The service and actual bookstore is amazing. I could be there all day, BUT the escalators half work and that is frustrating. I ended up hurting my knee going up the first flight. Luckily I caught the elevator to the third floor but my knee has been hurting for the last 3 days. They have lots of customers so getting it fixed should be a priority. They should have a sign letting people know an elevator is available so they don't get hurt going up the stairs. The bookstore is extremely expensive but everything is quality and there really isn't a college bookstore that isn't expensive, and USC is a famous school. Just know you can easily go in and drop 300 to 500 dollars or more on merch. There is a huge selection of items from sweatshirts to license plate frames, shower flats, jewlery, school supplies, ornaments, lanyards, tote bags, food, over the counter meds, I didn't see socks but they probably are there too. Just keep your head on a swivel stick so you don't miss anything. read more

The USC Bookstore was a staple as a student and as an alum, the go to place for USC gear. The staff is always helpful and smiling. Licensed collegiate gear tends to be on the pricey side unless on sale. My friend and I were excited to see Hello Kitty collab for tshirts, hoodies, hats and stickers. One thing I wish I had known years ago was that if you have your Alumni ID number you can get a discount. read more

Wow. This place is amazing! I was dumbfounded at the sheer assortment of items. I believe they have 3, maybe 4 *levels* of items to buy. It really is a beautiful and well organized store. The check out is another story, but they do their best. If you're going right before a game, expect certain items with wording of their rivals to be sold out. So buy them ahead of time to avoid being out of luck. Thanks also to a Yelp! search I found out there is a closer (albeit smaller!) store selling USC items in Costa Mesa at South Coast Plaza. So that's also another option if it's not out of the way for you. I live in San Diego county, so it's much closer to me than the campus store. But there's no beating the campus store's sheer volume of items. I dream about going back. Maybe one day! read more

Having everything you could possibly want related to the University of Southern California, the USC bookstore has 4 levels of product for both the student and friends of the University to get their USC fix satisfied. It's been a long time since my wife and I have been back on campus (probably last time being my daughter's graduation). Because of the recent protests, the campus is very different during summer session: there are only a few entrances open (the one on McCarthy and Figueroa being one of them) and a QR code pass given by a USC employee must be gotten beforehand for the day to enter. The daily parking rate is now $20, with the hourly rate being $4 and it is all smartphone based using your license plate (I messed up and started with the hourly rate, then switched to daily...you do NOT get credit for money already paid so ended up paying over $30 in parking). You then have to go through a security screening (bag check) along with showing your invitation. Once inside, we noticed how much of the campus open, grassy areas are cordoned off with unpleasing, temporary metal barriers. It's a beautiful campus with well coordinated architecture, and (imo) those barriers really took away from that. Really hope it is temporary. Since we had about an hour to kill before my daughter's photo appointment, we walked to the bookstore. Summer hours are M-F (8-6); Sa (9-5); Su (10-5). The bookstore is as nice as ever, both customers and products having plenty of space. There are escalators to every floor, and we ended up going to each one. The checkout is only the first floor however, and it is set-up to handle a huge rush of customers (for students at the beginning of a semester). Happily, there were discontinued products on sale, and my wife finally got a USC Mom's t-shirt for a good price. They also ended up buying USC sports paraphernalia for my daughter's new dog (who had come with us for the photo shoot). Finally, floor 2 had party supplies with USC logos and my wife found what she wanted to use to decorate her planned wedding favors. Nike is the official sports outfitter for USC, and there is a ton of Nike gear on the 1st floor, though at very California prices. And the top floor has things for alumnni and family of graduates. As mentioned, the cashiers are on the first floor and the bookstore is now cashless. And because they have so much space, they sell department type items not related to USC at all (like sunglasses and electronics). read more

