They have live music, outdoor (& indoor) seating, and good beer on tap. All pluses. However, I'm never wowed by the food. They somewhat try to be kid friendly (which I get: it's a bar, so they don't need to be) but their fries are more like potato wedges and the chicken fingers aren't quite kid-approved. I got the burger and it was fine.

Great spot- just had drinks and apps, but the absolute best nachos and great empanadas!

I visited here Friday for happy hour. They have a nice bar outside but we opted for inside being it was a little windy. We decided to have a nosh and cocktail before heading to dinner at Ohana. The sliced strip with tomato appetizer was fantastic. It was prepared in a red vinegar sauce and very tender. I also had the house tequila on the rocks. Not bad for $7. Loved this local Lavalette bar. Cute seaside town.

A must-visit when the weather is too beautiful to be dining inside! Any place that allows me to enjoy a drink while waiting for a table is an excellent spot in my book and Castaways Pub offers just that! They've got a small bar with beachy decor and lively energy right outside for you to enjoy a cocktail roadside! It was a beautiful day, so my friends and I were able to hang out there for about 20 minutes before they sat us in the outdoor bar patio area for lunch. While it wasn't a large outdoor bar area, it worked perfectly for the 5 of us and made for a fun spot to kick back and relax before dining. Once we were seated, I went for the Castaway House Burger. The burger did not disappoint - it was juicy with gooey cheddar cheese and a whiskey-aged barrel sauce that took the burger to the next level. To finish off our meal, we decided to indulge in the Chocolate Skyscraper Cake. It was a masterpiece of chocolate cake layers and rich chocolate frosting, topped with a little mint leaf. What really set Castaways Pub apart for me, though, was the outdoor patio seating. The patio was situated on the corner of the street, giving us an amazing view of the bustling street and a hint of ocean scent just beyond the horizon. The atmosphere was lively and fun, with a mix of families, couples, and friends and the staff was fast with their table service and kept checking in on our drinks at a good pace for our group.

I'm a local and really like this place. Good food, and good drink selections. The service is always great too.

Cute little pub.. friendly staff. Food was good, but typical. Gets very crowded with long wait in the summer of course.

Wifey and I saw this place yesterday and decided to give them a try. We showed up about 5:40 and…read morewere seated right away. The hostess sat us in the bar area, which was fine, but seemed an odd choice. Our waitress came over for a drink order before I had even picked up the menu. My wife quickly ordered the Ginger Minty Paloma and I had an Old Fashioned. Wifey's drink was amazing and tasted like 14 more. Mine was just ok, but when you drink them fairly regularly there's not much you can do to make them 'different.' We decided to just split our food. We ordered a Wedge Salad - they put a balsamic glaze on it and it was REALLY GOOD. This came very quickly. We split The Rocco Pizza - vodka sauce, cheese and pieces of fried chicken cutlet. Unfortunately, this was a miss for us. The taste was fine, but neither of us liked the crust and wasn't hot enough. Didn't seem like your normal 'brick oven pizza.' We also split a 'small plate' of linguini and clams. This was just ok as well. The fresh clams were great, but the others were pretty chewy. The whole plate also needed salt. Service was pleasant and fairly quick, but the food was overall just ok. The place itself looked like it would be pretty fun if I was in my 20s. There was a band setting up and I bet the place gets pretty loud.

The food here was actually pretty good- fresh, flavorful, and came out as expected. I ordered the…read morelamb chops with grits and I will say - the grits were the best I've ever had. The crowd was mostly over 60 which is nice since no kids were there but I'm 45 and it wasn't as lively as I would have liked. The bands playing were good too but the atmosphere felt a little flat. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't memorable either. Not my cup of tea for hanging out but I'd go back for dinner.

Well mannered , knowledgeable about the menu , sincere all well moving with a purpose. He treated us a lonely table of 2 like we were his only priority well simultaneously handling a 10 , 4 and 6 top. We sat in the side dining room facing the kitchen pass. We watched 6 pros handle business. Minimal words just chin gestures and some pointing. Some serious heat was moving thru that kitchen being passed to runners that kept that fire alive calling for garnish extra sauce and accoutrements as if it was Orchestra.Food was phenomenal. Egregious portions. Flavors layer. Sweet salty fatty creamy one after another nothing standing too far out or too far behind. The spice in the seafood dish was about right to let you know it was there but not over stay it's welcome. Plump seafood with a clean finish. We shared a bite with each other and went for seconds. The dessert a catcher's mitt size of chunk of old style ricotta cheese cake. Mind you all this was happening when they were serving a wedding of 50 in the back room. Two cons. The a/c wasn't working it was a little warm. I won't harp too much on that we had extreme weather the day prior. Number 2 . Truffle oil. The table next to us ordered truffle fries. We smelt it , the table on the far side of us smelt it. Truffle oil is so strong you can smell it on your clothes the next day.
