BEWARE ! BEWARE !
My fiancé and I recently purchased a used Ford Fusion with 78k miles and have had nothing but HEADACHES ever since. After owning the car for about two weeks we were left stranded in the middle of Virginia to a car that would not even turn over. Several warning lights went off on the instrument cluster and the car was completely unresponsive to my (1) key. I called the dealer to communicate my issues with them and see if they could connect a few dots about any underlying issues with the vehicle. As expected, nothing came about on this first call. I had a mechanic look at it for the next week (more money out of my pocket) only to find out that they would need a SPARE KEY to fully troubleshoot the source of my issues. I called the dealer again because after 1 month and 3 days I had not received my tags and never got the spare key or the $25 gas card I was contractually promised. Without the spare key the mechanic found the only possible solution to be a replacement of the computer (PCM). That would come at a rate of $1600. I communicated this information to the dealer. They told me the spare key should be on the way. No help was offered on the repair of this LEMON. About two whole weeks pass and I receive a phone call that looked very similar to USAL services. It's a phone call from an office associate congratulating me on my new car. They asked if I was able to come and get my tags. I replied "No. I couldn't make it there if I wanted to, the car has broken down after owning it for 2 weeks". She obviously didn't hear a word that I said. I also asked about the spare key I was promised, yet , She promptly asked for my mailing address and ended the phone call. After rejecting the PCM replacement service, I had the vehicle towed to my residence as I look for another means for repair. Another 2 weeks pass and despite the BAD vibes I'm getting from this purchase, I had a sense of hope when I noticed a Ford Key in my mailbox (a month plus later). Deep down, I felt like this was too good to be true. Seriously, I didn't anticipate this company assisting me in anyway without taking this issue to court. Before TOWING my car to a mechanic again, I felt like it was necessary to test this spare key out. It wouldn't be the first LET DOWN and definitely wouldn't be my last. After two months of ownership and only being able to drive the car two weeks this dealership issued out the WRONG KEY! This will now become another unexpected DELAY to get my car running again. This has been the worst consumer experience of my entire life. I would not wish the hardships of this on to my worst enemy. For anyone that is reading:
