And between Thanksgiving and Christmas -- I went Dec. 24 -- it's open seven days a week: Working overtime! Basically, this seems to be the warehouse outlet of a toy importer. There are many kinds of toys here, but they tend to range between those with wheels -- any kind, for boys -- and those in pink boxes -- any kind, for girls. Prices range between 75 cents and $40 for the most part, and I picked up some nice items. There are bad-form Go-Bot and Transformers knockoffs with badly translated tray cards and poor design. There are Bratz and other rip-offs, almost indistinguishable from the usual fare. And there are other objects ranging from balls to multi-vehicle toy sets. Many of the toys I'm sure you can find elsewhere in the Toy District, but for a one-stop shop and bargain prices, you can't beat the Mega. Take the walk, or at least stop off in Little Tokyo for the manga and anime shop we skipped and the upstairs Japanese-language bookstore. The toystore itself is worth a trip, I'd imagine even moreso when it's fully stocked. It certainly wasn't the day before Christmas. Toys galore. And glorious.

He took the time to walk with us around the store, answering questions, opening cases and getting to know us. My son walked out with his first Mighty Ducks figure and my Dad started a new collection of Street Sharks. I am very on edge when taking a kid (9 years old) into a store like this as it can be overwhelming, but as soon as Mike interacted with my son, the stress went right away. As for selection, they have made some changes to the store to include more merchandise and less claw games. The merchandise is great, and there are still enough claw games to play. Heads up: the claw games take the special tokens that you purchase at the back of the store. Overall, this place is amazing! Our little one loves it especially now that he can participate. I decided to purchase it and when I got home and opened it the packed were visibly tampered with. A few packs had a thin silver line showing at the top and some had minor air pockets compared to major store bought packs. Not only that but each pack opened THE EXACT SAME WAY - easily pealed perfectly from the top and down the back middle seal. I paid $180 PLUS TAX so to say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I can't speak for their single packs but after this experience with the etb I'm never purchasing from here again. I stupidly said no to a receipt so I doubt I can ask for a refund now but be warned if u do buy Pokemon cards here BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

The store has an awesome vibe, with tournaments going on and lots of people laughing, playing, and having a great time. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Draven was amazing! His knowledge of Magic: The Gathering is next level, and he took the time to teach my son the basics without making him feel overwhelmed. As a parent of a total newbie, I really appreciated that. Merchandise on the left and right side of the warehouse on racks are all priced as marked & are regular merchandise. Still super cheap prices. The wooden bins in the center of the warehouse have different pricing depending on what day of the week you visit. The day's special prices are marked on the white dry erase board that is visible upon entry. The pricing structure is as follow: Friday = a warehouse full of new inventory released to the public. Highest price with most selection. Ex. $12 pants. Saturday = whatever that is left is now marked down by a %, say 50%. Ex. $6 Sunday = whatever that remains is now marked down again, say now $5 Monday = whatever that remains is marked down once more to say $4 Tuesday = whatever that remains is now marked down to $3 Wednesday = whatever that remains now is $2 Thursday = whatever that remains is now $1. On this day, something that costs you $12 if you bought it last Friday will now only cost you $1 to buy the same item ---IF it remains available for purchase. Clothes on this day often becomes "fill a whole bag for $20". Seriously a steal, if you find anything good to steal. So by Thursday, most of the stuff is sold out, only a few bins to browse through, while 3/4th of the warehouse is yellow-taped out for no-entry or no-browsing and will be made available the next day.
