Crack in the power liftgate of my new 2024 Toyota Prius Prime XSE Premium

This sentence in my review should be corrected to read: "For example, they (Koons Tysons Toyota) twice told me I needed an alignment when at least three other auto repair shops told me no alignment was needed." Also, I made the mistake of picking up my new 2024 Prius prime XSE premium at night (so I did not notice the crack in the power liftgate at that time). However, my wife picked up her new Volvo S60 at night last year, and the salesman went over the car with a flashlight (with her standing by) to ensure there were no defects before she drove the car home. Needless to say, I would Never buy another car from Koons Tysons Toyota, nor would I make use of their service department if I could possibly help it. And for those of you who might doubt that other Toyota dealers readily agreed to fix a non-impact-related crack in the power liftgate of 2023 to 2024 Prius primes, please do an online search for Toyota Prius Prime cracks repaired under warranty. You will see several instances in Reddit where the crack was fixed by the dealer under the warranty when there was no evidence of impact. The advice I got from the Koons service department was, "See if your auto insurance will cover the repair." GEICO (my insurance) said they would only cover the repair if I could prove that crack was made within the United States. Since the Prius is exclusively manufactured in Japan, this could have proved difficult, especially since the crack (which seemed to be torsion-related) probably occurred during assembly and/or transport.

Missing oil cap after regular maintenance

New exhaust smell and strange sound after 70k scheduled maintenance. Customer service was negligible. Had 430 appointment. Showed up a little after 4pm. Had small child with me. Texted back number twice asking for estimated wait time to no response. Last customer in lounge and had to approach desk about status of car to find 3 men standing around complaining about mechanics and was told "oh yea it's done" to which I asked, "why didn't you text me?" Response: " oh we just finished it." Was sent outside to "valet" to get car with my key and no one was out there. THEY FORGOT TO PUT OIL CAP BACK ON. CAR SMELLED OF BURNT OIL FOR DAYS. Had to buy my own replacement.

$379 for my replacement 12v battery at Koons with the $20 discount from returning the old battery. Ourisman Toyota is 18 miles away for $50 less. Ourisman will my first call in the future.

Black and white proof that the warranty I was sold was totally useless from the start.

Hi, I bought a Toyota Corolla 2014 from you in November 2016. My glove box handle broke off and it's just sitting there shut out. Does the 1 year warranty cover replacement/fixing it?

Hi Rajeev, could you please provide me with your full name, phone number, and vin number if possible? Thanks!

My previous car was recently totaled after someone hit it, so timing was a major factor in my decision. The sales representative told me that because the vehicle was in inventory, delivery should take only 1-3 days. That is not what happened. After placing the order on Sunday, I reached out to my sales representative twice on Monday and received no response. I followed up again on Tuesday and finally received confirmation that my order had been placed--but still no information on when I could pick up the car. By Wednesday I still had no delivery date, so I called again. Only then was I told that pickup would likely be more than a week away. This is extremely frustrating because the entire reason I selected this particular vehicle was that it was supposedly in stock and ready for quick delivery. I even chose a configuration with options I didn't necessarily want or need simply because it was available immediately. That means I'm paying more for the car than I intended, yet still not getting the faster delivery that was promised. Because of the delay, I now have to continue paying for a rental car while I wait. At this point, the additional rental cost will likely be around $750 out of pocket, which I would not have incurred if the delivery timeline had been accurate. For a company positioning itself as a premium brand, the communication and coordination around delivery have been extremely disappointing. If a vehicle listed as "in stock" actually requires more than a week to deliver, that should be communicated clearly upfront--especially when customers are told to expect delivery within 1-3 days. What should have been an exciting purchase experience has instead been frustrating and unnecessarily expensive due to poor communication and unrealistic delivery expectations.

A+ Experience at Lucid Service Center - Tysons, VA…read more If there were a 6-star rating, I'd slam that button so hard I'd break my screen. Picked up our 2025 Lucid Air today after a quick pit stop at the Tysons Service Center, and let me just say -- the car is now so quiet I can hear myself rethinking every bad decision I've ever made. The wind noise from the driver's side? Gone. Poof. Vanished like a politician's promise after election day. Now, the real MVP here: Graeme Reeves, the Service Advisor. This guy isn't just sharp and professional -- he's Royal Marines sharp. That means he's already faced worse than a cranky Lucid owner complaining about wind noise. You can tell he runs a tight ship, but he's approachable, calm, and listens better than half the people I know. Graeme handled everything with military-grade efficiency and a kind of quiet confidence that makes you trust the process -- and the man behind it. And then there's Dewana, the Service Concierge. She's basically human sunshine on wheels. No matter when you catch her -- morning, noon, or closing time -- she's got this incredible positive energy that lights up the entire center. If Lucid could bottle her vibe and install it in every car, they'd double their sales overnight. Dewana makes you feel welcome, remembered, and genuinely cared for -- which, let's be honest, is rare in the service world these days. The whole team made the experience smooth, professional, and dare I say... enjoyable. That's not something I say lightly about a service appointment. Lucid Tysons is lucky to have this crew. If you need service and want to feel like you're dropping off your car with family (the kind you like), go see Graeme and Dewana. You'll leave feeling like your Lucid -- fully charged, perfectly tuned, and ready for anything.