Having been an SC student some 20+ years ago, today's bookstore looks nothing like the bookstore of the past. When I was a student, there were multiple floors of books and supplies with a very small selection of clothing. Now the bookstore has 3 whole floors dedicated to clothing and one floor with traditional bookstore related items. While it's incredible to see the diverse selection of merchandise, I found that many shirts, sweatshirts and jackets didn't come in sizes larger than XL. When I asked some of the floor associates, they told me to visit the website in order to find XXL clothing options. Regarding the associates, I found them to be extremely helpful. Whenever I was looking for something, they were quick to step in and show me exactly where to find the item. The check out experience, on the other hand, was not positive. I counted over 40 people waiting in line to check out with only 2 registers open. I imagine the university is making millions from the bookstore, so I don't understand why they can't have a few additional registers open to reduce the wait times. I'm sure I'll return to the USC Bookstore the next time I visit campus, but I recently found out that some department stores, such as Kohl's, carry hundreds of USC clothing items, and they offer better pricing. A black Nike dry-fit shirt I saw at the bookstore for $55 was around $30 at Kohl's. Fight on! read more

Definitely a large selection, but don't expect to find 3XL shirts and sweatshirts (or larger, I presume). Not all alumni are still "college-size", lol. Very disappointed in newer hats...seems they changed some vendors, and hats are cut smaller. Example: my "USC Dad" hat was replaced for the 3rd or 4th time...new one has the right size "band", but the "body" is almost kid size. I was on a day trip with my kids and for nostalgia sake brought them to USC to "meet" Tommy Trojan and visit the bookstore to buy stuff and things. It's been awhile since I've visited and I was pleasantly surprised by the overall reorganization of the store - far easier to navigate than in times past. The 2nd floor - where all the shirts and memorabilia are - was configured in a "u" shape allowing for ease of shopping. Everything was easy to see, easier to find. We left with no regrets dropping coin on some fun souvenirs for us all. I have a special shout out to the parking attendant off of the McClintock entrance who so kindly allowed us free parking since we were there just to talk the campus! To him, I say, "Fight On!" for having the prescience to do this and for great customer service!! read more

it's graduation week. The bookstore is accessible via certain specific gates. You may be able to find staff with yellow and gold jacket at those gates (for the ones that are pedestrian only). I found that there is mentioning of scheduling visiting hours online. However, it is not applicable now as they are open to all. (I tried calling many times to ask but no one answered. I called the HSC bookstore instead, where they have staff who manned the phone and they let me know of the current policy.) The staff does not seem well trained. The cashier keeps having to ask someone else to help. There is a good selection of products. As many have noted, gosh they are pricey! read more

Wow. We visited the bookstore after college door at USC. This is an awesome bookstore, with three floors. OK you walk onto the main floor which sells all US C labeled stuff, downstairs is the area where they keep textbooks and pens, and upstairs is where they keep the T-shirts,some makeup, some normal clothes that don't have red and yellow all over them. You can buy all sorts of things here: Mugs, license plates, scarves, beanies with pom-poms on them, jerseys and jackets. It's a little bit pricey. Overall a fun experience. read more

Staff that works at the bookstore are not knowledgeable on certain rules, restrictions and protocol of returning, renting and purchasing books. Called to see if I could extend my renta as my semester was not finished yet. Representative told Me that the extension was until the 20th. Then I come in and they said it is only until the 18th, put my books on hold. Come in with my rental on the 15th and try to purchase, rent books, they tell me that the system needs 24-48 hours to update so I cannot do anything for about 2 days. Not helpful and extremely inconvenient. read more

I can't tell you how many hours I've spent wandering the USC bookstore between classes when I was a student here, spending money on things I really didn't need. I think on one particular occasion I almost bought an infant-sized cheerleader outfit. It was irresistibly cute! Great selection of anything you can possibly imagine. Christmas ornaments. Heat resistant cooking mitts. Shot glasses. Piggy banks. Lawn chairs. Golf balls. Paper plates. Inflatable coolers. Cutting boards. Snow globes. Kickboards. Wreaths. I love the USC bookstore! I've been here numerous times throughout my four years spent here on campus, and I have never been disappointed. First floor - regular books, newsstand, magazines, checkout. There's even a piano and sometimes if you're lucky, there's someone playing some cool live jazzy music or even some classical music for all you Mozart fans. Second floor - USC attire--and LOTS of it! You can find something for every single member of your family in whatever size you want. The only thing limited is color choice... they basically only have cardinal, gold, black, gray, and white USC gear, unlike other college campuses who sell their sweaters and shirts in every color and shade of the rainbow. But that's just because USC has school spirit! Woooo! Fight on! They also have keychains, stuffed animals, and all that other good stuff here too. Third floor - stationery, textbooks, art supplies, course readers, lab manuals, lab coats, blue books for exams, scantrons, all the misc. stuff basically is located here, including customer service. They also have big black shoulder totes next to the escalator so you can put all your heavy textbooks in them so you don't have to sweat and carry them in your arms as you browse through the store. Basement - My 2 favorite C's: clothes and computers! This is where all the non-USC clothing is located, and lots of it too! And the computer section--they sell everything from iPods to flash drives to the newest MacBook, which is actually what I'm typing this review on right now! Service is also always very friendly and speedy! All in all, I may be a tad bit biased but I really do believe this is the best campus bookstore in the nation. :) read more

