There is zero chance anyone is choosing mediacom over competition. The ONLY reason people "choose "…read moremediacom is because of no actual choice. Also Don't be fooled by Mediacom "Total Care". This is a department that seems very trained in "legalese" and are depending on customer ignorance to push service problems back on the customer. The only reason the "Total Care" email is spammed all over social media, reddit, Google/Yelp reviews, etc is to give the illusion they are fixing the customer issues. They simply aren't. tl;dr - In my opinion (and others), this department is a waste of time. My advice is to avoid Mediacom if you can. Sometimes you get lucky and their service works great but as someone who spends a lot of time on the internet, their service is very subpar for the price.

Only to find out that my Apple Mail would not work! My email provider, Spectrum, could not verify my credentials, so I could not add my account to Apple Mail. After 2 years of arguing and using Webmail, with both companies blaming each other and Apple, I couldn't take it anymore! I switched back to Mediacom, so now I'm tearing out what little hair I have left!! The service was installed in mid-May, and the cable is still not buried!!! I have called, texted, emailed, chatted, and even went into their Iowa City office! All I get is apologies and excuses! And the worst thing is, their Customer Service phone lines and chat ring in the Philippines! Nice people, but they do not have a clue!! At least Imon had USA-based Customer Service!

If you visit the URL and scroll towards the bottom you will see it. I sent a message thru their webform and got a call back and a message left. I returned that call and spoke with someone who insisted there is no $64 package and that I would be paying $90 for it instead. I even gave the person the page URL and he instead that they (presumable those at the Cedar Rapids office) were not responsible for what was on their corporate webpage. I posted on Big Dog's Facebook page which they promptly deleted (so I reposted and will continue to do so) and sent email through their link title Corporate on their page. A few minutes later I got a call from Zach to resolve this issue...which didn't get resolved. It just got Zach repeating that Dish Network is responsible for the pricing, no matter what the BD website says. He decided he was going to keep overtalking me and raising his voice, not a smart customer service type thing to do. I hung up on him and now I know why we left Dish Network many years ago.

I had to call to clarify my order several times, and despite this, the field tech who came to install things was still unaware of half of my order and therefore had none of the supplies to set us up with internet, which is the only service we really wanted; they had convinced us that bundling would be the better deal in the long run. He discovered while he was there that First Avenue could not in fact provide the high speed internet that I was promised, so I asked him to cancel my order before charges were applied. "No problem," he said, "just let me know by 3:00 tomorrow that you for sure want to cancel, and I'll make sure your service doesn't get turned on." He emailed me the following day saying that he was not able to cancel my order (as he assured me he could), and instructed me to call Corporate DirecTV. Once I got through all the automation of Corporate's customer service, I found out from a corporate rep that First Avenue had activated my service 5 days before they were set to install it. This meant that the 24 hour grace period had long passed, and I was looking at a $400+ early termination fee, and nothing had even been installed! The corporate rep was surprised to learn that my service had been active for so long without actually being installed, and he said certainly it's not proper to be billed for service prior to installation, yet a bill from First Avenue is en route to me for the service I did *not* receive between 8/6/15 and 9/5/15. If you're reading this, hopefully you're in an area that is covered by the mainstream providers. Though it can be a hassle to deal with the big companies, like CenturyLink and MediaCom, they are so much better equipped to deal with customers. Spare yourself the trouble.

Terrible customer service. My aunt bought an overpriced cell phone case, poor quality. Anyway, she…read morefound one online that same evening and decided to purchase it. We decided to return her other case back to Cellairis the next day. I went into the mall for her and gave the receipt and case back to the employee there who told me that she could not do returns. When I asked why she said that she was not authorized, nor was she trained to do so and that I would have to come back when they had some other employees at the store. I told her that we didn't live close and that the phone case that was purchased was for my aunt and she was returning home to where she lives and we would not be able to come back. So I insisted that something be done to help us out and she said she couldn't do anything. I insisted that she call a manager and get the approval to offer the return and she said that she could not call him and that I would have to because his number is a long distance number. So I had to use my phone and called twice with no success at all. Chris was his name and he was the manager who hired the girl at the counter. Chris, why would you leave a seemingly nice girl, untrained, and alone at your store? You are a bad manager and have set her up to fail. The girl at the counter then said that we could try and call Laura, another employee of the store. Laura is the reason I am writing this review. The first thing that she explained was that I would be charged a 20% restocking fee. I read their return policy........... In order to receive either a FULL REFUND or full value for an exchange, then you must (i) be returning a NEW AND UNUSED ITEM item that has never been opened (if the item was in a package); (ii) bring the item back ONLY to the store where you purchased the item; (iii) within 7 days of the purchase of the item; (iv) with the original receipt. If you choose to exchange the item for a more expensive item than the item you had originally purchased, then you would owe the difference in price, and if you choose to exchange the item for a less expensive item than the one you had originally purchased, then you will receive a refund for the difference. For undamaged used items or undamaged items that have been opened (if the item was in a package) then you will receive either a refund of the purchase price less a restocking fee of 20% of the purchase price (unless the restocking fee is prohibited by law) or you can exchange the item and receive a credit of the purchase price less a 20% restocking fee as long as you (i) bring the item back ONLY to the store where you purchased the item; (ii) within 7 days of the purchase of the item; (iii) with the original receipt. If you choose to exchange the item(s) for a more expensive item than the item(s) you had originally purchased, then you would owe the difference in price, and if you choose to exchange the item(s) for a less expensive item than the one you had originally purchased, then you will receive a refund for the difference. Any applicable restocking fee will not apply if you choose to exchange the item for another item of equal or greater value. I was returning a NEW AND UNUSED ITEM not an UNDAMAGED USED ITEM or UNDAMAGED ITEM THAT WAS OPENED. Laura thinks she understands the policy. She clearly doesn't. Not every return should be charged a restocking fee. There are two paragraphs listed here for a reason. When I asked about that she told me that my item wasn't new because my Aunt's phone was placed into it after she had purchased the phone, by the clerk who sold it to her. The case was in perfect condition. Back to the phone call. As I was trying to explain the company's policy to her, the employee, she became rude, demanding, condescending, and finally hung up on me. The clerk at the store had to call her back to learn how to do the return. I finally said return the item and keep the restocking fee because I knew that I would not be able to return to the mall that week. One of the things Laura tried to use to justify their "strict" return policy was tell me that Forever 21 doesn't even offer returns. I guess she tried to tell me that to make me feel better that I had to pay Cellairis money to return my item. When I told her that Kohl's accepts anything back she told me that that is not even the same thing and that I can't compare their store with Kohl's. I didn't know Forever 21 was a cell phone accessory store. News to me. To the girl who couldn't process a simple return, find a new job. It is clear Chris and Laura don't care much about you when they leave you untrained to handle the everyday situations that a person in your position should know how to take care of.