Avoid Koons Dealership - Deceptive Sales Practices with Leo and the Sales Manager…read moreI recently purchased a used vehicle from Koons dealership and was completely misled by the salesperson Leo and the sales manager. They specifically assured me that the car would pass Maryland state inspection despite the low tread depth on the tires, and they claimed I would easily get another 6,000-10,000 miles out of them. That turned out to be completely false. The vehicle failed inspection because of the tires, and I was forced to buy two new tires just to get it to pass. This was an unexpected and expensive surprise right after buying the car. It's clear they knew the tires were marginal at best and chose to lie to close the deal. Their priority is obviously making the sale, not being honest with customers. This kind of deceptive behavior is unacceptable. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER!

The vehicle was still driving normally. The dealership diagnosed fault code P016900 ("Incorrect Fuel Composition") and charged me approximately $229 for diagnostics. However, no physical fuel testing, fuel sampling, or injector testing was performed. The diagnosis was based primarily on electronic fault codes and clearing the codes. At the same visit, I was presented with a recommendation for a fuel injector service costing over $600. Later, during the consumer complaint process, the dealership stated in writing that there were no diagnostic indicators of injector failure and characterized the injector service as preventative maintenance rather than a repair tied to a confirmed defect. What concerned me most was that the dealership strongly implied poor or contaminated fuel was the issue while later admitting in writing that they do not perform fuel quality or contamination testing. Afterward: - the vehicle continued operating normally, - an independent mechanic later found no fault history, - and the vehicle passed Virginia emissions and safety inspection. I filed a complaint with Fairfax County Consumer Affairs. The county specialist handling the matter took the complaint seriously, requested additional dealership responses, and even asked the dealership to consider a refund or partial refund. The dealership declined. My concern is not that a fault code existed. Modern vehicles generate fault codes all the time. My concern is that conclusions and expensive recommendations were presented without confirmatory testing, while the actual diagnostic documentation did not demonstrate that the full Guided Fault Finding process outlined in Audi technical procedures had been completed. I encourage customers to ask detailed questions about how diagnoses are confirmed, what testing was actually performed, and whether recommended services are tied to verified defects or are simply preventative maintenance recommendations.

The staff here are friendly, and service is quick and efficient. I dropped off my car for a tire replacement, state inspections, and emissions testing around 8:30 AM and it was all done by lunchtime. The shuttle took me to and from my office. Kelvin was a friendly and helpful service advisor, and the shuttle driver was nice too. I like how on the report of services you need, they distinguish between things you urgently need and work that you should have done but isn't urgent. It's all very convenient, with availability by text, phone, and online. Very helpful for people who work during the day and can't stand by a phone waiting for a call that may not come for a while. And they're open Saturdays, with good long hours. That's very helpful too for those who work Monday-Friday. It may be more crowded on Saturdays, I can't say since I didn't go on a Saturday. The website to set up an appointment is a bit clunky as not all types of appointments are listed (they don't have tire replacement/repair, which I'd think is pretty common) but there's a box to explain in detail what your issue is, and the staff listen to you and talk to you when you arrive. As is typical of dealerships in this area, where space is at a premium and very expensive, the procedure to get in and out can be kind of tight, but it's better and more efficient than most around here so I can't really complain about that.

The deal they offered was so incredible that I traveled all the way from New Jersey by Amtrak to Virginia. I'll admit, I was skeptical at first because many dealerships pull bait-and-switch tactics. But not here. Saleam (Sales), Sait (Sales Manager), and Isabella (Finance) all confirmed the deal ahead of time and honored exactly what was promised. When I arrived just after opening at 9 AM, Sales was still in a meeting, but I was greeted respectfully right at the door. Saleam was paged, and the process began immediately. She welcomed me warmly, gave me a brief tour of the dealership--including the much-needed coffee lounge--and handled all the paperwork, insurance details, and my Costco rebate flawlessly. Sales Manager Sait was exceptional. He thanked me personally for my business -- something I've never experienced from a sales manager at any dealership in the past. He even told me to call him anytime if I had questions or concerns. That level of care is rare. My experience was elevated even further by Finance Manager Isabella. Her energy was absolutely to the moon. She helped close the best deal I could find anywhere in the NY/NJ/CT tri-state area and the entire DMV region. She offered an unbeatable protection package at a discount, covering dents and mileage, and explained everything clearly and thoroughly. She also respected my time, wrapping up the paperwork quickly since she knew I had a four-hour trip back home. I cannot recommend this dealership enough. If you're reading this review, do yourself a favor and consider Koons GMC in Vienna. I would happily send any of my friends, family, or colleagues here. They've earned a lifelong customer.
