We're doing a high-end, custom kitchen, and I contacted several marble fabricators and requested…read morequotes. One of those quote requests went out to A American Granite and Marble, thankfully. A American Granite, before they quoted, insisted on seeing the actual kitchen. It was a bit of a trek for him, (Juan, the owner of the company) but he felt it was very important. I was surprised because no one else even inquired about seeing the site before quoting. I received several quotes back eventually, but as I mentioned, none of the other companies even cared enough to come out and all of their quotes were "subject to site inspection", so very loosey goosey at best. Juan, however, came in with a quote that was a bit less than the others, and it was based on the actual site visit so I knew it was accurate. More importantly, he schooled my "high-end" subs that happened to be on site when he arrived, on the level of perfection that he needed for the base of his countertops while he was here. He pointed out inaccuracies in square, height, etc. - subtleties, that he could see with his eye alone. He then gave them a to-do list. At this point, I knew he was the right guy for the job even if his bid had much been higher. And Juan delivered, in an over-the-top way. My countertop edges were super difficult, and it was a really long run for one slab in particular. I wanted honed marble, and the only thing out there honed and long enough, was few and far between. He found the slabs, and Juan was so careful, so detail oriented, and he operated with such precision and finesse it was unbelievable. On the day of installation, he found remaining flaws in the precision of my "high-end" carpenters, and fixed them on site. He then installed what I can only describe as the most beautifully cut, mastered, slabs of marble. Difficult edges, angles, etc. - no problem for Juan. He is intense in his level of detail, but I will say, his precision, attention to detail, and pride in the level of quality of his work, definitely set a super high bar, that I have yet to see with the other so-called masters working in our kitchen. I dare say, he taught them a thing or two in the process. I will never recommend anyone other than Juan and A American Granite. He is a true master in his craft and out of this world quality oriented - A true artisan in the trade. So bottom line...The best quality at a competitive price? How can you go wrong?

Also the center island was delivered with several razor blade cuts into the granite. When I asked Frank to come take a look at it, he said he does not inspect every job that leaves the shop! That too had to be taken back to have the cuts grinded out. Then he wanted CASH payment in full before he would re deliver the island or he would not guarantee re delivery by Thanksgiving. That is NOT what the contract states. When I finally got the island back after giving full CASH payment the shiny gloss finish quickly wore off. Again I asked Frank to come take a look, he refused to do anything further. Never once did I get a "I'm sorry" for the mistakes and inconvenience. Frank can't be trusted. He is a terrible businessman. Don't let this happen to you!

Richie seems like a very nice person at first. Told me about his kids and even tried to give me…read morelife advice. I asked him via text if he had any 35x35 tiles at the shop. He said yes and to come in and look the next day. He didn't have ANY 35x35's. He lied to get me in his shop to look at other style tiles I might like. Waste of time. I used tiles I bought for the job instead. I gave him a tile and plumbing job. I stressed that everything had to be done before the weekend as I was celebrating my girlfriends birthday. He assured me everything including the plumbing would be done by Friday. Friday came, the tile was done (not the best job) but the plumbing was not. I needed an adapter for my shower faucet to fit properly. I asked him if he can have his plumber pick one up. Didn't get a response. He called me later and said his plumber was pissed and had been at home depot for an hour and a half looking for the part. He then had me go out hunting for the part and even asked me to go to Home Depot where his plumber had supposedly already been. I came home empty handed but told him I still wanted the plumbing done. He tells me its too late and his plumber can't make it. He knew his plumber was never going to be able to make it by Friday and had me go out searching for the part anyway to create an excuse for the plumber not to come. He said "how's tomorrow" knowing it wouldn't work for me. Onto the tile job. His guys didn't speak any English. They used and angle grinder for cutting almost everything including the scluter edges. Nothing looks clean. They put grout between the tile and the sink when it should be caulking. Richie said he would throw in a backsplash that matched the sink. He didn't. The one his guy provided is darker than the sink and doesn't look right at all. When Richie was at my house looking at the job he started talking about religion. How the Jewish people are a cult and they're taking over the area. He mentioned some derogatory comments about them that I can't disclose here. All I could say as he was venting was "wow really, that's terrible" I was in an uncomfortable position. I wish I didn't have to write this review, but people need to know about the dishonesty and quality of work. I don't want others to have to go through the same thing.
