do you love pickleball!? If so, this is the place for you!…read more This place is a town bar and sort of a hidden gem with the very strange and interesting element of professional pickleball courts attached! The bar itself as so many TVs so you can watch many/any/all sports games you're looking for - but they even have some screens that are devoted to the action that's happening on the pickleball court! I am not a pickleball(er?) myself, but I have been very intrigued and excited to watch a passionate (competitive as heck) and interesting group of people get on the court and play. It is a sport that has a wide range of player ability so you are able to easily able to see all ages and types playing and having fun. The drinks there are inexpensive and great, the food is delicious and has always been quality and great portions when we've visited. We live nearby and are able to take the twins in the stroller for a walk, a beer and meal. We haven't been there too much at night, but I do know there are certain nights with a DJ, dancing and fun music. Make sure you keep an eye on their daily specials and happy hour. Pool table, darts, bar dice and other fun things are waiting inside if you're not the pickleball type. Get yourself over to Dale Z's!
