I had to give it a 1star because the Pepsi was good. OK we have been here every once in a while & my family was here from Maine. I was telling them about the "Fish & Chips" from here how great it was. We ordered 3 of them. When it came out I was shocked!!! There were 3 , 2 inch pieces of fish!!!! I asked the waiter to tell the owner I would like to speak to him. The owner came over & said I'll take care of it & walked away never to be seen again. Honestly loved this place , food was great , had an awesome lunch special, pretty fair for the blue collar workers who kept that place running during winter and the non summer months....Today that changed , went in today to find another restaurant running their food, and NO MORE LUNCH SPECIAL..... the price went UP, Quality DOWN and Portion DOWN! Honestly felt bad for the bartenders that we know and love, they will lose all the buisness of the working people who've they've spent years making friendships with . The outdoor dining plans to be open through November with heaters and is covered by shade sails to protect from the sun. The food is fair to mediocre. The service was fine and the place itself is a nice place, but gets very very crowded at the bar and bar area.

Great food but service hasn't been the best the three separate times I've been there. Bus boys gave us our appetizers and entrees at the same time with no room on the table and blamed it on the kitchen. Very loud inside and because of its location there isn't a real outdoor seating option. The live bands / music at night are great, but always feels like a rushed experience. NOT following COVID laws!! They have tables set in the parking lot. We couldn't enjoy the food because we were so bothered by the lack of precautions by the owner/hostess/manager. Not sure who she was but she was clearly the boss and not only was she without a mask or gloves while seating people and helping waitresses SERVE FOOD and drinks with NO MASK or GLOVES, but one of the cooks came out the front door holding plates of food in each hand and he also had on no mask or gloves!! My Daughter asked the owner if she was allowed to go inside to a use the bathroom if she wore a mask and the owners reply was, 'you don't need a mask, I refuse to be the COVID police'! WTH!!! if you are open for business, follow the laws, we don't want to die for a mediocre meal in a parking lot! UPDATE: THIS doesn't sound like a concerned owner to me!! So rather than follow the LAW, she tells us to stay home!! So you have no regard for the law or the health and well-being of your customers, so we should stay home and not spend our hard earned money at your place? Hostess looked miserable when we walked in...whatever I could care less as long as my food is good. Then when my " Fish & Chips" arrived I realized why she doesn't smile...she probably ordered the F&C too..... OMG. I do consider myself a bit of a F&C expert but this was unedible....is that a word? I'm being generous with two stars. The food here is pretty solid but a few of the servers are the absolutely horrible. They are incredibly rude and ill mannered, don't check in on you, just service the locals and sit on their cell phones while you wait 27 minutes for your burgers to be brought over.. the burgers that were cold from being left unattended. Really a shame because it's down the block from our shore house, the convenience is amazing but won't be back after two bad experiences. A professional restaurant should have some decorum with regards to respecting their customers. Manager is so cocky that you cannot tell if he is a joking personality or just plain mean. Its loud and short staffed. We ordered our apps and meals. Took 45 mins for apps and 45 mins for meals to come out. Food was average at best. Place wasn't crowded so my only guess is that they just are slow. The Head Bartender has a serious attitude problem. Not a sweet person just all hurry up so I can go back to talk to my other friend the bartender. Oh and don't bother me, I'm busy... I've been to some top dining spots all along the Jersey Shore.. Used to be's is a wonderful little spot on the island. The food is excellent- atmosphere is great, and the place runs a great business. We sat down and ordered some drinks which were delicious, the drink menu has a good variety of different options for people who like different things. Food came out shortly after and everything was delicious- the burger was very flavorful and one of the best my boyfriend has ever had! The pizza was delicious and better than most bar pies I've tried. The owner or manager was also extremely attentive and helpful, he came around to all the tables making sure everything was great while also running food/drinks. He also helped direct me to the bathroom before I needed to ask. I love to see that level of attentiveness, as well as the teamwork between the rest of the staff. This was our first time dining here. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised by their gluten free options (bread, pasta, pizza and various dishes)! My husband had a sliced steak sandwich and I had a bowl of chicken rice soup. We also shared wings. Our waiter was awesomely and service was great. The food is very good. So I have been coming to shore house (Chadwick beach )for years and about 2 miles away is a place called use to be's bar and restaurant and I never went there. So finally here I am. The outside is a little dark and really not that inviting. The inside is completely different. Comfortably lit, wood floors, booths about and very clean. There is also a large bar to sit at if you wish. The waitress who was very nice and professional advised they are known for their burgers, however they have a very wide menu with prices ranging from $11 to $25. While waiting for food the table is covered with paper and they give you crayons to draw on it. So I'm playing hang man right now lol. I ordered the UTB burger medium rare and my girlfriend ordered the chicken sandwich. Both came with fries. The meals arrived and were good portion. The chicken sandwich was done nice and tasted very good. My burger was done perfectly however it lacked seasoning. The caramelized onions were very tasty just wished there were more.