More Trojan paraphernalia than you can shake a stick at. I think the only thing I didn't get from here was the risque shirt sold by the ID table the year Trojan Condoms decided to withdraw their sponsorship. My supervisors bought me an alumni coffee mug from here, and my roommate picked out a gym shirt with the campus logo on it. One of my exes enjoyed a flask from here once they banned alcohol from the Coliseum. Buying and selling back textbooks here is a ripoff with the profit buffer they get from the convenience of being on campus. Generally a better idea to get used texts online once your official book list comes out for each course, but I've definitely abused libraries and other resources for textbook access with enough planning ahead. read more

I have never had an issue here and they do their best on gamedays in terms of crowd control and lines. Just avoid on gamedays and go during a weekday to get the best selection. If I have extra time while I'm out of town, I like to visit college campuses, though I just don't visit ANY college campus. I live in the Chicago area and visited UCLA a few times, I thought I'd kill some time before heading back to the airport and check out USC. Unfortunately it was night time and I didn't wander around too much but I made way to the Bookstore. I parked a little "illegally" so my visit was quick. This place is HUGE so I wish I had more time to wander around. The place is 4 floors and has EVERYTHING and ANYTHING you need from snacks, to tailgating gear to all kinds of clothes! I really don't like writing negative reviews, but sometimes, you just really have to. I am writing this review strictly on the service I received at the cashier, not just once, but on multiple occasions. On the other hand, the sales associates walking on the floor were nice and very helpful in answering my questions and locating things. Yes, I know I am a Berkeley alumni and despite the fact that both my Bank of America debit and credit cards have the Cal Alumni logo on it, that DOES NOT mean you have the right to give me attitude and rude behavior, especially now that I'm officially a graduate student at USC. When they asked for some form of ID as proof that the card of payment actually belonged to me, you'd think that flashing my student ID would ease the tension, BUT NO! Dirty looks, slapping of receipts on the table, heavy sighing, and eye rolling continued to proceed. Like seriously, guys! What is your problem? I'M ONE OF YOU NOW! Is all this attitude really necessary? The sales associates at the cashiers were perfectly fine, extremely friendly, and very helpful prior to payment. We even had a friendly conversation about our plans for the weekend. However, once the cards came out, everything changed. I know you guys have school spirit, and I don't blame you. PAC-12 schools have serious pride in their school. I know for sure that there's a lot of school spirit at Cal, also. But this is customer service! Unacceptable. read more

Talk about a double edged sword. This place is the ultimate USC gift location. They have it all with a USC logo and a few things you wouldn't have ever imagined to boot. However the prices are a bit daunting and you are in the ripoff LA tax zone. Pro Tip: Go to South Coast Plaza in OC for cheaper prices due to lower tax rates on USC swag. The bookstore is a multi-level building that has text books, used and new; swag of every kind; original artwork, prints, lithographs; regular books, and who knows what all else for sale on one of its multiple floors. This is a must stop for students who cant find the latest textbook off campus for cheaper or alumni who want to try stuff on before buying it. The bookstore is located almost dead center in campus; however Bovard Auditorium is center and this is right next to it so yeah, it's a bit of a walk from any of the parking structures or off campus free bee/metered parking areas. Be forewarned that the main entrance is up a flight of stairs; however a wheel chair access ramp is located on the western side if needed. Elevators and escalators are all over on the inside. I absolutely love the products and the fact that they can have more than 20 registers open when needed. I don't like that they often have to regulate how many people are moving in and out of the building on football game day or the beginning of the school year. Overall this place would be even more awesome if the prices weren't so substantial and the tax rate was not so inflated thanks to our lovely LA politicians... read more
